@Kevin Stohlmeyer thanks for th ereply. I read that last year but unfortunatly never reached out to you. I discussed that with our IT dept and had no luck. To make a long story short: I did the setup for every user manually. Took me a decade. It seems that my way of setting up synced workspaces on each Mac is not the regular way to do it. But I see that most graphic designers just use what they get, not thinking about saving time by streamlining their process. That is when I came to the plan. Every InDesign is setup and I can answer questions and have the good feeling, that with all the presets they cannot do too much wrong. Especially color management is something not much designers care about.

We have about 50 Creative Cloud users, which need to have the exact same user settings for InDesing. I could'n find anything that allows us to define every setting of InDesign, pallets, scripts etc. I found out, that there are packages I can define. But the guide is very unspecific on the settings I can predefine. https://helpx.adobe.com/de/enterprise/using/package-templates.html Until now I must setup every user manually. But early next year we getn new hardware for everyone and I really don't want to do the setup 50 times. It takes around 2-3 hours each. We use JAMF for the Mac deployment. The users only have the CC Desktop App and install the programs they need themselfs. That is handy for the genreal deployment, but makes it unable to setup any user and program beased settings. Are there any solutions?

Ich habe es so probiert. Die Ebenen werden erstellt, aber nicht in der gewünschten Farbe. my createNewLayerWithName("Produkte", "violet")
my createNewLayerWithName("Abbinder", "red")
my createNewLayerWithName("STD Kennung", "light_blue")
my createNewLayerWithName("Texte", "magenta")
my createNewLayerWithName("STD Aktion", "green")
my createNewLayerWithName("Preise alle Häuser", "black")
my createNewLayerWithName("Info Layout", "blue")
my createNewLayerWithName("Fotostudio", "blue")
my createNewLayerWithName("Bildbearbeitung", "blue")
on createNewLayerWithName(LayerName, LayColor)
tell application "Adobe InDesign 2021"
tell document 1
try
set myLayer to make layer with properties {name:LayerName, layer color:LayColor}
end try
end tell
end tell
end createNewLayerWithName
tell application "Adobe InDesign 2021"
tell document 1
delete layer "Ebene 1"
end tell
end tell

Hast du auch eine Lösung für das oben abgebildete Applescript? Das wäre der Hammer.

Is there a way to tell InDesign the color of the layer?

hmm. But InDesign knows when pages are set up as spreads. The API doesn't offer a possibility to check that? Well I'm not a programmer just have some basic skills. I'm more the layouter/frontend type. For us it would be enough saving the first 2 pages as a spread preview image within the indd-file. Example: cataloque contains of 16 pages we create 9 seperate indd-files (1x title, 1x back, 7x spreads 2-3, 4-5,...) we do that because 6 people work simultaneously on the same catalogue we don't really use the Mac Finder, our workflow is based on Bridge (labels, previews, stars)

Hi Pickory, thanks. But this is not what we are looking for. Good to know what is possible.

Hi Trevor, sounds interesting. The compromise would be a huge one. Additional files in our folders are not really what we want. But if you say, that it is possible with a plugin to make InDesign save facing pages into the indd is exactly what we need. But could you do it? Right now we use CC2015 for 6 month and had CS4 before. There we had the spread previews. The possibilty to use varying page sizes is nice, but we don't ever used it. Whatever. I'll mail you.

Hi, I need to know if it is possible to get InDesign to save facing pages previews when saving, instead of single pages. I need to see the whole spread in Bridge. Until CS4 InDesign always saved the preview images as spreads. Since CS5 the behavior changed for no reason. I do a lot of catalogues and really need to see both pages. Each spread is a separate file so my colleagues and I can work simultaneously on the same catalogue. Does anyone know if that is possible in any way? Scripts, extensions whatever. And if its possible, can someone give me the contact to a programmer? Thanks a lot Steffen
