Can't see your screen shot but try this. In Reader go to Edit>Preferences>Page display>Page content and information and check the box that says "Show large images.

Adobe already has a paid-for product that creates bookmarks. The free one doesn't.You are weldome to use free, third party tools to edit your pdf files but when they don't work as well as you'd hoped, you only have yourself to blame. If you are simply working on pdf files for yourself and don't have to share them, you'll probably be fine.

If not, right click in the toolbar area where it should be ang go to Show select and zoom tools and select both "Zoom in" and "Zoom out".

Are you viewing this PDF using a Web browser or have you tried downloading it and using File>Open from within Reader itself to view the pdf? If you haven't done the latter, please try that. It could be the web browsers pdf viewer causing issues.

Also sorry to be late with a reply. Been busy at work with this latest viral scare. Looking at the file, I don't see any problems. I am able to copy/paste from my version of Reader into a Word document. You're correct that there is no security preventing this and all the fonts are embedded properly. Not sure what would cause this for you but not me.

Depending on the hpw and why you got this message, you may already have a new enough version. That message is typically associated with people trying to open a pdf form in a browser (like Chrome) that doesn't use the Adobe Reader plug-in. And even more specifically, the pdf is probably a form. If this sounds familiar, try right-clicking the link to the pdf, choose to save it to your computer. Open Reader then use File>Open to open the pdf file.

More than likely, the form was filled out using a non-Adobe product (Like Mac Preview for instance) and is basically corrupt. If you have Mac Preview or whatever app the person used to fill it out, you may be able to get to the information if you use that.

Moire than likely you are using a web browser that is not using the Adobe Reader plug-in. The browser specific plug-ins are horrible with forms. To get by that, instead of clicking the link to open the pdf, right-click, save to you computer, open Reader then use File>Open to open the pdf.

Can you describe "how" it's not working. How far did you get and what happened? Were you able to download the file to your computer like instructed? If not, what happened? If so, what happens when you try and open the pdf in Reader?

Can you describe exactly what types of edits you have done and what tools were used to do those edits? Also, what exact version of Reader are you using (in Reader go to Help>About...) and are you sure that the pdf wasn't edited in any other third party pdf viewer (like Mac Preview and such)?
Screenshots would be great too if you can supply them.

Yes. You found the area where you need to add your default email handler. If you do not do that, Windows will assume Outlook to be the default.

I would consider the online document cloud services. It's a small(ish) monthly fee and you can use it to create all of your pdf files and to combine them all together in the end. Also, no corruption.

In my experience, if it were due to email encoding, none of the files would open. Generally it's been all or nothing when it comes to that. But yes, it's an easy thing to check.

That being said, if you insist on creating them using this workflow, you may sugges they use a third party PDF viewer to open the files rather than reader. Third party viewers aren't always as picky about pdf specifications but this of course does not guarantee that any of those tools will work either.

The best advice I can give is to use an Adobe product (Acrobat) to create the PDF and definitely keep Mac Preview out of the mix. PDF's edited in Preview are known for ending up being corrupted enough to not open in Adobe Reader.

Chrome and Edge are using their own pdf viewers which can cause problems. There is a plugin for Adobe that will open the pdf in the Reader app so they can be viewed and in your case, filled in properly.

If you "save as" to a different name, yes. You will have the new file with the new name and the old file with the old name.
