full time concept artist running a high-end windows 10 PC. Constant flickering of the cursor between photoshop brush cursors and Windows arrow cursor while using brush tool in photoshop (Adobe Photoshop Version: 23.2.2 20220304.r.325 49bf0ec x64). This issue occurs with the brush shape cursor, or the precision cursor style shown with Caps-Lock turned on - both flash constantly to my Windows arrow while painting. With task manager open, I see photoshop spike to "Very High" in power consumption from tasks such as simply saving a PSD. I just recovered from a crash minutes ago which I see very often - dragging a layer, or several layers down to the trash to be deleted - and everything freezes with photoshop not responding. I have a very high end PC. It's always surprising to me how often photoshop freezes/crashes. It wasn't until tonight that I noticed the task manager power consumtion reading "Very High" during a simple Ctrl+S save of my file. (which lead me to this thread.) Curious how common this behavior is for other users.

Add this to the list of 10,000 things that are annoying and nonsensical in photoshop. Very on-brand for them. Post up if you ever found a solution to this one.

This is an old topic and I am bringing it up because it's absurd that it has not been addressed to my knowledge. I maintain a personal license for some apps. Primarily photoshop. I also have licenses through work for a variety of apps. Currently (still) no methods of convenience to aid in using both. This is EXTREMELY common and we should have a solution by now given how you have forced us into your online account subscription model bandwagon.

Basic navigation causes my zoom tool to completely break. There's no other way to put it. In this state, my canvas will RAPIDLY zoom in and out to both extremes, giving it a flickering effect with absolute loss of control over zoom. If I single click with zoom tool it will either do nothing, or it will zoom all the way to max. If I click and hold + drag and try to use scrubby zoom, it goes insane and flickers, jumping to and from max zoom. This isse began when I installed the latest version of photoshop on a new machine. I am running an Alder Lake gen 12 i9 CPU on a Z690 board, 32 gigs of DDR 3600, RTX 2060 GPU... far more than photoshop needs. Drivers are up to date. My work flow tonight has caused the issue 3 times in a row. I am using basic navigation, scrubby zoom, basic brushes, gradient tool, lots of lasso tool selection. Layer masks. Free-transform. nothing at all that should be breaking the program like this. All I can do is quickly save and restart.

I work as a concept artist in the game industry. After a quick search, I see that this topic is one that gets some mixed responses, yet every artist I have talked to in person generally agrees: Step backward should not include changing layers. I understand if this works well for some folks, but the option to exclude this from history would be fantastic.
