No news really to report. We're aware of it and plan to fix it in a future release of Photoshop.

Sorry for the frustration kjg48359, I have a couple suggestions: 1. Try changing the font preview preference to not display font previews Preferences > Type > Uncheck Font Preview Size Restart PSE 2. Have you tried launching and using PSE in a new administrator user yet? Seems that would be a good test. 3. Also, which version of Windows are you working on?

My suggestions above have worked for several people. Have you tried the suggestions in this thread yet? Try uninstalling your USB hubs from the device manager and reboot so they get reinstalled. See if that helps. Let us know.

I'm able to reproduce the shift using these steps. It seems the Texture Each Tip box is the deciding factor if the behavior happens or not. With TET checked, I was not able to reproduce.
I also notice that on Mac (10.8.2), when you OK out of the Fade Brush tool dialog, the altered look gets saved to the pixels. Actually changes the brush stroke data.
But, when you OK out on Windows 7, the visual changes to the pixels shift back so there wasn't a change applied (unless you actually made some opacity changes or somesuch). The brush stroke data is not affected, although in the FBTool dialog the preview is definitely distorting with TET unchecked.
Thanks for writing out these steps, I'll log and have it investigated. Nice find guys.

Looks like one of our engineers was able to reproduce this. I'll log the bug and we'll see about getting a fix out in a future update.

Thanks for the video.
I'll pass it on to the type engineers to have a look at it.
I still haven't been able to reproduce on my end using the same OS and PS version.
Will see what we can find out.
Have you tried resetting your preferences yet? That could be causing the odd behavior.
Try restoring your prefs: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usin...
Does that change the behavior? or Make it less/more consistent?

Hey Daniel,
I just tried several times to get it to reproduce on 2 different systems and haven't been able to reproduce yet.
If the mouse cursor is in a dialog screen/panel field that accepts arrow key movements (like many in the character panel), then I notice that the shortcut gets focused in the dialog rather than adjusting the kerning.
If I click away from the panel by clicking to the type layer, and make sure the text is selected, alt+arrows (left and right) adjust the kerning every time for me.
Maybe you could record a video of the behavior you're seeing?
Or you may just Try restoring your prefs: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usin...
It may just be a corrupted preference related behavior

Good Day Sal09f-1, If you haven't already installed and activated your suite on a second computer, you still have 1 activation left and will be able to install and activate successfully. If you have already a second computer with the suite installed and activated, you will want to chat or speak with customer service to assist with recovering the activation allowance. You can chat with an agent here (click the link and wait for a minute or so for the chat to pop up), or if you'd prefer, the phone number is on the page: http://www.adobe.com/products/activation/phonenumbers.html

This comment was posted 3 months ago and is still a valid workaround if you have not installed the 13.0.1 update, but is unnecessary now.

Hello MeeShellTheNerd, and all, Several users have reported a resolution after an uninstall, and reinstall of Photoshop CS6, then applying the update either through the updater (easiest), or manually. After the uninstall/reinstall the update installed perfectly. Give this a try please. Thanks Pete

Hi Darknesis, Can you try some of the suggestions above like reinstalling your usb hubs if you have any? Uninstall them from the device manager, then reboot, then try the import again. Let us know how that goes. If you're still crashing after that, you can send the crash dumps to me: Email the crash dumps you get to petgreen (at) adobe (dot) com in the bug report.

Kat, I've sent you an email directly in addition to this response. We've worked with one user directly -- http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_4_crashes_on_importing_files#topic_3813877 He uninstalled his USB controllers from device manager in windows 7, as well as uninstalling his USB hubs from device manager. Rebooted computer, allowed windows to reinstall the drivers, then LR was able to import with success several times, when it wasn't working at all even once. See if you can try something similar with your setup and let us know how it goes Thanks! Pete
