If you go to the layout in Output Set-up pod and expand it, you'll see two pages. The home page and the topic page. Right click the topic page and set is as default. You can then remove the home page as well.

Are you comfortable with CSS? The Indigo layout contains a separate Theme1.css file that holds all formatting and colours used in the layout. You can use that file to change the font size. For example, in the Theme1.css you'll find a selector for formatting all the sidebars. You can use that to change the font size. Just be careful: if you change the font size on the entire sidebar, the search fields and buttons will also be enlarged. So it will be a little playing until you get it just right. I think this problem has to do with the language file. On the front page of the Indigo Layout, do you see the welcome text? Or do you immediately get the search form? In this case, can you try: Close RoboHelp. Backup the !Language! folder Remove the contents of the !Language! folder. Trash the CPD. Reopen RoboHelp and generate again. When you do this, the language file gets recreated and you should now see the text show up. (Not on the button though, that's a different issue.) IF this fails, you can also create a new project and copy the !Language! folder over to your existing project. That should also update the language resource.

The title of the Favorites button is indeed a problem in the JavaScript. Adobe is aware of this issues and I'm hoping they'll fix this in the upcoming patch. As a workaround, you could set the title of the button manually in the HTML code of the layout. Nothing much to be done otherwise at this point. As for the second issue: What is the behaviour that you see? Does the title get obscured by links? How many favorites did you add for the problem to show?

Hi, This requirement is not very hard. It only requires some setting up as the original twisties script expected images to be switched. But nothing a little find and replace can't fix. I have noticed this as well and I have seen that there is a change in the CSH JavaScript that changes the behaviour from previous versions. There are two ways around this that I know of: Open URL's using index.htm#<relative path> This works like a charm but you need to know the relative path and URL encode it. So no upgrade path if you are using CSH through ID's. By adding a small script in your topics, you can force the skin to be shown. Nothing needs to change and your users will never see the 'show' link. It basically returns to the behaviour of RH2015. The downside is that this particular script doesn't discriminate between CSH calls and regular links where you may want to just open the topic. Though the script can be amended. Simply add the script below to the bottom of your topics. You can use a master page footer or manually add the code before the </body> tag. The easy way is to delete the layout from the project and add it once again from the Gallery. Does that help? It's strange that the file would become corrupted. Any changes made to the layout recently?

Hi Marino, The event delivers the full path of the word document that was updated as a parameter. From there, you can parse the linked word document XML to find the topics that are linked to the document. As you have probably found, ExtendScript offers various low level features, so more advanced stuf like this requires more work. In my ExtendScript library I use the following code to get the linked files: var Xpath = "//genfile/filename"; var loadFilesThatAreLinked = function(filepath) { var LinkedFiles = new Array(); var ContainerFile = new File(filepath); if(ContainerFile.exists) { var ContainerXML = new XML(readFile(ContainerFile)); var LinkedFilesinContainer = ContainerXML.xpath(Xpath).children(); for(var i = 0; i< LinkedFilesinContainer.length();i++) { LinkedFiles.push(LinkedFilesinContainer.toString()); } return LinkedFiles; } else { return null; } } LinkedWordDocs = loadFilesThatAreLinked(projectpath()+WordContainer); In here, I simply use an XPath to get all topics from a linked Word document, not from a specific Word document. This might be a good starting point. But you'll want to do it a little differently: Load the projects RHWordDoc.apj. Either as an XML object as above or as a token. This might be easier because of the next step. Iterate through the Word documents until you find the document that was updated. <word_doc> <file_name>..\..\..\..\..\Desktop\Verduidelijking eis 6 Noordoostpolder.docx</file_name> IF you want to get just the file name (if that's sufficient), use the filename() function from my library on the file path. Once you found the correct word document, check the '/genfile/filename' element to find which topics belong to the word document. Iterate through the topics and update them.

Captiv8r​ just helped me remember that there is an easy way in RoboHelp 2017. The new Indigo Layout allows you to specify custom links through the editor. You can add a text and a link and that's all. So you could simply add the links in the Indigo to switch between languages.

To add a button, you have to add some code to the Topic.slp. For the Azure Blue layout, you could: Open Topic.slp in Notepad Find <div class="functionholder"> Below the 'buttons', add a new link. For example: <div><a href="https://www.example.com">English</a></div> Add some styling Generate the output.

So you have 2 separate outputs as described in the blog post? Honestly, I wouldn't handle translation that way. I would add every language to it's own project and generate from there. Then add a button to the skin to switch between the outputs. It makes managing content easier and you don't have to juggle with the different languages in the project. When you send files for translation, you can simply send the entire project to the translator and let them send you a translated file back.

It needs to go into the Screen Layout (Topic.slp) of the layout. But it's a bit more complicated. The RH search is integrated with the layout and all kinds of events are handeled when a search is started: search results are made visible, other panes will be closed, etc. And then you have the option to show search results in the sidebar or in the topic area. The easiest try is to replace the search field in the Topic.slp with the Google snippet and replacing the Search results widget in the Topic.slp. Perhaps t works. But I haven't tried it with RoboHelp before. In the layout, search for 'wSearchField': that will get you the search input field. Search for: '<?rh-msp-search-results-start' that will get you the start of the search results code

What do you mean by that it doesn't appear? Is the pane loaded but no TOC items are shown? Or something else? Could you post a screen shot? Which version of RoboHelp are you using? And which Screen Layout?

It seems that I misunderstood the issue. If it is about the RoboHelp version installed, the only way I can think of is what Peter indicates: uninstall and reinstall RoboHelp. Just avoid installing the patches. Though the patches contain several enhancements for the output that you may want to include though.

While not ideal, many people copy in some content after generating the output. So while not ideal, it does work. In my ExtendScript webinar I showed how to create a script to automatically copy files from a template directory whenever you create an output. And the webinar also contains a sample script that you can use. Perhaps that will help: Getting Started with ExtendScript for RoboHelp 2015 – TechComm Central by Adobe Also, for the CSS rewriting, I think it would be worthwhile to log a bug with Adobe about this: Tracker If you log the bug, Adobe can verify it and hopefully fix it as well. You could create a script that goes through the topics. But if you're up to regular expressions, that may be much simpler to implement. RoboHelp's find and replace pod supports them out of the box. But please: Make a backup first! @Peter: Is there something to keep in mind when using regex in RoboHelp? Some expressions you can use. They're really simple, but this is easier than trying to make it complicated. For the start of the expression: (<\?rh-expandspot_start)[^\?]{1,}(\?>) For the end of the expression: (<\?rh-expandspot_end)[^\?]{1,}(\?>) For the expanding text start tag: (<\?rh-expandtext_start)[^\?]{1,}(\?>) For the expanding text end tag: (<\?rh-expandtext_end)[^\?]{1,}(\?>) After you run it, run Tools > Update DHTML to clean out any leftover JavaScript or leftover HTML. You can use regular expressions for the JavaScript cleanup as well, but that becomes complicated fast, because that does more than expanding hotspots. The Update DHTML fixes it as well.

Well, you can use Windows for Responsive HTML5. And as with WebHelp, IE will show the ActiveX warning. But only when viewed locally of course. You can add a mark of the web to avoid that. But I haven't had issues with CSH before because of this warning.

In addition, the update may have triggered a rewrite of the CSS by RoboHelp. Do you have an old version of the topic CSS lying around? Try restoring the CSS. Also, was the URL changed somehow (by RH in the code)? Another thing to try: In the output, update the CSS so that it works. Then copy your changes back to the RH version of the CSS file and generate again. Does it still corrupt then?

To rule out the permission issue, could you try (temporarily) making the user you use for publishing as site collection admin? My first thought is to check the path length. Windows doesn't allow paths over 256 characters. Can you map the SharePoint library to a network drive letter in your Windows and publish using that?

Ah, the great challenge of 'can it be done'. Although Rick gave the sensible answer, I couldn't resist tinkering with this a bit to see whether I could get it to work with RoboHelp. Can you create a second frame in the output to show other content? Yes. Is it simple? No. But really much simpler than I imagined 🙂 Will it be useful? Probably not. I think you're better of by embedding a syntax highligher and using dropdown texts. But nonetheless, here goes nothing; PoC Output: Multi Window HTML5 test PoC Project: http://robohelp.wvanweelden.eu/poc/html5_multi_window/Multi Window HTML5 test.zip I created a blank skin containing only the topic view and an additional iframe. I removed all the other widgets to avoid problems with the layouts. In the topic, I added three links: one regular link, one link to a topic in te project and a link to an external site. In the link, type the name of the iframe you want to load the content: Generate the output. Of course, going this route requires more research, but it seems that it can be done. To get back to your question as to what it would involve: A custom Screen Layout that includes the additional iFrame. It must be tested whether the RH scripts (for search, TOC, etc.) will work when there are two iframes in the skin. Links that should open in the iframe have to be amened as above. Also, I have no idea whether you can set these frame options in FM Markers. Perhaps you can, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Are you looking to change the point where the layout switches from Desktop to Tablet? This is controlled through media queries in the css. In the CSS, you'll find the following media queries: @media screen and (max-width: 43.68em) -> small pones @media screen and (min-width: 43.69em) and (max-width: 59.49em) -> tablet in portrait @media screen and (min-width: 59.5em) and (max-width: 80.99em) -> tablet in landscape @media screen and (min-width: 81em) -> desktop To change the so called 'break point', find and replace all occurrences of the relevant media query and change it however you want. Just make sure that if you change the width, you will also have to update the other queries to make sure there is no gap. For example, say that you want to change the desktop view to be available from 1025px upwards (as 1024px width is an ipad in landscape). The current desktop is 1296px or wider (81 x 16). You first count the EM measure: 1025 / 16 = 64.0625 Lets make that 64em. You change the desktop: @media screen and (min-width: 64em) But now you have an overlap between tablet landscape and desktop because landscape goes up to 80.99. So now you change tablet desktop as follows: @media screen and (min-width: 59.5em) and (max-width: 63.99em) In RoboHelp 2015 and up, this setting is included in the RoboHelp GUI, so things will get better. For now, you're limted to doing it through the CSS.
