Totally agree with OP - this is completely bonkers and terrible convoluted UX. When you go to a Menu about Workspaces and then click "Edit" you've naturally assume that YOU'RE EDITING THE LIST YOU'RE LOOKING AT! Editing menu items like this has been around in other (Adobe) programs for decades so, yes, that would be the DEFAULT assumption. Ive used Premiere Pro for 15 years and NEVER clicked on the Workspaces button before today. I only use shortcuts and menus. What makes it even worse is that the text in the Edit dialoge box doesn't say that youre actually making UI changes somewhere else entirely in the Program, further confirming the users belief that you're modifying the menu. Pls stop making excuses for trivially bad design decisions and poor communication. This is UX for dummies.

This is MAJOR bug - total dealbreaker for pro retouch work - THIS STILL NOT FIXED - MONTHS AFTER DISCOVERY ??? It was discovered in 25.11 and not included in 25.12! We'ved avoided anything beyond 25.09 and run production on 24 - but come on Adobe ! Again, useless "features" and degrading UX tweaks being rolled out all the time but not ensuring core functionality.

For me, this is caused by selecting use Show Audio Time Units. Then selecting multiple clips. Consistent behavior on 24.3.0 Build 59. Windows 10. No real solutions since working with Audio Time Units is a necessity.

Same here. 25.5 Is unusable because of this as of march 2024. 25.5.1 same. Totally consistent on all windows machines and easily reproducable - we're staying on 24 and strongly advice our clients to NOT UPGRADE under any circumstances.

the blur itself is surprisingly good but since everything hinges completely on the mask is unusable for high end commercial retouch as it stands. The masking is all over the place. for now, a little more than a gimmick.

Thank you so much for the tip - yes it actually seems to be working. Havent had time to extensive testing, but seems stable. This is very interesting and somewhat worrying that a prefs file can cause such mayhem. Clearly it takes the old 2021 file and converts it to a new (smaller) 2024 file and changes something - a change thats not happening with a normal upgrade. Based on this is should be trivial for the Adobe team to compare the files and isolate the issue.

In 25.0.0 the zoom tool becomes "sticky" - pressing left mouse button from 1-5 times (inconsistent). So click and drag continous EVEN after mouse release., This bug is specific to 25.0.0 and have not been observed in out previous testing of no other point releases.
This is a very serious problem making 25.0.0 completely unusable with wacom stylus for any serious work. As always reverting back to 23 and the obligatory warning to our customers and clients to avoid upgrading!

markers need so much work in PP - Track Select Forward Tool doesn't work - so if you have a complex timeline with multiple video and audio tracks that you need to keep in sync - there's is actually NO WAY to move clips around and move seq markers along - how hard can it be to implement a method to move several markers at once or make an option to lock and offset seqs makers with a particular clip? This is a massive dealbreaker for me ...

Adobe has dropped the ball on rendering - looking to Avid or Resolve. We need better control over rendering, background rendering AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD : Lets be able to SELECT TIMELINES in the project bin and cue them up for renders. Having to MANUALLY load and render in to out on single timelines is completely insane and a totally unaccebtable timedump - This was introduced in 7.1 but doesn't work in cc18 : https://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/adobe-premiere-pro-cc-october-2013-release/?segment=dva Pls bump and comment https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/33867982-background-rendering

Yes, as others have mentioned the real killer is that you cant que timeline renders which is completely insane considering what a timedump it is. At some point you could select seq's from the project bin and let them render overnight. Adobe need to take this serious! We need render control and the ability to cue renders. Resolve is looking more and more tempting every day - sigh

Uninstall Bridge 2023 via the CC app. we always keep at least 4 older point releases of every app installed on every workstation - NEVER uninstall old versions. This is crucial considering how Adobe historically does "updates", NEVER enable autoupdate. Under settings > Apps use "show older apps" ONLY update every app inidividually use the three dots menu at the right when yiu're in All app mode and then select "other versions" then CAREFULLY select the update / install and be sure to never check "remove older versions" And yes, if done correctly, it should work wiht newest version of PS, image processor etc.

This is nothing short of disatreouse. There's a million use cases for multiple windows. My entire workflow relies on it. Once again Adobe royally f'''d up by REMOVING CORE FUNCTIONALITY. This is mindboggling. This software development 101. DO-NOT-REMOVE-CORE-FUNCTIONALITY! They need to IMMEDIATELY change this. For now, reverting back to 2022 and blasting this all over the place. Lets put the pressure on and start a petition. Of all the stupid changes that breaks core functionality without any benefits this takes the cake - just because someone couldnt figure out how to combine multiple windows with tabs. This IS NOT rocket science. This is just a poorly developed, ill thought out rushjob. No more dumb excuses - this is complete amateur hour...

We've been testing this rigorously - and yes, ever since the shift to native GPU support - UI performance is horribly slow. This is on fast hardware. We've tested on Windows 10 i9900KS with both RTX 2070 and amd cards and its always the same. Manipulation curve points (especially curve points but other UI parts is affected as well) is slow to the point of becoming unusable. Disabling GPU support and everything is blazingly fast. No combination of GPU setting in any way affect the issue. Enable GPU: Slow UI - diabling GPU: everything runs fast. No discernable diffs between releases 22.x -> 23.x Last usable version is 21.2.12. Which is what we recommend everybody and our clients to stay on until this is fixed. Native GPU support in PS DOES-NOT-WORK ! Either you fix the issue or u roll back or make (yet another) legacy option.

Reverting back to 23.1.1 Have had three crashes i five minutes, one image. Completely impossible to work with adjustment layers. When applying Curves adj layer it messes up the rendering of the image until curves have been adjusted. Crash when applying and manipulating hue/sat layer Crash immediately when applying solid color layer. Completely unstable and unusable. No problems in 23.1.1 winver 21h1 intel RTX2070 studio driver 511.65

Yes - my god ive been looking for this ! This is just stupid UI design - for most users these days - were everything needs to be titled for SoMe - this is terrible confusing and convoluted. The default should be burn in. I garantee thats what 90 % of users who are subtitling in PP wants ! Something this important shouldnt be hidden away like this, and the default should be ON! Pls fix this - this has been causing so much grief for editors in so many years its quite frankly ridiculous...

good point - Adobe makes us work had to keep everything up and running. cant stress enough how valuable is it to keep older point upgrades around and document EVERYTHING in terms of plugins, licences, install locations etc. Also do regularly back ups og all settings files.

Absolutely not - we can do 99% of our work with anything back to 19.0 or way further back - thinks that - I cant really imagine any scenario where 22.3.1 would be essential - guess that goes for most pro users but YMMV ...

yes. 22.x introduced huge issues with GPU support that hasnt been fixed yet. Disabling intel UHD is only a partial solution, Everything worked more or less fine with 18, 19, 20 and 21 - also, a RTX 2070 is hardly a old marginal card by any stretch. This is clearly a new bug. Installing and reinstalling 22.3.0 vs 22.3.1 several time on same system yield consistent results. Out testing suggest s problem with gpu sniffer but we're not sure.

This is clearly a bug in 22.3.1 - only solution is to revert to 22.3 ! This has been tested to death by me and others. This has nothing to do with windows updates or NVIDA drivers. Psl forward to dev team and fix asap. - TIA

PS 22.3.1 disables GPU - "unknown GPU" error win10 pro rtx2070 - installing and uninstalling 22.3.0 / 22.3.1 multiple times on same WS consistent behavior. Seems like GPU sniffer not working in 22.3.1 - GPU found in 22.3.0

No - clearly something has changed in the way the app is drawing the UI and especially the menus. Flickering and lagging menus is consistent across the board. Only solution seems to downgrade. We keep at least the four previous pointreleases of PS installed at any given time on all systems for the same reason. Changing GPU settings and disabling GPU acceleration entirely doesnt affect this issue. Neither does disallowing internet access. This is clearly related to the way the UI is being drawn and only Adobe knows what hase been changede in that regard.

There's only one accetable course of action : Reinstate the functionality of wintab with "UseSystemStylus 0" immediately! (meaning in 21.2.3) This was the same issue we had in 21.0.1 - and someone fixed it until someone broke it again in 21.2.2 ! The way that core functionality is being changed without any reason, benefit to the user or explanation between service releases is completely unaccetable and deeply unprofessional. Its like taking your car for service check and when you get it back they casually removed the steering wheel and replaced it with two buttons for going left and right ... "Its a new thing, we think its so much better than a steering wheel, also, dont press too hard or the engine might stop running or you might crash...."

Why not remove curves while your at it - a recent survey from marketing dep suggest only 12,7 % of customers regularly uses it ... so f... it ... THIS IS HOW YOU DO NOT DO SOFTWARE. NEVER EVER mess with core functionality WITHOUT providing users with an easy fallback to legacy. Every. Single. Time - the same lack of understanding of whats important for pro users. Insisting on windows ink instead of rolling your own with wacom is the problem here. I dont care if wintab is eol'ed as long as there's no alternatives thats equally good. As the other posters stated : Stop breaking things that work, stop trying to force us to work in a way WE DONT WANT (for good reasons). This is not to bash the individual hard working developers at Adobe. This is, as we have seen many times before a management problem.
