Thanks very much for the fast response, it is very much appreciated however I either misunderstood what you are telling me or there is something else wrong as it did not work. I have two picture tabs open and need to cut out a part of one of them and add the cut out to the other picture. When I use the select tool and select and mask I am able to get the object separated from the rest of the picture but then I am at a loss as to where to go next. I have found the solution to my problem, thanks for the tips that got me looking in right direction. With my timeline displayed I double clicked on the title slide. Make sure you can see the rectangular guidelines around your text, on the preview screen. At this point go up to the top of the screen and select Text from the tabs displayed. on the drop down menu that appears select Roll/Crawl and the adjusts will appear.   ... View more

Hi Dave I really want to thank you for your patience and advice regarding Photoshop. You have been brilliant. All that said I tried your last instructions to turn a landscape picture into a portrait. it worked to a point but when I went to the edit and fill area, the fill was all grayed out. Honestly I have given up on Photoshop it seems so fragile and to the novice like me it just keeps leading into blind alley's. I have downloaded a trail copy of Corel Paint shop, so far it seems easy to use and very intuitive. Perhaps in time I will see the benefits of Photoshop but not at the moment. Hi Dave I really appreciate your interest in my problem. Unfortunately I do not have a usable solution to my question yet. I have been trying out Photoshop cc under a one week trial. I have used most of the time just trying to get this one function to work. It feels like I have been dropped into a 103 level course without having taken the 101 and 102 courses :-). I would have thought changing a photo from Landscape to portrait would be a very fundamental requirement in photo manipulation. Any other suggestions ?.
