My PC is crashing when using the Object Selection Tool in Photoshop Version 23.x.x - I thought it was just my PC. Using an i7, 64Gb or RAM, RTX2070 video card - I also have a 650W power supply (minimum recommended for the Graphics Card). Looking on the internet I see this is a common issue across Multiple OS's and Devices, so hoping a resolution can be found via ADOBE before I look at spending $$$$ on Hardware fixes I have tried reinstalling Photoshop - issue happens EVERY time I click on the Object Selection Tool, and only happening since going to version 23 of Photoshop. I have reinstalled version 22.5.6 and that works fine. Tried setting up a Crashdump for Photoshop but the PC instantly restarts and NO logs created. My SSD recently died, and so I have had to reinstall Windows on a NEW SSD along with all the software, including Premiere Pro. When I install the latest version of Premiere and try to load an OLD project (last modified 2-3 weeks ago), NOTHING appears. When I create a NEW Project and try to Import the old Project, I can manage to get the media used in the project, however, I do not get the project itself, I have looked everywhere. I have tried numerous projects and yet NONE will load? The odd project comes up with a message advising that it was "created in an older version of software, do you want to update?", which I say yes to, yet again, NO project file appears in the timeline AND no project file exists. I have tried ticking EVERY combination of the below options, yet nothing works. Never had this issue before, everything was working fine BEFORE the SSD crashed. I have created a number of projects, where the project was completed and video was exported with no issues. A few weeks later, I have gone in to update the Project and notice that random Videos OR Images within the timeline appear to be horizontally stretched in the Preview Screen OR Reference Monitor window? I try to scale my images/videos so that they fit the screen and there are no vertical or horizontal black lines (I hate people who video in portrait mode when they want a video to be shown on a TV). Uniform Scale is selected - if I turn this off, the image looks correct, however, it is not the correct scale OR in the position I am after. As the preview appears stretched, it is very hard to position the image/video OR add effects if required. See attached video. I thought the original files may have been corrupted, so I checked and recreated/resaved them, yet the issue continues with other images or videos, and even the same image. There is no consistency in when it happens. I am using the latest version 15.20 (Build 35) - and have also noticed this on other versions of Premiere Pro and various Projects. I am also using the Mercury playback engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA) PC Specs CPU - i7 9700k, 32Gb of RAM, GeForce RTX 2070 8Gb RAM, 2x Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB (1 used as my Primary C: Drive, the other as my Scratch Disk), plus another 7 TB of HDD space My current NVIDIA driver being used is NVIDIA Studio Driver 471.11 Any help would be appreciated. ... I have recently purchased a brand new PC with the intent to run Premiere Pro, After Effects etc... better than my OLD PC.   I, therefore, purchased a PC with the following - an i7-9700k CPU (9th gen), a GeForce RTX 2070 Graphics card with 8Gb of Memory, 32Gb of DDR4 RAM, 2x Samsung 1TB SSD, 970 EVO Plus, M.2 NVMe - 1 for the C: Drive and 1 for the ADOBE Scratch Disk - I also have another 6Gb of HDD storage.   I have the latest Adobe Creative Cloud subscription along with other subscriptions such as Red Giant and update my software on a regular basis.   Why is it that I cannot use any HARDWARE ACCELERATION, all the settings are greyed out, no matter what I do, yet all my Hardware specifications are better than the minimum specs required?   Prior to the most recent updates, I had the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA) option set for rendering, everything was running smoothly, Exports were running smoothly and quickly.   Since the Upgrade to 14.04 and now 14.1 - I have issues with playback, my screen goes black, (recommended fix is to change to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only), simple effects do not work eg. Changing the scale of a picture using keyframes eg from 100% to 110% over 5 seconds won't show in preview, 3rd party products are throwing errors or just don't work, playback is very choppy, File|Export|Media won't work.   I have tried various suggested fixes, all of which fix one issue, but cause other issues. There is NOTHING that fixes all issues? I have tried previous versions of software, and they also have issues. My PC and Premiere Pro were running fine 3-4 weeks ago with NO issues?   Why am I paying $600 a year for software that doesn't work? (To be honest, I was reasonably happy until 1 month ago)   Video file attached - I have just dragged a JPG image and set 2 keyframes - 1st keyframe at 100% Scale, 2nd keyframe at 115% frame - effect should show a gradual increase in size. 1st preview using Mercury Software, 2nd preview uses Mercury Hardware CUDA. While the 2nd method works great, after 5 minutes of editing, I then get a black screen during preview playback. The resolution for this is to go back to the Mercury Software for Rendering. ...
