Did adobe actually bake these adverts into an update, and they'll persist until the next upgrade?! actual scumbag behaviour, guys, totally unacceptable!

hi, Photoshop 21.1.0 mac. eyedropper tool hangs photoshop when sampling from second window 100% repeatable. (tho doesn't hang if using application frame, only floating windows) have to force quit so it's not triggering the bug reporter. version 21.0.3 works fine. tried switching off gpu acceleration with no luck. edit/ hang doesn't occur if the window is given focus first, only if it's sampled without bringing to front

hey thanks, i know you can use the text file to change it back, but i'd bit the bullet and tried to retrain, because plainly this is the direction of travel for adobe, presumably to get consistency across desktop and touch devices - i'm just dumbstruck they appear to have released it half finished?!

if there's no shift key used to free transform stuff proportionately, why did you leave the old shift transform behavior on vector shapes? or is my system weird?

when i start photoshop cc2018 i get an adobe dimentions advert everytime i use warp tool for the first time. i click close, (and not the "later" button) but it comes back. it's like one of those 'orrible rich tool tips (tool tips and rich tooltips are set to off.) it's an irritation rather than a show stopper, and i assume this is a bug not a feature?

ok, so this is a terrible hack, but it might save a deadline for someone here. i 'm assuming we're all mac with this specific wacom bug: if you quit the WacomTabletDriver in activity viewer then re-launch it as root, it seems to behave. drawbacks- it will not switch between app specific settings, you have to just use the "all other" settings to set up although you're running the driver as root, it appears relatively safe, you can't ditch system files or accidentally do damage, but if you don't know why running things as root is a bad idea, probably best not to! the driver you need to quit then relaunch is at /library/application support/tablet/ either use sudo in the terminal or i used an app to do it the lazy way. YOU'LL NEED A MOUSE OR TRACKPAD because the Cintiq won't move the cursor when you quit the driver. you need to quit all wacom processes in activity viewer but only re- launch WacomTabletDriver.app remember, this is a hacky solution and i'm only sharing my findings not recommending them! (which is why i'm not including a copy/paste-able terminal command)

mac wacom cintiq users- got the wacom sticking mod key bug in photoshop? remove the wacom driver using the wacom utility in the applications folder (but don't delete your prefs) then reinstall the drivers. then FORCE QUIT INSTALLER AND DONT REBOOT. it’ll work mostly ok until you reboot, then you’ll have to repeat the remove, reinstall. or until wacom fix their drivers (ha, only joking, can you imagine?!)

FYI Wacom driver update WacomTablet_6.3.17-5 for sierra still has the sticking keys problem, but the WacomTablet_6.3.15-3 driver, which works well in os x 10.11, has issues in os x 10.12 and draws stepped lines with brushes except at 100% zoom.

For those of us who cannot just go out and buy a new MacPro with 10.6 without cutting out a few months worth of food for our families, I think Adobe should consider issuing stricter requirements for older systems. Hi, apart from nvidia gpu drivers, the biggest cause of instability on my system was using old ppc apps under rosetta (they caused numerous memory errors ) it may be worth checking application monitor to weed out ppc apps or device drivers. the one which slipped by me was, ironically, a menu bar uptime clock which ran in the background and caused "memory smash errors" and eventual kernel panics I tracked all this down by trawling through the console logs, certainly worth a go.

I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on suggestions that it was my hardware or operating system or my ram memory or my cpu, fortunately I had the money to burn and I love computer equipment so I put it to use in my business.but the real problem was Adobe and the fact that it is all new code and it prefers a 64 bit operating system that is having enough problems of its own with drivers and compatibility issues any 32bit (whatever) could cause a problem. when we are all forced to move all of our programs, hardware, code, operating-systems, to 64 bits and the truly intelligent people at Adobe have enough time to work the bugs out we will have a truly remarkable program to work with. Until then there is no hope for smooth operation, wake up and smell the coffee has not this been the way of computers and there software from the very beginning. If my mother and father purchased a color TV and half way through the movie the thing froze up my parants would of returned that TV the next day and the store manager would of apologized and offered somekind of discount for their inconvenience, If a number of people had the same problem that manufacture would be out of business in a matter of months. But we on the other hand have come to just except that we are not worthy of a product that just works like it was advertised we have been conditioned to expect half baked productes sold at outrageous prices with no hope of reasonable expectations.you know I speek the truth pobox over and out. 20 years into their existence tv's were ALOT less reliable than that. the first color one's needed attention, on average once a month (it was common place to rent them with a service contract in the uk) the trick with photoshop is that it has very few killer bugs- but if you hit them, they impact you hugely. reading around the forums can often get you excellent advice on equipment and conflicting software to avoid for a more reliable system. it's more realistic to compare photoshop to the machinery in a factory, it gets the job done, but you have to stay on top of maintenance.

hi i know of 3 problems (assuming you've already upgraded your photoshop to 12.01 with the recent update) 1 the font thing 2 the gpu thing (the nvidia drivers on snowleopard 10.6.4 are badly broken- there's a fix in this thread i think) 3 there's an obscure wacom crash that disables mouse clicks, it initially looks like your computer has crashed but you can still use the keboard (expose, dashboard etc) also, 4 there's a drawing bug in the multi proccessor plug-in, but that causes a crash not a freeze

don't hit me- but you don't mention the version of snow leopard if it's 10.6.4 (you can check by choosing about this mac from the apple menu top left) it may be the graphics driver issue. after a crash, open the console (applications/utilities) and look for errors in "all messages" if there's a list of stuff containing "opengl" then that's definite. right now the only solution is to use the drivers in 10.6.3. if you aren't sure how to do this manually then you're safer reinstalling snowleopard from the dvd then running the 10.6.3 update from apple's site, but not upgrading to 10.6.4 untill the issue is fixed (turn off auto updates!) freezing on start might be a bad pref file. start photoshop holding down Command+Option+Shift and follow the prompts if all else fails reinstall.

thewocky wrote: Just chiming in....I've had the occasional freeze here and there, usually not worth much more than an eyeroll and re-launch, but now I have something consistent. I have a reasonably large (2770x1957) jpg (1.7 MB) that needs some touching up--specifically, cloning. When I use the stamp tool, it works for a few seconds and then Photoshop freezes. Consistently and always with this image. I don't use the Stamp very often so this may be the first time I've used the tool since upgrading to CS5. It freezes whether I (1) clone-and-stamp to the same layer as the original (background layer of the original jpg); (2) create a new layer, save as psd, and clone to the new layer; or (3) copy the contents of the original jpg into a new document, create a new layer, and try to clone to that. First time it happened, I had a number of other documents open totaling several hundred MB. Subsequent attempts to work on the image, even if it's the only document open, have all produced the same results. Used my old installation of CS3 instead and it worked fine. On a possibly-related note, preferences related to PS CS5 seem to be disappearing. Over the past couple I noticed dialogs appearing that I've already told not to appear anymore (something to the effect of "you have too many layers/layer groups; this file may not be readable to older versions of Photoshop"). And the PS icon disappeared from the Dock for the second time this week. Mysterious, indeed. OS 10.6.4; 2x3GHz Dual-core, 24 GB RAM. hi, the dialog prefs (and actually loads of photoshop bits including saved actions and brushes!) are only saved on quit, so if photoshop or your mac crashes these changes are lost (to repeat, this includes any new brush presets or newly created actions- madness!) so i guess you might have a corrupted PS pref file you'll have to dump, or a disk error (never hurts to run disk verify on your hdd if you've had a forced reboot) (2770x1957) ain't that big btw, PS should be able to east that for breakfast i guess there's a small chance it's a bad memory stick that's only giving you trouble if you don't usually stress PS that hard
