Careeesa, that's exactly what I did and it opened in the LR Desktop app. I added some info and then clicked on Share, which resulted in the black&blue spinner and message "This edit is still processing. Please come back later." The image was originally edited in LrC and then "added" inside LR Desktop with all edits visible. I had a custom camera profile assigned and got an error message that they weren't supported. I changed the profile to Adobe Color so that shouldn't be the issue.   Let me check it again and see if it processed. Guess what–It worked. If you are sure there are no other DNG files you want to keep use Finder and sort by extension .dng on the containing folder(s). Try resetting your LrC Preferences file. It is not updated when you do a reinstall and may be corrupted. Move the .plist file to your desktop as outlined at the below article. Adobe is using SQLite for the LrC catalog database, which is single-user. From their testing they found it to be unreliable in a number of NAS applications. Moving to multi-user SQL would be much more expensive causing Adobe to raise the monthly rates significantly. Is there a reason why you have created two LrC catalogs? Best advice is to use only one (1) catalog.   Concerming what files and folders to backup the Previews.lrdata and Smart Prveiws. lrdata folders do not need to be backed up since they can be recreated if you have a drive corruption. Use the below LrC Catalog Setting to prompt for catalog backup on every closing of LrC. I suggest using this backup method after every editing session that would be painful if you had to redo them. There's no need to remove all of the files first and then the folder. In the future you can just right-click on the containing folder and select 'Remove from Lightroom' and then do your reorganization using File Explorer. If the files in the June 1, 2021 catalog backup file have been edited, but not changed since that date then there's no harm in doing as I suggested. Using that catalog archive file you will add a keyword to all of the files in each collection with the collection name. Then use CTRL + S to save the added keywords and Develop data to XMP. You can then open your current working catalog and use the Filter bar to search by each catalog name for the associated files. If you have catalog backups try loading each of them to see if any of the collections that have the missing images are populated. If so add a keyword to those image files with the name of the collection they should be in and then CTRL + S to save them and your settings to XMP files. The plan is to always have the catalog and the photos on two external drives plus in a cloud."   For the LrC Catalog backup I suggest using the below settings. This will prompt you to backup the LrC Catalog everytime you exit Lightroom. I suggest doing the backup after every editing session that would be painful if you had to do the editing all over because of a corrupted catalog issue. The resulting ZIP backup file should be copied to a separate external drive used just for backup and to the Web with whatever cloud storage you would like to use. Ditto for your photos, which should be backed up when copied from your cameras to your primary working HDD for pictures. I suggest using a file synchronization software for this purpose so that new picture files can be added, modified files updated, and deleted files removed automatically. Your working LrC catalog should be on an SSD if available. There is no differnce in reliabilty between an SSD and HDD, but they both can fail. This is why you need a good backup plan for both the LrC catalog and your photos. All of the setttings in Edit> Preferences will be changed to their default settings. You will also have to reinstall cutom plugins you have added. I keep a Word document with screenshots of each Preferences tab so I can change them back to my settings. Select the file and go to menu Photo> Enhance. This applies both Raw Details to increase the image detail AND increases the pixel dimensions by 2x (4x megapixels) using an algorrithm that retains more image detail. You could also use the Export module Image sizing to increase the file to 300 dpi at 38 7/8 inch X 27 inch. However, photo lab RIPs will probably do a better job of the upscaling and output sharpening so I would just export the Ehanced DNG file without resizing and send that to the photo lab. I'm well aware of everything you mention. LrC Folders panel is contained entirely in the catalog file with no direct connection to Windows File Explorer. Moving, renaming, or deleteing files, folders, or drives from outside of LrC will cause LrC to lose it's connection to those assets. For those like your self who choose to add a drive name using Window's Disk Management it shouldn't be that difficult for Adobe to add that information to the LrC catalog database. This of course is a Windows only "Idea" and it can be implemented that way as the issue does not exist for Mas systems. That is what you requested in your original post and I agree it is a shortcoming that Adobe could address. Adobe could add recording of both the drive letter and assigned name in the LrC catalog database. That shouldn't be difficult and would reolve the issue on Windows systems.
