Can't replicate on this end but there are known bug(s) whereby on Mac, LR runs very slowly and Adobe is aware of this and is working on it. In the meantime, try loading the sRGB profile installed (by Photoshop), as the display profile in System Preferences>Display>Color. Then try again; any better speed wise? If so, it would be useful to know more about your Mac hardware.

First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Preformance). Any better? If not, recalibrate and build a new ICC profile, the old one might be corrupted. If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix not LUT profile, Version 2 not Version 4 profile.

This thread is now very old but I am still getting Comments & "likes" about it. Time (and Adobe) have moved on and ACR is now at 13.0.2 and to be fair to Adobe is a totally different product. I spent several hours with the tech support team (on line) but at that time the problems were unresolved. However the time was well spent and I would like to think that I helped them understand the user problems and as a result the following upgrades sorted the bugs. I have to say the product on my machine (desktop PC) is totally smooth, no evidence of lag, judder or any of the previous bugs. My hardware is exactly the same so the improvement is down to Adobe programmers sorting out the software issue. If any reader still has problems I would suggest they upgrade to this version as for me it has solved everything. Unfortunately it hasn't made me a better photographer, just a better post processor!

Had the same issue on LR6.14 with an underexposed DNG. Found it unaltered between Library and develop when using 1:1. Found it entirely resolved when I removed the preference for "Use smart Previews instead of Origianls" Thanks for the hint.

Thank you for that. I had the same issue and swapped the ICC custom color profile of my monitor to the standard sRGB profile as you showed here, problem solved!

That's an OS (Finder) issue that has nothing to do with Camera Raw. My 5D and 5DMII CR2's do show a thumbnail FWIW.

Should be resizable. But if the GUI extends past what you can control, try altering your display resolution so you can see the entire GUI, size it down a lot smaller, then maybe change it back to the original resolution.

That is a common problem, and not necessarily “user error.” Many users are tripped up by the AirPrint driver getting installed by default, that driver is not fully featured. The fix is exactly what you did: Make sure to download and install the fully featured driver. But none of that is obvious, you’d have to know or be told to do that. Sounds like you are referring to Camera Matching Profiles (to match a JPEG from camera?). Otherwise really, best approach is to create your own custom DCP camera profiles based on the illuminant used. ” Support for a particular flavor of a camera’s raw file does not necessarily mean that there will be Camera Matching profiles for that camera at the time of raw file support. It is normal for Camera Matching profiles to follow raw support by one or two releases. In the case of some camera manufacturers or the event of major changes by a particular manufacturer, that time may be greatly increased. If Photoshop and Lightroom are the same, the monitor profile is most likely fine, and they are both correct. Eveerything else that is not the same, is not properly color managed and not correct. When you don't know how it will be seen by others, it is particularly important that you do it right on your end. How other people choose to set up their systems, or what platform they want to use, is really not your problem, and there is very little reason to worry about it. Just do it right, and anyone out there who cares enough can take care of themselves. If they want to see it correctly, they can.

I have the same issue on iMac. Folowed your suggestion thedigitaldog but the problem remains. I need to hard reboot my iMac every time it freezes, it appears to happen when I use the sharpening tool in Camera Raw. OS is Catalina.

I totally agree with all the comments too. The new versions of Camera RAW have increased my workflow and edit times. Really bad idea to emulate Lightroom layout. And now whenever I update Photoshop it automatically updates RAW even though I specifically never update that manually any more. Nightmare

As of today, indeed, there is not yet support for the Z6II. All I can say today is, this will change shortly so keep an eye out from Adobe about updates to ACR/LR for native support of this camera.

Do you know where on your hard drive the presets reside? Have you tried importing them using the contextual menu below?

A few months on and I now have the exact same problem as described by the OP. Rather than recreating each pre-set completely I just chose the folder that the pre-set should have saved as the export destination when it was first created (and did until last week) then right clicked on the pre-set and selected Update with Current Settings. That has worked so far. I have a lot of presets that all save to different folders so it will be a while until I know whether this is a definite fix.

Yet again, I had to roll back to Camera Raw 10.5. The CTRL-Zoom option just draws a dashed box around the selection, it doesn't actually zoom. The new zoom method makes no sense to me. Also, generally speaking, the layout of the new Camera RAW was a completely unnecessary change. Yes, I could probably get used to the new environment, but why should I? It seems that everytime Adobe pushes out an update, my workflow grinds to a halt while I relearn how to do the tasks that I've been doing for 15+ years.

Adobe Camera Raw version 13.0.2 now supports VSCO Presets in the Presets Tab in the far right menu. 🙂

Hi Andrew, I visited your site, which is very interesting ; I learnt a lot in your very clear videos (not yet watched all of them...). I am still struggling with the screen white point to be used for the best soft proofing and why. I understand the soft proofing rendering table in the ICC profile is made for D50 illuminant. Does it mean that it works only for a white point at 5000K? That's not what I experienced and what we can read in reference Web sites (between 5000 and 6500) or books (Jeff Schewe is advising 6500K!). I am sorry to insist, but my engineering background makes me go deeper and deeper... Thanks a lot for all the valuable information you already gave to me. Best regards, Philippe (phfsly)
