Thank you Conrad. It appears that the problem was my Wacom monitor that I use as my second display and use for retouching. It must be coming to the end of its life, and it has been intermittently stopped working. When I reported the problem I had turned the monitor off, thinking that would eliminate that as a source of the problem. But based on your comment, I also pulled the cable connecting it to my Mac Studio, and now the Color Range dialog is showing. Thank you!

Sorry if that wasn't clear. I failed to enter the > between Select and Color Range in my post but yes, I'm choosing Select from the Toolbar, and then selecting Color Range from the dropdown menu.

Usually when I use Select Color Range, a dialog box opens with a preview of the image, and eyedroppers to select, and add to selection. That is not happening. When I use the tool from the toolbar, the image displayed is mostly black, and there are not options to use the eydropper. I've tried several images, and the same thing happens with all of them. This was worklng normally yesterday, buI did upgrade Photoshop to the lastest version yesterday afternoon. I'm working in v26.3.0 on a Mac Studio M2 Max, OS 14.2.1

Since this only seems to have surfaced today, it seems to me, admittedly no techie, that something changed in the way the Creative Cloud is working. I wonder who we have to reach out to to get this resolved.

I'm having the exact same problem, and I do not have a VPN. I have two machines, and the warning dialogue showed five of one of my machines, one of the other. I cleared all the duplicates this morning on that machines. Now I'm getting the same issue on my other machine with duplicates of both. I have to assume this is an Adobe issue if we are all getting this, and it just started today. I wonder what it will take for them to figure out that there is an issue.

Thank you for the suggestions. I imported the Quicktime file into a different sequence and the export worked perfectly. Thanks again.

I did import the exported file, and it appears that the values are being crushed. I've looked at all my settings and cannot see where I might have affected the default.

I'm working with v24.5.0 and having an issue with my output being 1-2 stops brighter than the original footage. I've reset the program but still getting the same result. The only way I can get a good (but not really accurate) output is to reduce the exposure or drop the white point in curves.

I have an image that is 225MB which I would like to enhance. I've tried both .psd and .tif formats, but get a message saying that "Enhance cannot be applied to the selected photo." I'm wondering if it is because of the size of the original file or something else.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate the thoughtful response. I decided to get a Mac Studio Max with 64GB of unified memory and a 2TB drive. Since I don't do motion graphics full time, I really don't think I need the power of the Ultra. Hopefully this middle ground is the right course. Delivery in mid-January, so I have a bit to wait before diving in. But again, I really appreciate the help.

I currently have a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2019 with a 2.3 GHz 8-core Intel Core i9 and 32GB of RAM. I've been experiencing a lot of lag in rendering in After Effects, and am considering getting a new machine. I'm open to Mac Mini's or iMacs, as I don't need a laptop on the road anymore. The other programs I work in are Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Interested to hear suggestions.

I have some color drawings that have been provided to me by a client that were done on white paper. However, they had to photograph the drawings using ambient light in conference room so the lighting is uneven. I decided to use color range, picking the white background and using fuzziness to capture all the paper that might be slightly grey. When I invert the selection and then try to work with just the colors, adding a new pure white background below that layer, the colors are altered, and the contrast is off as well. I've having to use hue/saturation adjustments to fix each of the colors, which is rather time consuming Any suggestions of how to make this work better? I'm working in PS 2022 on a MacBook Pro.

I understand that that would be the case if I was exporting to 5760 X 3240, but I am exporting to 1920 x 1080, which is the native size of the timelapse. I thought that if it was imported using "Set to Frame Size" that the file is not altered so if it were exported to 1080p it would be OK. That's what's confusing for me.

I'm working on a project in Premiere Pro v22.6.4 on a MacBook Pro, ios Catalina. The project is set up as 5760 x 3240, but I have a timelapse in it at 1920 x 1080. When I imported it, I chose "set to Frame Size." When I export the project at 1080p, the timelapse is blurry. I tried adding Sharpening from the Effects panel, but even though it looks sharp at 100% on screen, the timelapse is actually more out of focus than a straight export when I export that clip. I'm hoping someone has a suggestion as to what may be happening and how to resolve it.

Just in case someone else looks for the answer, I found something on YouTube. Apparently the file has to be exported as an animated HEVC file, a new option in Procreate, then turn off the background.

Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem. The only solution I could come up with was to open the image in Photoshop, figure out which layer related to each element I was missing from the initial import, then go into Premiere and select "individual layer" from the dropdown and select each specific layer I needed and import one at a time. Incredibly frustrating and time-consuming.

I have a Photoshop psd file that is 8-bit, rgb. When I try to import using the Media Browser, I choose "individual layers" from the dropdown and all the layers have check marks next to them (there are about 12 layers). But when the import is complete, there are only three layers. Any suggestions, short of saving each layer of the original and importing them one at a time would be appreciated.

Hi Sami, I tried all the sliders in both Matte Generation and Matte Cleanup, and the only one that made a change (beyond what I already did with Matte Cleanup (Contrast at 100%, Mid Point 100%), was Transparency in Matte Generation. However, that seemed to work like opacity for the whole layer so the colors got lighter along with the grey lines.

I've attached a few screenshots of what happens. I identify the color (magenta) in Ultra-Key, but there is still grey whereever the color was, even though there is a pure white layer below. I solved it by adding a curves adjustment layer in Lumetri, but it hurt the pastels in and around the clouds and mountains. Is there something I am missing here?

Hi Warren, Thanks for the reply. So just selecting a color in the "Fill" box, which I changed to white, won't do it? I could take a screen shot of just the white paper in the few seconds it is on screen and put that under the footage for the whole length of the video. What that do it?

I have a short timelapse video of a storyboard being drawn out. The artist used a green marker first to lay things out and then drew over those lines in other colors to create the finished piece. I've tried using color key and ultra key, which resulted in a black line instead of green, and ultra key and resulted in a red line. I'm guessing that this is pilot error, but I can't figure out where I am going wrong. I've attached screen shots to help.

My brush tool stopped working in Photoshop 2020. I got this response from Wacom and it worked for me: Sometimes Photoshop can exhibit odd/erratic/weird behavior. The first step is to make sure that you are running the latest version of Photoshop CC. If you are, we will then suggest resetting the program’s preferences. - Open Adobe Photoshop CC Go to the Menu Bar, and click on Adobe Photoshop CC Select Preferences, then General Click on the box labeled “Reset Preferences On Quit” then OK on the confirmation dialog. Close Photoshop, then relaunch the application and test.
