There's only this so tedious but effective work-around to retrieve those parameters you set on the Particular version you spent time on. In order to get out of the loop of crashes caused by a Particular update you can do this: After the crash, restart AE / Menu Effects/Manage Effetcs / On the list, search for Particular/ deactivate. Restart AE/ Open your  project/ click Ok on the warning that says you dont have Particular, it's ok / Go to the layer where you put Particular effect on/ There you have those parameters you put in your older project. Make screenshots displaying all the settings you want, or copy to a paper. / When restarting turn on Particular via Menu/Manage Effects (you always have to restart AE to make this change take place/ Open your project /Select the layer with the effect/Delete the old Particular and apply a new one/put those parameters you have to the new one. ... The same problem but I've checked and the file is created, no matter what the render progression displays 99%. Just closed this info pop up window and continue working. Checked the rendered movie and it plays correctly.  Some renders does have this issue, no clue why, but destination disk is not the problem, as far as I can tell.  ... View more

Sometimes you're not in Active Camera View. That little dropdown menu from the Composition Panel may be changed without notice to Front View. It seems like anything have changed, you may think still in Active Camera View, but you're not. Then you move the camera and nothing is moving like it should do. It works! I was connecting headphones to the monitor out minijack. But, disabled sound device (in this case the Benq Monitor) AND reboot Windows. The in AE go to prefs/ Audio Hardware and Audio Mapping. Now with headphones connected directly to the CPU the previews are OK with usual key 0 numpad. Thanks!! ... View more
