Unfortunately, I'm just not getting a better understanding from this. Is there anyone from Adobe that can provide a current, clear guide to what end users, at any particular moment, can and cannot do without exposure to litigation? "Eligible Firefly Features (1)" "(1) Excludes any (A) capabilities that Adobe may develop that are denoted in the user interface as being powered or provided by non-Adobe trained models and (B) any features designated as “beta” or accessed within a surface labeled as “beta.” Features may not be available on all surfaces." "Eligible Firefly Surfaces (1)" "(1) Eligible Firefly Feature(s) are not guaranteed to be available on all surfaces."

The asterisk and text specify a beta feature, rather than a beta host application: "Reference Image (Beta*)" "*Outputs from beta features can be used commercially unless otherwise designated in the product or elsewhere, but they aren't eligible for indemnification while in beta." Obviously, "unless otherwise designated in the product or elsewhere" isn't very helpful, but that's a different issue.

Hi Kevin, I'm addressing indemnification, not commercial use. As noted, Photoshop's AI generated content, as specified in my link, can be used commercially, but its use does not provide legal protections. I assume this means Photoshop is using a different version of AI generation, which may be drawing from otherwise copyright-protected content.

I was under the impression that one of Firefly's most useful features was that the images could be used commercially, as they are being based on a closed, controlled ecosystem. I was considering using it for commercial work, but apparently, this still isn't the case: "Outputs from beta features can be used commercially unless otherwise designated in the product or elsewhere, but they aren't eligible for indemnification while in beta." (Emphasis is mine.) From this page. So, this seems to say that yes, you can use it commercially, but you can be sued. Am I interpreting this correctly? /

Just started a new yearly project, and have found that the font used in the logo is no longer available. Is there a list of the fonts that have been removed? I'd like to share it with my client. Thanks.

Upgrading an OS is not the solution, particularly for those with computers that can't be updated to Sonoma, either because of the age of the computer or because one may be in the middle of projects. Mostly, though, because Sonoma wasn't available when the error began.

Let's just say I'd rather have the interface the way... I had it before the last update. Any way to do that?

Point being, sometimes / often we are required to pick a tag that isn't relevant.

When we start a post, a list of topics appears, below the post, and at least one of them must be chosen. More often than not, there are many listed that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual topic or content. In this case, the closest thing for me was "MacOS" or whatever is was. I doubt anyone coming in with the same question is going to search "MacOS".

Thanks Bojan - that worked. I was expecting an "expand variations to layers" or something similar. Hang on. .🙂 I didn't see this yesterday. Hmm..

I can't figure out how to save all generated examples.... so I have 3 nice looking flowers, but... how do I save all 3 flowers to layers? 2nd question: Why are the topics listed below so daft?

Follow up: this seems to be affecting only my main working computer (iMac) even after deleting preferences & uninstalling/re-installing Acrobat. Based on this page, Forums appear to be the only support option for individual users - is this correct?

Hi Amal, 1) The "flashing image squares" is with this file only, but many have shown decreased performance, some more than others. 2) I'm current. I'd post but we can't copy from the About box. 3) Will try resetting preferences if issue persists. However, I don't remember selecting the "make performance really choppy" option 😉 4) I'm in the middle of like 6 projects, so no chance I'm going to do anything that has the potential of causing user recognition issues right now. I would be interested, though, in knowing (technically) how a user profile can cause rectangular sections of an image to flash on & off like a slow-motion disco floor.

This morning I"m finding that a very small (1.4mb) document I'm working on can barely be navigated. It's generated out of InDesign, and has a photo on the front (5.6mb original size) and an Illustrator image on the back (265k) as well as 10 very small image files. However, other documents seem to be ok. Maybe a bit slow, but generally ok. When navigating, the front "large" image seems to randomly hide rectangular sections of the image, which alternate while I'm viewing: It's actually a re-make of a flyer I did 9 years ago. Overall, there's been a general "slowing down" of Acrobat in different documents, but this is the worst I've seen so far. Specs: Any help appreciated. Also see this post, maybe related.

Here for the same reason. It's been getting a bit slow, but this morning I have a very small document (2 pages) that's nearly impossible to navigate without issues. Lots of graphic display issues. File size is 1.4mb. Will be posting about this in a minute.

More frequently than I want to admit, I am working on something and discover "stacked" text frames. Honestly, I'm not sure where they're coming from. Example 1: I have a doc set up with a Primary Text Frame. I go to the end of my content, CMD-D to import a document, and rather than importing inline, it give me the loaded text cursor. I then check my doc & somehow I have the text in the document running in a set of frames above those on the master page. Example 2: I apply a parent page containing a primary text frame to my document, work a bit, then notice stacked text frames. --- Now, I'm not saying that's what's causing it... those are just a few examples of when I've noticed. It might get rid of the "problem", but it feels sloppy to move a bunch of stuff, copy contents, and paste back into the Primary Text thread & delete the newly empty extra text frames. I really would like to understand this, though 🙂 Should have asked like 7 years ago. Any suggestions/guidance? thanks, as always.

Hi Rob - thanks for the note. My client currently has backups running constantly, so even if someone overwrote something, a previous version can be pulled. It would be great if ID recognized/honored the lock files, though. As far as CC goes, I typically manually backed up my own stuff to various drives. Would much rather have automatic cloud backup.

Funny, I asked the same thing in the CC forum & got bullied... glad I found your question here. FWIW I'm using Dropbox daily with a client; they have a business account of some type, and it seems to be great so far. We work from files directly without any transferring first. (Only hiccup I ran into, which was a few days ago, was that I duplicated an ID file & couldn't rename it. Strange.) Only question I really have at this point is how their backups are handled. Apparently, you can't ask them without a paid account. Anyway, thanks again.

For those of you currently relying on using CC Sync folders between computers, and you need full application functionality for the files you currently save there, what are you planning on doing/using once CC Folder Sync ends? This Adobe page notes: "You may leave the assets in the Creative Cloud Files folder, or you may choose to move the assets to third-party cloud storage for cross-device access and backup." However, no further info or recommendations are provided in regard to features that may hinder application functionality, which obviously needs to be preserved. thanks!

Thanks all. The thing about footnotes is that they follow along. Early in a book that's pretty important. Unfortunately, I'll have to find some workarounds.
