Why? Because that's what Adobe did ... as I don't work for Adobe, I cannot speak for them.

Ok, I'm not getting this. I use CR2 and CR3 files and run them through Denoise. The new file is xxx-Enhanced-NR.dng. The suggestion hereis to use "Preserved Filename" but that is set to the "Enhanced" name. The original xxx.CR3 name is gone. I don't see any option to hardcode or use a regex to remove parts of the name, only to insert. Can someone PLEASE post a solution that works with these dmg files? Or better yet, can someone from Adobe give us naming options? I can choose to show a flourish in the Lightroom window but I can't control file names. Crazy.

It does what is said - converts to DNG. The problem is your expectations: -that all images in the stack are selected when you select collapsed stack -that convert to DNG should not convert what is already DNG Both are false. And behavior of stacks is not specific to "Convert to DNG", it is consistent across all LrC functions. Collapsed stack is treated as single top image, because stacks are designed to hide some images under the final one (like exposure brackets or panorama parts).

I've tried it and it happens to me too. But it doesn't bother me.
As @FSt0p wrote, I also don't think it's a bug.

The issue is rather the language: 'Update All Filmstrip Photos'.
It depends on how one understands 'All'.
It can be argued that' All', is ambiguous. Open to interpretation!
You have to remember that if you want to change anything in a stack - even changing from the proprietary camera raw to DNG using Lightroom, you have to unstack the photos in order for all of them to be changed.

Maybe I don't get something, but as I understand it you have two folders with same photos in them, imported some of them from one folder and can't import same photos from the other. Is this correct? Correct. And the question is why? Because I saved the files at the same time on my Mac and on an external hd for a fast backup. Then I worked on some photos from my Mac (just to be more fast and because the external hd was disconnected at the time I was caring about this work) and at the end I wanted to update the modified files on the external hd (backup). Well, because you have "Don't import suspected duplicates" checked in the import dialog. Hope this helps. If I'll be in the same situation I'll check this option, I think this is the reason. By @FSt0p Thank you!

Is there any hope this will be fixed one day? Come on, Adobe content management app that fails to properly display thumbnails for Adobe developed file format (PSD) looks as silly as possible...

Greetings all,
Thank you for your fantastic feedback on this Primary thread for the Early Access Lens Blur feature. Effective with the May 21st release of all the Photography products, this feature is no longer early access. We’ve improved the UI and updated the Lens Blur accuracy in this update. Please install the latest update for your Camera Raw/Lightroom client and enjoy the feature now as general access. Going forward, please report bugs, feature requests, and discussions via normal forum posts. This thread is now closed.

If you see "Sync" instead of "Previous" simply means you have more than one photo selected.

Removes what flag? After external app you get new file that was never flagged - and I would say it should stay this way, because user flagged original, not the new image. Also flags was not even part of metadata until recently - it's Lightroom only thing, so your expectations that it should be inherited from original is false.

Thank you for replying and for your interest in the isseu. I'll upload some photos that can reproduce the issue and get back to you. In the meantime please have a look at the huge difference between 13.2 and 13.1. I'm currently testing with 13.0.2.

Thanks ! I didn't know that. I would still prefer a direct access to the button since there is plenty of room to add it, but it's already better that way.

It's also important to note that whilst a Comminity Expert can mark their own answers correct, doing so is frowned upon. Therefore, I doubt many, if any, do so.

Plugins are isolated from each other, so one plugin can not change metadata for other. It is doable, it just depends on how much you really need this. The solution is to "ask" plugin to change it's metadata by itself. Here is one of the solutions that comes to mind. The plugin that needs metadata changed should start task at Lightroom startup and listen on socket for some commands and process them as they come. Another plugin connects to that socket and sends comands to change metadata (or whatever) for the first plugin. You'll have to come up with some simple protocol for this communication. It is doable, but not the easiest thing to do honestly.

Just run "Build standard previews" as you did already for all photos. Lightroom will skip those that already have previews built, so it will not take more time that is needed.

Small update. I've replaced Quadro M2000 4GB with RTX A2000 6GB. Significant improvement. Files that were denoised previously in 10+ minutes, now are ready after 20-25 seconds :). Problem solved 🙂

Following your logic it shouldn't be there because neither of them are supported on Windows 10/11 which is required by latest DNG Converter. By @FSt0p What Adobe officially supports and what actually runs on a given version of Windows are two different things. PS CS6 is fine on Windows 11 (so, to my knowledge, is PS CS3, if you happen to have the activation-free installers), as is Lightroom at least as far back as LR5 . Anyone like me still running some version of CS or pre-CC LR on a current Windows system can use the most recent DNG converter to import files from the latest cameras, which they couldn't do using their old versions of ACR or LR alone. The other use case would be to generate DNGs of various versions for use outside Adobeland. At one point Adobe were pushing DNG hard as a universal standard, and the DNG converter was at the heart of this strategy. Today's Adobe is probably less concerned about that, since DNG never really took off in the way they intended. They are certainly less concerned about providing backwards compatibility with pre-CC versions of their own software, which it often seems they'd prefer to pretend never existed, so perhaps it's surprising that this relic of interoperability is still maintained. Don't hold your breath waiting for the DNG converter to be compiled for W7 - Adobe have nothing to gain by providing this, since it won't sell any CC subscriptions. Right now, keeping the converter up to date probably doesn't add much to the cost of updating ACR (I would guess there is a common codebase), but forking some version for retro OS users would be an extra hassle.

I have the same problem with my old computer. With our own money, which we pay for our subscription, you are making a fool of us. Couldn't you have an option for your legitimate users to choose older versions of photoshop for example 2020, 2019... Forcing us to install broken versions?

You can Shift+DoubleClick on Blacks and Whites in the Basic panel. This will stretch histogram (tonal values) to the full range and you will not need to do this in Curves. To do this in batch is quite tricky. You'll need to apply Auto tone, and then reset everything that is not needed (Exposure, Contrast, Shadows, Highlights, Saturation and Vibrance). Or you can use this plugin: http://regex.info/blog/2018-04-20/2860

This happens because LrC can't find the image – it is missing. See the text at the bottom of the Histogram panel, and the exclamation marks on the thumbnails in the filmstrip.

No. Iridient X-Transformer cteates linear DNG which does not currently supported by AI Denoise (only Bayer and X-Trans RAW files are supported). You'll need to wait until Adobe add support for this type of image data. https://www.iridientdigital.com/products/xtransformer.html Interpolation or demosaic processing. This transforms the camera sensor's X-Trans or Bayer color filter information to produce a full color RGB image. This processing is always applied by Iridient X-Transformer and cannot be disabled or undone. Currently I would recommend you to look at Topaz Photo AI or Denoise AI.
