You are showing the "History Brush". Press shift-Y so it shows the "Art History Brush" then hover over the tool and the pop up will show the "Art Histroy Brush" (it's like hunting for Easter eggs!)

Maybe this will work. Start the other way around. * Put only the images you want to edit into a collection in LrClassic. * Sync the collection. * Start LrCC, wait for it to sync the images and albums down from the cloud. * Import the originals into LrCC. LrCC will match up the original with the preview version it already knows about, then sync the original to the cloud. I hope that helps. Cheers!

You can sign up for an Adobe newsletter in the Communications section in your Adobe Account. Go to: Adobe ID Another great way to keep up on Lightroom updates is to get on the mailing list at the Lightroom Queen. Lots of great info and resources! Cheers!

You have discovered a quirk about Apple photos in iOS! It turns out, whenever you edit a picture on your iPhone it creates a derivative file that is invisible through the UI but is there "behind the scenes." I was able to reproduce it like this: 1. import new picture from my iPhone into Lr Classic 2. disconnect iPhone from computer 3. Edit the picture in Apple Photos app on iPhone 4. Connect iPhone to computer and select Import in Lr Classic 5. Image presents as a new image available for import Since Apple treats every edit as a new image Lightroom sees them as new images as well. In this example my first image had the filename IMG_4163.JPG. The second image was given the filename IMG_E4163.JPG So... there it is. It's iOS that causes it and not Lightroom. Kinda interesting though! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Cheers!

Hi George, I merged your request for smart collections with previous ones to give it more weight. To get your request for the ability to compare photos noticed create a separate request. Thanks for your input! Cheers!

Although it's not obvious there are keyboard shortcuts for Copy and Paste Settings. The standard Cmd-C (Ctrl-C) to copy and Cmd-V (Ctrl-V) to paste work just fine but they only work on one image at a time. Hope that helps.

Also, the order in which you log out, quit, and log in is important. Follow these steps and see if that helps: 1. Sign out of Creative Cloud 2. Quit Creative Cloud
3. Start Creative Cloud
4. Sign in to Creative Cloud
5. Start LrCC

So... under the "best laid plans of mice and men" category the path to getting an upgrade in storage to certain plans has been rocky at best. Let me start by thanking all of you for your persistence and patience in searching for a solution to this issue. Also, on behalf of everyone at Adobe I would like to offer a sincere apology. Our teams are working rabidly... ferociously... furiously... (yeah that's it ) ...working furiously to create a smoother experience for our customers. Until then... We are trying to discourage people from using that 1tb link I mentioned in the thread because it only adds CC storage, not photo storage so if you would please not use it that would be helpful. We are asking you to simply purchase the stand alone Lightroom CC w/ 1TB plan for $9.99. It's less messy for your account and it get's you your storage for the same price. It's not the most elegant solution but until the team figures out a better one it will work. Another alternative is to wait until your current plan runs up against your storage limit. You will then receive a notification that should present you with the appropriate upgrade options. If other issues arise please respond to this thread and we will deal with them. This is a perfect example of users helping to make the product experience better for everyone. Thank you! Rick

Although tone curves and calibration aren't part of the new release they are in consideration for future updates. It's a work in progress and we want your help in creating it so thank you very much for your ideas and suggestions.

Yes, the edits are reflected in Classic. I'm still thinking that CC might not be the workflow you need but here are a few great posts that help explain how both systems work: Introducing: Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic CC and More | Photoshop Blog by Adobe The All-New Lightroom CC: An Overview - YouTube https://www.lightroomqueen.com/the-future-of-lightroom/ Lots of good info there!

Perhaps Lightroom CC is not the right solution for you. Adobe will continue to update and support Lightroom Classic for the forseeable future and have made some pretty cool upgrades already. Again, Lightroom CC is not meant as an upgrade for Lightroom Classic. It is just another tool in your creative toolbox.

Like Brad said, it doesn't matter because they are stand alone apps. Lightroom Classic references your Catalog and Lightroom CC references your Adobe ID. So again, you aren't upgrading Lr Classic, you are just sharing it's assets with Lr CC. You do that by migrating your catalog if you like. Here's a link that talks about it: Migrate photos and videos from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC I hope that helps.

Lightroom CC is a new product. Don't think of it as an upgrade but as a new tool with new features. Victoria Bampton, better known as The Lightroom Queen has a wonderful post about the differences between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC that may help you decide which one is right for you. Check it out: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/the-future-of-lightroom/

Your opinion matters so thank you for bringing this up. It may not be much consolation but I felt the same way so I came up with a little work around that matched my "muscle memory". It goes like this: 1. Set filter to show images with 3 stars or less 2. Flag your rejects with 4 stars 3. Flag your picks with 5 stars 4. Keep going until the screen is empty 5. Set filter to show 4 stars only and dump the rejects. You may come up with a variation on that theme that suits you better but you get the idea, right? By the way, culling images on an iPad in Lr Mobile is a dream!! Swipe up on the right side of the screen for a pick and down for a reject. Swipe up or down on the left side of the screen for star ratings. I hope that helps. Cheers!
