Well, today, for the first time (ever) I'm seeing this issue. ctrl-M does nothing...export to media encoder does nothing...dragging a sequence from my project panel into Media Encoder does nothing (it looks promising...the "creting queue items from project" progress bar appears for ~10secs and the progress bar grows...and then...it disappear and there's nothing in the Queue). This is the same project I've been working on for about a week, and I'd updated nothing; this morning PPro was working fine, but now it's found a sequence that it refuses to export. All the sequences in my project are made up of essentially the same thing: the main footage is MXF files (all from the same camera, same shoot, same day) plus some WAV audio files, a colour grade adjustment layer and not much else. I've tried turning off (and on) the hardware acceleration, I've now updated my Nvidia drivers (and restarted a few times) to no avail. It's only the one sequence that fails to export. Ah! It's the subtitles causing the issue. I created a new (empty) sequence, then copied and pasted EVERYTHING from the dodgy sequence to the new one....tried to export....nothing. I then deleted ALL the (3 tracks) subtitles, and it can now export ok. If I merely turn off the subtitle track (I've now condensed/deleted the subtitles into ONE track) it still can't export - I have to have NO subtitle tracks. Incidentally, I now have media > H264/HEVC hardware acceleration back ON - changing this has no effect on anything. SOLUTION: As I've been typing this, I've been trying allo kinds of things. I created a new subtitle track, and alt-dragged the subtitles to the new track, switched the old subtitle track to "invisible", and exported fine!!!! Weird. I've tried both the beta (25.3.0x3) and release versions of PPro, but get the same problem. I'm on Windows 10 with an RTX3090 24GB VRAM GPU. AMD Ryzen 5950X 16 core CPU, 128GB RAM, plenty of HD space.

Except, it turns out, for docking my Project Panel, a fate worse than death for a dual-monitor addict like me.

I faced the same problem, and all the things that you mentioned,@Hexsus . VLC media player Convert stream to mp4 also works for some as shown in many YouTube tutorials, but my VLC always stuck at the end giving overwrite or keeping the existing file option, tried all day, but it was no use. The simplest trick that worked for me, was to show the extension name from Windows Preview and rename it to mp4. Now my clip is running fine in Premiere Pro.

It's 2025 and I'm having this issue (in Premiere 2025). It's only a smattering of clips in my timeline. And I can load them into the source window and reveal in project from there. Make no sense. It should be noted that Reveal in Finder is greyed out because this is a multicam clip, and doesn't live as a file in a directory, as such. I always thought Premiere was a well-oiled machine at this point, but I'm having all manner of bizarre bugs pop up.

I messed around and found another solution if you don't recall which project you created it in: - Open your computer's search bar & search for the exact title of your caption style. It should pop up a ".PRTEXTSTYLE" file. - Right click on it/open file location. It should then take you to the folder where all the caption styles are saved, regardless of which project you saved it in. - From there you can delete what caption styles you dont want and then restart Premiere Pro! However, simply renaming the file does not change it in premire pro. I attached some screenshots below if needed! 🙂

I have no idea what issues you're having. Have you tried any of the 24.x builds, let alone the 25.x we're now a couple versions into? There have been many fixes of issues and massive changes. And of course, you can install new versions alongside and test without losing anything.

This bug seems to have crept up again in the 2025 version of Premiere. Alphas work fine in my project until I close it out and then when I open it again this outline issue happens. both in preview and program. When I deleted out and re-imported the transparent .mov file it worked again, but happens again when I close/open. Are there any plans to resolve this issue in Premiere Pro 2025?

It's hard to tell for me, from your file path if that is to the Adobe Program folder or to your user preferences folder:
Here's the User Prefs Keyboard shortcut folder in Windows: (Just paste it in to File Explorer)
%UserProfile%\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\Profile-Gene\Win
The above is where your customized files are saved. There has been instances of a bad install where that folder is empty. For the Adobe default files, they are located here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2025\Keyboard Shortcuts\en
If you are missing the default files in your User Prefs folder, then the thing to do, would be to copy them in from the program folder, but don't modify those in any way. With this, everyting would work on Windows.
If you can share the two paths from a Mac, that would be good.

I am guessing you do not want to crop your video (which means cutting off the edges of your video, The black bars are not part of your video but rather empty space within the frame) but rather your video fits the frame without the black bars?
If so:
You need to set up a sequence that matches your footage.
Most simple way is to right click on a clip in the Project Window and hit New Sequence from clip.
If its correct you can go and edit this sequence and delete the old one (sequence 02)

This has been verified as fixed for Pr25.1 Beta (039). So you can install a recent Beta build or wait for the Pr 25.1 release to see the fix. Please let us know how the fix works out for you.

Regardless of session size, whenever I ripple delete or even move clips left and right Premiere Pro 24.0 handles it just fine for a few minutes, then gets incredibly slow to the point of waiting over 5 seconds per ripple delete. Despite the performance upgrades 24.0 offered, this is incredibly infuriating especially for such a common and simple command. I've tested this with different PP versions and seems to only be an issue in 23.6 and onward. I've tested with different computers, different sessions and different file types after clearing caches, uninstallin/reinstalling, disabling prefs, disabling third party aps, everything I can think of. Even different OS. How is this still a problem. This has made premiere completely unsuable for any form of serious project. Specs: Intel 13900k Nvidia 4090 64 gigs DDR5 4, 4TB 7200mbs M.2 NMVEs and a bunch of other fancy bs that's not the issue. Tried on both Windows 10 and 11. Latest drivers on everything.

This is happening to me today, after the entire mess that was the Mac OS update with the permissions setting, now I cannot even transcribe the video to be able to make captions. I chose to pay for Premiere Pro because supposedly these features work. Please advise, something else than updating the software or hardware issues, the mac is from 2023,   and solely used for editing............... when it works.

Try using "reset to saved layout" in Window/Workspaces (shortcut should be Atl+Shift+0). I'm still in Windows 10 using CC 2023.

this did not work for me. I even put the proxies in the trash. The ONLY thing that worked was indivudually clicking OFFLINE for each of the 802 clips... it sucked but only took about ten minutes once I figured it out.. this is a bug that really needs to be fixed. Thanks everyone!

Just curious I see an application shortcut in 2024 for reveal in explorer that works from the timeline for a selected clip. But no reveal in finder? The reveal in explorer was in PR2020, but I can't open my copy of 2019 and it wasn't in CS6.

@Kevin-MonahanI am seeing no difference personally. My biggest gripe personally with the current behaviour is that trying to use "Go to Previous/Next Edit Point on Any Track" does not work while the effect controls window is active no matter what its hotkey is. For a normal user this probably doesn't matter that much, but I have the hotkey bound to my mouse wheel as it can tilt - meaning the only way for me to get around this limitation is programatically focusing a bunch of other windows to eventually focus the timeline. Which is only necessary because using the hotkey to focus the timeline will swap sequences if the timeline is already the focused window (a whole separate rant). Ultimately it just creates a whole bunch of annoyances as sometimes focusing multiple windows rapidly lands you with strange behaviours, or premiere almost getting stuck , etc etc. If this behaviour was only broken due to my hotkey of choice being the default up/down key (since those keys have other functions when a value is selected in the effect control window for example, or other functions in other windows) I could understand that and would simply add another hotkey, but it just doesn't work unless the timeline is selected regardless which makes it feel like more of a bug to me more than just a failure in language or a general oversight.
