Yup, sounds like you have a corrupt file on your hands. Try placing it in ID. Export as an EPS and open in Ai. HTH

Did you try opening it in Ai to confirm that it is not creating a line or if it indeed is an Acrobat artifact? In Acrobat, try disabling Show art, trim and bleed boxes from Preferences > Page Display HTH

This will only work on dark backgrounds. You will notice the artist has created highlights at key junctions on the artwork. To achieve this: Decide on you background color. Draw a circle the size of the highlight (This must be in front). Draw a larger circle the same color as the background. Select both and choose Object > Blend > Make. More info here. It might be an artifact. Open the exported PDF in Ai. Select Object and Release it from the Clipping Mask Select your object and interrogate properties on the Appearance Panel HTH

You may want to try clearing the Adobe font cache. See here for more info: Troubleshoot fonts in Adobe applications | Mac OS X Quit all Adobe Apps. Search for .lst files delete Delete Adobe.lst files. Start up an Adobe App. Will take longer to load as it rebuilds the the font caches HTH

You have a couple of options. Image > Adjust > Show /Highlights. An S-Curve. A tighter crop. Pay attention to the rule of thirds for aesthetically pleasing results HTH

It sounds counter-intuitiv right? I found that with too high a res, Ai tries to fiddle with almost every pixel giving a poorer result than at a lower res. Within reason of course. Please let us know how it goes.

As Monika said you've got a banding problem. Add a small amount of black to your green color stop. A percent or 2. You won't be able to see it, but it should help. HTH

Live Trace does quite well at lower resolutions and smaller dimensions. You might want to try that too. It tends to choke a little with higher res and sizes. HTH

This is because of the conversion of RGB to CMYK. Is this a print job you're working on? If yes you may want to consider converting the document Mode to CMYK. Image > Mode > CMYK Color. If you need to keep your document RGB, I suggest a high-quality CMYK profile like FOGRA 39. You'll find this under Edit > Color Settings. The default is SWOP. HTH

I suggest the Color Overlay fx from the Layers Panel. This will give you fine control over opacity and blending modes whilst remaining non-destructive and live. HTH

Hi, Having written these oh too many times, I recommend the following for your prep: Download the ACE Exam Bulletin from here. Photoshop CC 2015 Download the Photoshop User Manual from here. Adobe Photoshop - Adobe Support Work through each of the topic areas in the bulletin thoroughly. You will need to do some research on some topic areas by way of google and forum searches. Work through each of these in the application and make sure you understand them. I've tried a couple of these Exam Aids and I found this method worked best for me. HTH

Adobe's mobile apps may be helpful to you. You might want to look at Ai Draw and Ps Sketch. Adobe mobile, iPhone, iPad, Android apps | Adobe Creative Cloud A note your current method: If you have Illustrator, you can bring the scan into Illustrator and use Image Trace to give you a vector trace that you can then take over to Ps. If you don't, you can crisp out the lines and clean up the background by using the levels panel and using the highlight (white) and shadow (black) eyedroppers to increase the contrast. HTH
