@Valeria_Ascencio2720 if you created a new layer JPGs doesn't allow you to save it as a layer, you need to flatten it first to be save as a JPG.

@AbiDavid90 one could just hide the layer in the layers. On default is whatever you want to see, and when you create a hover state, you click to unhide the layer that you don't want to see

@davidp14169635 @ellices63621269 Adobe is still considered the go to design tool for Graphic designers, Journalists, Ad Agencies and so on... Sure there are some apps like Xd that may not bring 'their game' to the table to 'Figma' but the other apps are so much better than the alternatives I think...just my two cents worth!😁

@Emelie273125328k6v I believe you need to have an .edu email address to apply. https://www.adobe.com/ca/creativecloud/buy/students.html If you are going to school, you should ask the IT team, or your school's program. I know my students need to go through the Learning Portal to get the 1 year subscription for free as it is part of the educational at our school

@Peter_Frommenwiler0327 that's nothing. My father-in-law passsed away last year, and I was doing his photo for the picture at the head of the casket. His head in the orginal photo was tilted, and I wanted to see if AI can quickly fixed it...as soon as I put a prompt in, and hit enter, my wife comes in, and soon after, my father-in-law head is now changed to a blond guy (fyi, my FIL is Chinese), so I quicky hit regenerate, and then it gave me woman's head, by then, I already knew...I was in the doghouse... I eventually did it by hand...

@Rui Chen this is an ongoing issue with Chinese characters not reading properly in Xd. And chances of any new developments with this known bug, is highly unlikely as Adobe Xd is in 'maintenance mode'. Granted Xd just did a recent update likely for security patches, and maybe some known bugs...try updating to the new Xd if that solves it. If not, you might be out of luck, or try switching to English?

Working in InDesign 2024, version 19.5.2 (MAC) - unable to upgrade to 2025 as I would need to get the new M series. I literally just downloaded an image from the web, which is RGB and 72ppi. In the links it does show up as RGB and 72 actual PPI and a higher effective PPI.
If I was saving this for the web, sure it's marginally ok... but if I wanted to save this for a commercial printers, I should be saving the images at CMYK and 300 ppi... and it would get flagged if I attempted to 'package' this file
But, I was wondering why my 'Preflight Panel' isn't showing up as errors. I have other files where overset text is there, and even the Preflight Panel' or the 'bottom here' gets flagged.
Questions: 1. Why isn't my preflight panel working or at the bottom of my app frame not showing the errors,e ven though my document is set for 'Print' presets.

@pavitsos i 100% agree with @Monika Gause . Although, you could try, but how great that file may be is anyone's guess, but, you might have auto-save on Illustrator, and if so, there might be a temporary file in your 'temp' folder. Just do a finder search on your PC for that! Good luck!

@doraz_6843 The error "a running instance of Acrobat has caused an error" usually means that Acrobat (or a related process) is still running in the background, even if you don't see the main window. Your reinstallation should have addressed this, but sometimes remnants linger. Wait until it is 100% complete. Then re-install the software Use Adobe Cleaner Tool to fix the many common problems (such as removing old Adobe software, cleaning corrupt installation files, and fixing your host files to establish a connection with Adobe servers).

@lol_2523 do you now have the paid version of Acrobat? Or no more Adobe Acrobat? You need to change the settings on when you try to open the PDF on your computer. You can change the settings. Right-click on the PDF file. A menu will pop up. Look for an option that says "Open with" (it might be nested in a submenu). A list of programs will appear. Select "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or whatever the name of your Adobe PDF program is). If you don't see it, there might be an option like "Choose another app" or "Browse" - click that and find your Adobe program. Also, I would remove Acrobat Pro Trial too to avoid the slight chance it will pop-open. Maybe, try the Adobe Cleaner Tool from Adobe

@wonderful_view0816 Adobe's Creative Cloud subscriptions, including Acrobat Pro, typically limit the number of active devices you can be signed in to simultaneously. The exact number depends on your subscription plan. Two devices are a common limit for individual plans. It sounds like you might have reached the limit with your iPad, and phone. Go to the Adobe website (adobe.com) and sign in to your account. Look for a section related to "Account Management" or "Plan." There should be a list of the devices currently signed in. This will confirm if you've hit your device limit.
This is the most likely solution. You need to sign out of your Adobe account on one of your other devices (likely the old computer, unless you no longer use it). On each device (old computer, iPad, phone), open the Creative Cloud desktop app (if installed) or an Adobe app (like Photoshop or Acrobat Reader). Look for a "Sign Out" option in the app's menu (often under "Help" or your account icon).

@curtis_7372 right off the bat, I think this means the date you entered in the form field is not in the correct format (month/day/year) or is not a valid date. The error message itself tells you the correct format: mm/dd/yyyy. If the month or day is a single digit, add a leading zero (e.g., 03/08/2024).

@Douglas5CC7 one of the selections / blending modes that I do with my students is using the layer mask which might be a little confusing but they are non-destructive (you can edit the mask later) and give you the most control.
I will open two images in Photoshop
If I place the right image on top of my tent image on the left, the two images will blend together, which I really don't want. It would give me a cool effect though. But, I believe this is NOT what you want?
I will make my selection now, using a variety of selection tools
Duplicate the layer that contains the window area you want to blend (Background in my example). I will use a keyboard shortcut Command J (MAC) or Control J (PC) or Layer - New - Layer Via Copy
Now, I will open the image on the right and copy and paste in the same file as my tent image.
Command Click (MAC) or Control Click (PC) on Layer 1's thumbnail. It will appear as marching ants with it's bounding box on Layer 1 selection
Select Layer 2 or the new top image and we will create a layer mask. Click the "Add layer mask" icon at the bottom of the Layers panel (it looks like a rectangle with a circle in it)
A layer will be created
At this stage, if you click on the blend modes, it's still blending the two images, which is NOT want we want.
Instead, we want to fill the middle layer (layer 1) with black. Let's make sure our window selection and Command Click (MAC) or Control Click (PC) on Layer 1 thumbnail in the layer
With the selection active, press D to set your foreground/background colors to black and white. Then press Alt+Delete (Windows) or Option+Delete (Mac) to fill the selection with black. This will make the selection black.
Now you can try blend modes by select Layer 2, to something that works for your image. For example, try “Screen” or “Hard Light”.
NOTE: I did try 'Auto-Blend' but it took awhile to process (still processing after 5 minutes), and I need to get back to marking. But you can try auto-blend if you like

@shalanandpaul I don't get this 'pop-up'... you could try this... go to the Adobe Crative Cloud (desktop) and look in its preferences or settings for update controls. Here you will find options to manage updates for all installed Adobe applications, including Photoshop.
Top-right corner, click on your photo or avatar
Click on Preferences
Under 'Apps' you could turn on 'Auto Updates' which will automatcially update it for you
You can turn off the 'notifications'
------ Also, if you go to the online account, of your adobe.com account, https://account.adobe.com/magazines

@bladimir_9303 I would double-check your internet connection. A slow or unstable connection can interrupt the download and cause it to hang. Try connecting with an Ethernet cable if you're on Wi-Fi. Also, temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software you have running, as they might be interfering with the installation. Just remember to turn them back on afterward!
Sometimes, background processes can cause problems. Try closing any unnecessary programs running on your computer. That's including any streaming videos or music in the background too! You can also try running the Creative Cloud app as an administrator. Right-click on the Creative Cloud icon and select "Run as administrator." This can sometimes resolve permission issues. If that doesn't work, let's try a fresh start with the Creative Cloud app. Uninstall the Creative Cloud app completely )I strongly suggets using the Adobe Cleaner Tool from Adobe's website). The Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool is intended for users to fix many common problems (such as removing old Adobe software, cleaning corrupt installation files, and fixing your host files to establish a connection with Adobe servers). Then log-in adobe.com and download the latest version from Adobe's website and reinstall it. This can sometimes fix corrupted files within the app itself. When you reinstall, make sure you choose the correct location for the installation. If you're still stuck, you can also contact Adobe's customer support for more personalized assistance. They might have encountered this specific issue before and can offer tailored advice. Hopefully, one of these steps will get Photoshop installed for you!

@john_4805 When I do a quicktime recording it saves as a 'MOV' file. The file is quite big when I do recording on my students assignments or for here in the community. I use Handbrake which is an open-source video transcoder that allows you to convert video files from one format to another. I convert my file into a MP4 and the file size is much smaller. For example, I just finished a small recording for someone else in this community and that record. The file size was 65 MB. I used Handbrake it saved to 3.5MB! Huge saving of space!
