Thank you, I just went there, turns out this has been broken for so long I forgot I already voted and commented there too. Hopefully this new post will get new eyes and votes over there to fix a 5+ year old bug. Vote on it here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/36014584-the-bounding-box-for-lines-and-narrow-objects-does?page=1&per_page=20

I've lost track of the number of years where this has been broken. I cannot understand why is this still an issue. What's so hard about including the middle transform handles regardless of zoom level? I've been using Illustrator since Illustrator 6 and it was never an issue until a few years back. Unbelievable. Please look at the attached. Are you telling me there's not enough space to for a middle handle to appear on the right side? Seriously? Edit If you're tired of this being broken as well, give it a vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/36014584-the-bounding-box-for-lines-and-narrow-objects-does?page=1&per_page=20

After this last series of updates the error is back. Any attempts to preview a PDF in windows explorer (even within an Adobe program) causes the error again.

On Friday afternoon an "Acrobat Update Installer" started running on my machine, I didn't have time to screenshot it, but it appears things are working correctly now. I have pdf previews in Windows Explorer and no longer get the error pop up. I hope the same happened for you.

Update: It seems that the issue is related to PDF's no longer being previewed in Windows. Whenever I click on a PDF anywhere within Windows Explorer it causes the error pop up.

In the past few days whenever I try to open a PDF in Illustrator, I get a pop up from Acrobat stating "An Internal Error Occurred." So weird to have pop ups from a program that isn't even open. I'm running the latest versions of all Creative Cloud programs on Windows 10 Pro I uninstalled, AcroCleaner'd, and re-installed Acrobat and I'm still getting the issue. These things Adobe software annoyances always seem to happen when you have the most work to do.

When creating a selection with the polygonal lasso I used to be able to use the ESC key to exit out of the selection. Also, using the delete or backspace key used to allow me to go pack to a previous point in my selection. Neither of these functions are working for me anymore on Windows 10 Pro 64bit and Photoshop 23.4.2

I tried every solution in this discussion and it actually made the problem worse. Before trying the solutions Illustrator was simply slow, now simply attempting to select an object causes Illustrator to stop responding. Specs: Illustrator 26.0.2 OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz, 2304 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 w/ Max-Q Design

While working today I noticed something I never quite noticed before. 1. Using the shape tool I entered precise dimension for a rectangle. 2. Upon hitting enter I noticed the dimensions of the shape and the dimensions shown in the transform panel don't mirror one another. 3. Upon changing the dimensions in the transform panel, the dimensions of the shape are no longer the same. Is this a bug? Has it always been this way and why? Why aren't the dimensions the same for both?
