That makes sense. I've used that App Store trick to get rid of a couple of other unwanted things too - great tip 👍.

Pretty much the same thing gas happened to me with pse15 (elements and premiere). They were working last week. Now when I try to open either I am directed to a sign in with a North American license, despite being in the UK. On sign in it says I have a 30 day trial and need to purchase a 3 year license. My account shows no activations and has a serial no for premiere only and serial no. for pse 13 and 9 which I had previously. Support say I have maxed my activations (two) but I have only ever ised the one PC.; Support say they can't do anything as it is no longer supported and they can reactivate as servers closed.

Thank You Greg! This kind of stuff is way above my pay grade and due to my level of computer illiteracy, just reading your instructions gave me anxiety. I was desperate and knew this had to be done, so with great trepidation, I followed your well written instructions carefully and it worked on my first attempt. Thank you for taking your personal valuable time to help people like me who are lost without people like you! Ken

Adobe is not abiding by its purchase agreements. It is taking over non-subcription programs to force changes that we users didn't ask for and probably don't want. It looks as if Adobe is preventing all non-subscription services from launching.

This technique works ok but the segments don't look quite connected - you can see some zigzags or gaps. Looks like PSE is not a good graphic tool. It's a fine photo enhancement tool.

The max limit on anything moving in PSE is either 3 seconds, or 6 seconds. Below is a perfect example of a video I made and posted on my youtube channel. I made the background using 3d models. I used the falling snowflakes element- which is only 6 seconds long, then looped that 6 second clip to fill out the sound track. I used Premiere elements to do that with. If I dont use that I will use Microsoft Movie maker (It's anceint old)- it's my go slideshow app. I just used one image- could have easilly made a slideshow or used a video- but it was just a "proof of concept" thing anyway. Any number of free things can make the same thing-- looped effects / videos / slide shows- but with PSE you are extremely limited. JUST WITH PSE: nothing can go over 6 seconds. WITH PREMIERE ELELEMENTS: any length of time.

You still need to do this: Download and install the latest Camera Raw version from https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html Quit all Adobe applications. On macOS, double-click the .dmg file to mount it. On Windows double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it. (Windows might unzip the file for you.) On macOS, double-click the .pkg file to start the installer. On Windows, double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer. Follow the on-screen instructions. Once installed successfully, close the installer window. Navigate to the following folder: On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC/File Formats On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats Copy the Camera Raw plug-in (just the .8bi file) from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step. Navigate to the following folder: On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements<Version Number>\File Formats Replace the existing Camera Raw plugin in Elements<Version Number> folder with the plug-in that you copied earlier.

I do not know if this will solve your issue. I think the latest update broke the Plug-ins folder information. I use Elements 2024 and Camera Raw 16. I searche for "Camera raw" in file explorer and found the following C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats I then went into Edit - Preferences - Plug-Ins. Checked the Additional Plug-ins folder and chose the above folder. This ended up fixing my issue.

tocdoc42,
Unfortunately, Photoshop Elements 2025 is stuck on Camera Raw 17.0 and has not been updated to Camera Raw 17.1, which is required for your Nikon Z 50 II.
https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
You can manually install Camera Raw 17.1 by following the directions in this thread:

WINDOWS ONLY Argus Preset Viewer (google it) $10. Download, extract, click on the full install link in the popup menu. It allows you to view brush thumbnails, any thumbnails actually in your preset folder- brushes and shapes in particular- in your file explorer. Adobe says there is no software to view brush thumbnails, BUT THIS IS IT! I generally don't mess with add ons / actions /presets type stuff for PSE, but this product "Argus Preset Viewer" does exactely what I needed / wanted, which is something Adobe says does not exist "Software to view brush thumbnails." I have hundreds of brush sets, many are garbage, not worth the download- but with this program I can see all the brush thumbnails without having to start any Adobe program. It's built into your file explorer, after you click on the exe file. I have a bunch of custom swatches installed in other versions of PSE. I will search for them, and put them all in one folder I can find. Then I copy and paste that folders' contents into all my versions of PSE I have installed.

I think I can duplicate circles as you suggested by using Ctrl-Click on one canvas and move to the other. I don't think I need to produce more layers (Ctrl-J) , though. The annoying thing is that each duplicated circle is a new layer, but looks like I have to live with it if I want to move/size them later.

Greg, I think you have missed the point here. It is only the master jpg images that are at 1200ppi. The Bitmaps are created at whatever size I want to show the images in Access at different zoom factors (fast loading as I explained). My Monitor has 94.423 ppi (I've measured it exactly). So, if I want to show a 1 inch image at actual size on the monitor, I have a Bitmap of 94x94 pixels. If I want an image showing at 4 x zoom, I have a Bitmap of 378x378 pixels. So a ppi of 1200 in the master jpg gives plenty of extra detail to produce the Bitmaps using Photoshop Elements. 600 ppi is not quite enough for very high zoom of small objects. Nonetheless, whatever Bitmaps are produced, they are all at 94.423 ppi (rounded to neareat pixel). Obviously, this only works on my current monitor. If I get a different monitor, all the Bitmaps will need re-creating based on the ppi of the new monitor.

@jimk10828505 I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. Yes, before Elements 2025, all versions had a serial number that was required to activate the license. Each version of Photoshop Elements has a different serial number than the same version of Premiere Elements.
Starting with Elements 2025, activation is verified by signing into your Adobe account from a known device. There is no serial number involved with this latest version.

You are right. The problem with not doing a preview is that the scanner does its whole bed, not just the photo. For some reason, the preview is able to close in on the photo on the bed. ???? I don't know if it makes a difference in how the photo ends up if I have to crop the image heavily after doing the scan or not (if I don't do the preview). I just am baffled why I can't change this behavior. If you or anyone has ideas, I'd appreciate them.

On Macs the User Library is hidden unless the user unhides it.
So an easy way to get to your User Library is click on your desktop then in the Go menu click the Option key and you'll see Library which is your User Library.
Then you should see Preferences and the files that should be trashed
