Ok I went back an re-read everything I made a selection of some of the rocks and then used the Gaussian Blur filter and got a blur - see attached Its not as cool as I thought but I did it! Thoughts?

here is the file - I want to blur the left side - but the blur tool does nothing. My mistake with the blur filter was opening it in quick mode and it showed the white box In the filter tho I paint the rock and it turns light pink but the filter does. nothing for me I am sure it is my fault but I dont know why

Hopefully this isn't just me being dense. i have a photograph of a rock wall the image goes left to right. i want to blur half the wall I select the blur tool and paint the area but nothing gets blurred. what am I doing wrong? thanks

Yes. I was trying to locate the sun in a notch on the tree. Not a great shot I agree. I was then curious if, apart from using ACR, there was a PS technique I didn't know to just work on that one area. untried to use the burn tool. I tried to select the area of the starburst and use an adjustment layer. All of this looked fake that's what I am asking help with

I shot right into the sun and have a starburst which I would like to trim down When I have used the burn tool it looked way fake When I used the lasso or the rectangle marquee tool and adjusted exposure it was clearly a manipulation as it stuck out as adjusted I am sure there is a way to do this but I don't know how to do it so it doesnt look like a rectangle or an oval in the middle of the image Photo attached and thanks Mark

Thanks for the testing for some reason when I use Edit With --->Photoshop it sends a JPEG over even tho I started with Apple ProRAW. Let me keep trying now that there isn't a missing setting. thanks
