The 12.0.2 update addresses the original issue posted on this thread: http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2010/12/photoshop-cs5-update-12-0-2-now-available.html (not the Apple API change issue listed just above this post). I think we may know what's going on here. Are there docked panels above the area you are trying to drag objects? This thread describes a similar problem dragging doc to doc or doc to desktop, but the same issue affects moving layers in a document located in the same area. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/713999?tstart=0

Make sure you install all the updates (Help>Updates... from either PS or Bridge). The Adobe Output Module wasn't enabled in the released version and was restored in an update.

Did you try resetting Photoshop's Prefs on startup? You can also trash Save For Web's prefs by quitting Photoshop, deleting the following file, and restarting Photoshop: Volumes\username\Library\Preferences\Adobe Save for Web 11.0 Prefs

The disabled menus problem happens with slower drives/machines. It will be fixed in an update in the very near future. You can disable tabbed documents in Photoshop's preferences: Preferences>Interface... Uncheck "Open Documents as Tabs" and "Enable Floating Document Window Docking"

It will become available as part of the regular updater. Photoshop will give you a notification that an update is available, or you will be able to get it by choosing Help>Updates once it becomes available. You are describing exactly how it happens. The Save progress dialog on large files/slow drives triggers it.
