I didn't restore anything yet. I guess I need the graphics processor for certain things to run smoothly, so I didn't turn that off. If I open an image, create a new empty layer on it. Do some healing on the empty layer, then create a Curves Adjustment Layer, the moment I grab a point on the curves, Photoshop crashes. I'm using 16" M1 Max MacBook Pro, and Photoshop 26.1.0 but it happened to me before on older versions as well.  It happened to me at least 5-6 times. There was a time when I worked a lot on a photo and then the Curves layer crushed Photoshop and I was never been able to recover the work I did. Sometimes I can recreate the problem to test it, sometimes I'm not but I was able to recreate 3 times in a row. ... View more

The healing brush tool does not work on an empty layer. The healing brush tool is set on "Current and Below" and it works in normal mode, but the Legacy mode(which is the superior mode) doesn't work. Same issue for me as well, even in the newest version of Photoshop. It is extremely annoying, especially when you need to do a high number of images. It takes so much time to add that additional selection. They really should fix this bug! ... View more

YES, I thought about asking for this feature, but first I searched for it. In the DSLR era, there was no point to this feature, to zoom in on the used focus point, because everybody was focusing and recomposing the shot. But now with MILC cameras, where the focus is probably exactly on the subject with eye tracking or something, it would be nice if LR Classic knew the exact focus point that was used on the image and zoomed in on it. Or if it's not possible, since LR Classic can already detect subjects on the photo, maybe it would be nice to just use the intelligence of the subject detection and zoom in on the subject of the photo. Of course, detecting the subject takes time, but as with 1:1 previews, it would be a nice option to pre-render that stuff beforehand so when it comes to culling, the zoom would be on point. ... If I disable GPU usage, LR works really really bad. If I check on custom, and turn off some of the boxes, just keep "gpu for display", it is the same speed of full acceleration, nothing really changes. Now I keep it on Auto. I have a maxed out 2017 iMac. Everything is maxed out, except the ram but that is 24gb, should be plenty enough. Yes 6 year old chip, but a very powerful one and you can't expect everyone to upgrade their computer every year... :S Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor is on Custom already. I tried every setting there, it's not really making any substantial change 😞 I use Mac OS 11 because I have some apps that only run on 11 and I try to postpone the upgrade because I don't have alternatives yet for those 😞 ... LR 12.4 is sadly very very slow, I don't know what happened but performance is really really bad. Hope they fix it very soon because it's almost unusable. Jumping from one image to another in Develop takes like 3-4 seconds. It is unusable for editing large amount of photos. I know I could use smart previews, but I would prefer to develop in full resolution. It wasn't this crazy slow before. My computer should be fast enough I think.
