Ok well now I tried to add it into my template... the footer shows up but not the header - any idea why not? btw: I tried to add raw html example - not seeing it show up yet... ------------

Hi, I am using this JS validation JavaScript Form Validation : quick and easy!‌ and by itself it works well but also I am using jQuery with forms and it seems to be over riding the validation and just processing the form anyway Q: How do I set it up so jQuery form can wait for validation to work 1st? Hi all, Sooo sorry for the late response - I got pulled away on other matters. In my case I am trying to work on a phone gap website - and they don't use any php so I am limited to using HTML / javascript for now Thanks SO MUCH for all the helpful ideas !!!

php session vars not showing up I have a slightly odd setup (let's pretend we don't want to change this right now) I have a HTML page on site 1 - on page1.html I have an iframe that goes to site2 (php) <iframe src="http://mysite2.com/page2.php" ></iframe> page2.php sets some session vars like <?php if(!session_id()) session_start(); $_SESSION["id"] = 123; ?> - and then does a page jump to page3.php echo '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=ipage3.php">' ---- when I get to page3 the first time the session vars do not show up like: <?php if(!session_id()) session_start(); echo $_SESSION["id"]; ?> ---> but when I manually refresh the original site 1 page then it recycles everything and then successfully shows the session vars on page 3 Q: Curious why the session vars do not show up the 1st time around? Any idea how to fix this?

Hi all, I am coming from a PHP background and a newbie with HTML5 and JavaScript and local storage Currently I'm trying to build a mobile web app that uses a remote Database. I have a question about database updating. Currently, I have It set up so when the User logs in successfully – Local storage fields are loaded from the remote database query using a jQuery.get(). This seems to work well. When it's time to update the data, I populate form fields from the local storage, let the user edit the fields, then: - use a form post to send the data to the remote php page, which updates the database..... here's where I have a question: How do I make sure the edit went through okay - what's best to do now? - I can set up a json response to say if the update was successful or not or - Query the database once again and retrieve the fields To compare them to the edit results or - Some other technique to Make sure the edit went through okay - then if successful, I can update the local storage Q: What is the best way to make sure That the database was updated correctly (and also not waste time with unneeded database access)? Is there a best practices for this? Also if possible this newbie could use a clear example...

Thanks - I check out that link! NEWBIE ALERT.... In the meantime I have an issue: multi page site tester: - login goes to outside site to get data using get call - comes back and sets data results to local storage like: localStorage.setItem("First", value.First); localStorage.setItem("Last", value.Last); etc... ----------------------- - then goes to another page2 and shows data FROM local storage - all good like this <script> $(document).ready(function(){ document.getElementById('First').innerHTML = localStorage.getItem("First"); document.getElementById('Last').innerHTML = localStorage.getItem("Last"); document.getElementById('Street').innerHTML = localStorage.getItem("Street"); $('#list').html( output ); $('#list').listview( "refresh" ); }); </script> ----------------- - but then I try to go to another semi duplicate page3 to see close to the same thing - and oddly some of the fields do not show and some do.... I think for my purposes it might be best to just store the data temporarily - similar to a session var - and possible dump the data after the app closes - and then reload all when they login each time. So would it be best to use localStorage or sessionStorage for this purpose? In my localStorage test the data remained persistent even after I quit and reloaded the app - which is nice but better for me to be able to delete it when I want? Are there functions that can wipe out just some key value pairs? Are there functions that can delete all local storage? Also is localStorage / sessionStorage sandboxed with an IOS or android app or is it available outside the app also?

Hi all, I am trying to get a youtube video embedded on a personal site page and the other person does not like the random thumbnail choices (POSTERS) youtube gave us. I still wanted the video to come from youtube but be able to control the poster thumbnail. So, I thought to try the htnl5 video tag, but I could not get it working with a youtube link. ! THIS SEEMS TO BE WORKING NOW - PLEASE disregard.... i think it was slow to start a java applet - but now ok.... Hi all, I am using CF 10 and looking at some old code from several years back. ok so I typed cd /Tmp and then it found it and I think installed it... but now I still can't download and install all the newer updates... i think I ran this ok... not sure what it did.... IMPORTANT: After applying the update, reconfigure the connectors using wsconfig tool. It is in {cf_install_home}/cfusion/runtime/bin when I try to download i get the error = failed signature verification How I can Fix this?
