I understand your point of view but on the other and practical hand to make things work sometimes means to accept changes. You cannot keep history to create future. But OK, If I understand the point of what you said, there is still no way to migrate Adobe apps the normal way. It is a pain and there is no tendecy to change that. Good to know. Thanks.

Thanks for answer. I did not find one common thread and did not want to ask ten times the same question in ten separate ones, so I chose one. And yes, I hoped all apps use the same system (which they definitely should) or even better — Adobe have a simple solution for this thing throughout their portfolio (which they definitely should have).

Thanks a lot. But there is one big downside — this is possible only in Photoshop. I did not find it in other apps I use (Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, MediaEncoder, PremierePro…), seems they do not have such an option. Afaik various presets are not stored in a single folder but here and there so finding what to backup/restore manually for all apps is something almost impossible. I am looking for a solution that works for all Adobe apps and one is able to make it some easy way. Is there one?

That is strange, because I can say the opposite — I lose everything with every new autoupdate. I have set to update automatically and keep only latest version on my computer.

Hello, I actively use several Adobe apps (Windows 11) like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PremierePro… I also use custom settings, keyboard shortcuts, workspaces, presets, brushes, colors etc. in every one of them. My problem comes with (auto)update when I lose all this stuff, which is… I believe there must be an easy way how to keep or transfer all the important custom stuff from old versions to new ones but I have not find a way how to do it so far. Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks!

Thanks a lot. Does that mean, that if I backup folder <User>/Documents/Adobe/ and after autoupdate copy the backup back here, I open new versions of my Adobe apps I use (AME, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Audition) with all the custom settings and preferences? Do I get it right?

What is "sync settings"? I do not know about such an option in Adobe apps. Maybe this is what I am missing or doing wrong. My settings are simply my various settings. I set things here and there in application menus (shortcuts, presets, styles, workspaces…) and the app saves it "somewhere" (do not know where, it does not show). And when the app updates, settings are gone. If I am doing something wrong, i would be very happy to know what to do to keep all setting alive forever. Thanks.

Windows 11, Me updated itself to actual latest version (it says it is 25.1 build 65) from previous version. I do not know which one previous version was, I never update Adobe apps manually, they update automatically from time to time and i always lose custom content like my shortcuts, workspaces etc. And now I lost my custom presets which is even worse for my actual projects i work on. Is there a way how not to lose any custom content after automatic update of Adobe apps? Maybe I am missing something important because I did not find a way how to keep custom stuff so after each autoupdate I am lost and have to set everything manually again, which is… I use lots of custom settings, presets, workspaces, shotcuts, brushes, color pallettes etc. etc. and it is always a nightmare when everything is off and needs to be build again (and again).

Hello, is it possible to let Illustrator shrink artboard automatically according the dimensions of the actual drawing on it to leave no empty borders around the picture? I need it very often and doing that manually is time consuming when making lots of pictures. Thanks!

Hello, I am casual user of Illustrator. I use a multipage document and I created a Library of objects i repeatedly insert into the document to make it easy. BUT... Sometimes it happens that I open the document and the library in the Library palette loads incomplete. I see only several objects in it and — have not found a way how to refresh it so it displays them all as always. I have no filter active and if I click the top right icon „Invite to library“, it opens in new window whole with all objects in ti. But when I turn back to Illustrator, I still see only some of the objects and it is unusable for my work. I only have to turn Illustrtor off and on and hope all will be OK next time. Can someone help? Thanks.

One more question here: I created a small text frame with sample text "xxx" and put it to Library. BUT if I Alt-drag it to document, it appears as a looooong text frame (which I do not want). Is it possible to put text item to Library that keeps the size of the original text frame?

Hello, Illustrator uses pre-defined shortcut Shift+Up Arrow (and +Down Arrow) to switch view to another artboard. I would like to change this shortcut but I did not find it in the list. Is there a way to do so? Thanks!

I may be wrong but the link does not describe how to add another language. It allows me to "set default language for further installations". I want to keep Czech by default, I only want to add option to switch e.g. Photoshop to English for a while and then back to Czech.

Hello, my native language is Czech which is also the language my Adobe applications like Photoshop, InDesign etc. use after installation for their interface (I use Windows 11 and latest Cloud versions of Adobe apps). Sometimes I need to switch to English to share screenshots worldwide but I do not know how. If I open Preferences in Photoshop, there is an option "Interface Language", but the dropdown combo offers only "Czech" option. How to add English here, to be able to switch between Czech/English easily, please? Thanks!

Hello, in Waveform Editor in "Default" Workspace of Audition, there is an "Editor" panel with playback controls along the bottom side of the panel (Stop, Play, Pause, Record, Loop…). I use Editor panel in my own Workspace, but the controls are missing here. I am trying to find how to display them, but no succeess. Can you help, please? Thanks!

Thanks Ecki, I tried the workaround you suggest and it works. My presets from AME version CC22 work in version CC23. It would be great if new versions of Adobe software ask user during firs run if he wants to migrate his settings, presets etc. and make this process automatic. Copying files manually makes me feel I am back in early 90's. Thanks!

Hello Steve, thank you for the answer. If I understand it well, there is no possibility to „hide“ parts of the track, but there is a possibility to „pick“ a part of the source, and then pick another part of the same source etc. and put them on a timeline side by side.

Hello, let´s say I have an MP3 file with a long interview. And I need to „remove“ some of the questions from it. If I delete them from the file, there is no way to put some of them back later easily. My question is — can Audition „hide“ unwanted parts (like speadsheet editors hide columns) so they can be revealed later? If so, how to do that? Thanks.
