Coming in late here but may I suggest something. What is your displays resolution set at (recommended) . If not that have you tried doing a clean install of your video card driver, "not via windows," but rather the video cards website.

Ok, what your saying about brightness makes sense. However when I use the spyder 4 pro to calibrate the monitor it choose 120 which turns out on my monitor setting of 44 brightness. If I turn the brightness down to match the print it ends up around 4. Doesn't that throw off the colors? Confused!!

I just came across a frustrating problem in PS and LR. In PS there is no way to adjust a photo by F-stops. In LR you can adjust by F-stops but when you import to photoshop is messes with the photos dimension. I did not touch or alter the dimensions in LR but it reduces the photo size by 2/3rds no matter what photo I open in PS from LR. I just want to increase the brightness by 2/3 stops, edit and print from PS. Or if possible to get my printer to print what I see on screen. My monitor in calibrated with a spyder 4 pro. The prints are coming out darker than what I see on the screen. PS 2017 HP officejet pro 8600

When you create your path, are you saving it each time. If I follow your video, mine does the same thing when I create a new shape. If I save each one than is reacts normally.

I would try using the quick select tool to first select the pattern. Than convert the selection to a minimal path and shape it how you want it. a bit of work but possible.

I also have pretty much the same setup . Did you run samsungs magician and set it for performance If so, go into windows services and enable superfetch. On my 6 core I7 it helps. Other than that it is a glitch in PS.

Does it only happen with this image, if so it maybe the moire pattern. If you you'll have better luck with the square marquee selection tool. Also make a copy of your background layer.

Did this in about 5 minutes with 2017 but used refine edge. Not sure what you're looking for other than feather detail. To get to the old refine edge first make your selection. 2 go to the Select menu, "not the button" 3 hold Shift and click on Select and mask No other fine tuning was used, just Select and refine edge! Not Select & Muddy This works for all version since Select and Mask was introduced.

Dave, fortunately for you, the old refine edge is still there. 1) Make Selection 2) go to the Select menu, not the button. 3) Hold Shift and click on Select and Mask The old reliable Refine edge will open. Any question, give a yell!!

Sabrina. As Dave suggested, it's advised to make a selection before clicking ion select & Mask. Although you can do it from within also. It might be the view mode you're select and mask is set to at the top, try changing this. But if you're more familiar with Refine edge, it is still available in the latest versions. 1) Just first make a selection. 2) then open the Select menu, "Not the button." 3) hold shift and click in the menu "Select and mask. The old Refine edge will open

Yes I tried the above which did speed up the save but nothing like in the previous version. Sorry about not posting system specs as I also tell others the same thing. I've noticed since upgrading to the latest version, the time taken to sav a psd file has quadrupled in time. Has anyone come across this or just me. Also the amount of memory use has increased also.

Nornally I would use the quick selection or tragic wand o make a selection. If I wanted to add or adjust an edge I would outline it with the pen tool, right click and choose add to selection. However now in 2017 the options are grayed out. is it mine or does everyone have this issue. TIA

Awhile ago I created a snow brush and put it in my CC library incase I lost in if my PC crashes. I just created a new brush and for the life of me I can't remember how I move it into my library. Would appreciate it if someone would jog my memory. TIA

If it doesn't work, go into PS preferences under graphics processor settings and turn off OpenCL. fixes it on most cards.

bethanias. Am not sure how far you want to dig into this but there's a utility called "process monitor" from Microsoft that can be used to monitor what a program creates when running. It may help you find out what exactly is causing this problem so the techs at adobe can help you better.

Bethania. try this and see if it make a difference. make the scratch disc the same as the system disc which should be C:\ on most systems. Just to see if it makes a difference
