You can do this with the show/hide field function. Your alert/message is one button, easiest is just to have it cover all other fields in stack order you can add as many show/hide functions as you like to show/hide additional form items. Clicking somewhere on the alert button will hide itself (and if necessary show other buttons/fields). This can be done in Acrobat or in InDesign. This PDF was from Word (cmd-D on mac ctrl-D on Windows shows the Document information) if you look at the properties of a form field you can see the "default value". If the text is default clear-form deletes the content and resets default text. Now there is a problem with default text and that is that it is not possible to make use of Rich Text Formatting. You say you have varying sources, some word and some InDesign. You also have an inconsistency that some text fields text gets hidden, You need to find the pattern to know where the problem is. THIS file was created as a PDF from Word with PDF Maker. How the form fields were made and what fonts were used and the structure of how the file was made in Word needs more digging. If it is only Word files then you need to look closer there. If there are no form functions from word you need to do the forensics on how the document was crafted. How were form fileds made why is the one form field with a different font than the other two (on page 15) How was the default text entered. Was it from Word (which means form functions were used) or was it does in Acrobat and filled with copy paste (on what computer operating system? Thanks. OK So it's from Word using PDF Maker. The forms are done in word I guess? Is the font consistent with your word file or is it sometimes honoured sometimes not? Font says Arial even when it clearly is not, but that could be because it is rich text enabled. Could it be that these fields are written with a font that isn't embedded and so when you try to edit the field it is forced to Arial. I see from the list of fonts an ArialMT that is not embedded. I see what you mean. But I am not usually dealing with forms from Word, so I'm sorry not too good at answering. I do see that the text is not set as default text, but rather as filled from the form. If it is urgent try print as image in Advanced settings. It could be a font conflict. Check that your fonts are embedded. If it is a standard font it may be a font substitution with a version built in on your printer. But as Dov says the question is a little generic. (like "why is my food not tasting good?") If you can show a sample of your problem (with information about the font used) and a photo of how it looks on print. If you also know about how the PDF was created, if it follows a standard (E.g PDFx1a ) and finally confirm that you are printing from Acrobat and not Preview or some other PDF reader. ... View more

Text is normally vector and scale independent Images have a resolution and will not add more information than you have (though some printers have options and algorithms to fake it quite well). But are you looking to print readers spreads  or 2-upp (under the Multiple Tab) It is also possible to do manually by printing all Odd pages turning the stack manually and Printing the Even Pages after (check in reverse pages if necessary) normally for the printer it neither recognises or honours left / right pages but prints odd pages on front and even pages on back. That sounds tricky. Wish I had an answer, as far as I know signing a form locks it so that it cannot be further edited. I know I would not like a contract I signed to be altered after my signature. I suppose you could "print" the signed PDF to a PDF and then proceed with that document as a new form, that you can fill in any blanks and then add your own signature, but that would lose the first digital signature. I think you can sign a document and then a second person sign off as long as there is no additional fill in. PM me if you want to test that. What field of work are you? Hard to know without seeing the file. There is the "Advanced" button in the Print dialog box that allows you to control several settings that could affect print speed quality. For really tricky files check "Print as image" and your computer will process the conversion to raster data. Transparency flattener can affect the print speed where you balance speed vs detail. Start there and if it doesn't work please present more information so that we can dig further. (Is it CJK fonts? Are there complex graphics? Is there much transparency? Could you explain more your situation or show screen dumps. You can change the view of the PDF to be spreads which will give you view of the pages 2 by 2. If it is our of sync because the first page should be a single page use "cover page" In the print dialog there are settings for printing booklet. But if you can print left or right pages very much depends on your printer driver. To get left and right sided pages with margins being different in normally a layout issue. I do not use LightRoom so can’t say how it works. It is possible to view wrong results in Photoshop too, it will only view correct an embedded profile in Photoshop if you are enabling profile for mismatch. For an sRGB that is untagged to view as sRGB photoshop must be set to have workingspace to be sRGB. The defaults in Photoshop do not help make it easy because general purpose setting does not honour profiles. Adobes “prepress settings” honour (require) profiles but incorrectly assume AdobeRGB for untagged artwork. You get bad settings out of the box. What you must do is make your own colour settings file. If you are reviving stock and unprofiled RGB I would recommend using general purpose and enabling to use profile if there is mismatch (graphics with profile are untouched). If you want to get brighter colours (increase the brightness to beyond what sRGB can offer) you can convert to AdobeRGB and tweak, but then you must embed the AdobeRGB profile. The other path involves using the “prepress “ workflow (which as years in prepress I can not recommend unless you are using a closed system). Profiles will be honoure. But as you open untagged images (or images seem overly saturated as you have shown) assign the sRGB profile. If your image now looks normal save (and it will embed sRGB). If you prefer to tweak the image in AdobeRGB you can then convert to AdobeRGB, but you may be tempted to use colour s that you cannot keep if you are to deliver material in sRGB (which may mean you lose bright colours as you export). If your final output is screens I would Recommend using sRGB (General Purpose) workflow. Don’t believe me because I say so, you can test this and make your mind up on empirical fact. Should have clarified you never use the monitor profile in software such as Photoshop. You do use the monitor profile in the system settings, but that is taken care of in the calibration process. A long time ago (we're talking 90's) the monitor profile was the working profile, but that was a long time ago. The desaturated images you are showing is typical of Adobe RGB unmanaged or assigned/treated as sRGB. The over saturated images you show are typical of sRGB treated as AdobeRGB (or as unassigned in workflow assuming AdobeRGB). Windows, the internet and HP assume sRGB for untagged images by default and should do so because that what its for and why this is the default behaviour for General Purpose Colour Settings. sRGB is standard RGB and does not need a profil, it is the only no-profile-needed colour space. Now you say you shoot RAW, and sRGB which is a contradiction. sRGB is the space for when you shoot RAW and JPG. You may have transparency of overly complex art. Illustrator is an Object based program. It does Vectors well but not only Vectors. There are several effects which force rasterisation, these include any kind of blur effect. Also check your transparency flattener settings. Easiest way to see what is pure vector is to go to the outline view (Command/Control-Y, or as I tell students Command–WHY) and it will explain why things are not as you may think. In outline mode you see all the vectors of your art. If there is vectors missing, you must expand them.
