Did you deactivate it on teh other system? Uninstalling is [not] the same as deactavation.

Thanks for the reply. I need to deactivate the older system before attempting the intsall. I primarily use it for my astronomy images so it isnn't heavely used. The astro imaging programs like Pix Insight do most of the labor calibrating and such but Phoroshop allows me to do some fine tuning.

I ahave yet tried to get this process done as I'm in the middle of a large project setting up a remote observatory but hope to get on this in the next week or so. At this point it is a bit lower on my list. Thanks for the concise information and instructions.

Thanks you for the replies. I haven't gotten any newer software as theh only site I've done is the astral-imaging.com site. I had looked at several other softwares way back when but really just wanted to get the ability to update data and images going again. Thansk again, I hope to get on this project soon.

Seems my backup drive at home is toast and the only means of the current data on my website is via a backup from Host Gator which is the hosting service I have and I've downloaded thezipped backup file. The question now is how do I reconstruct the site using Dreamweaver CS5 which I have a license using the backup file. My website is astral-imaging.com I realize I need to unzip the file but beyond that I'm lost. Getting the files in the folder structure that DW CS5 needs eludes me. I haven't done any other sites than this so my experience is basic. For now I'm posting my astronomy images on AstroBin but would like to reconstruct my site and udate with the new images. I did find a back on a older drive that was done in 2019 but the overal structure has changed since. Is there a way for me to do so or a service that will reconstruct the site that will allow me to update as needed? As a reference point, I'm just months shy of 70 so not exactly as spry or sharpe as I use to be..... Any assistance/guidance would be appreciated.

Actually what I've heard is that the ability to register any older software has been disabled. Just looking for facts. I ahve both PS CS5 and Dreamweaver 6 that I'd like to install on my new Windows 11 system. Both are 64 bit as are my computers.

I've heard that the ability to register my PS CS5 license in no longer possile on my new Windows 11 system. IS this rtrue? Rather than waste a bunch of time and effort on something that won't work at least I could look for an alternative program that I can use. I don't use CS5 for montary gain and I refuse to get hooked into an expensive software subscription. If i need to learn a new program I'll do so but I will also carry a huge resent for Adobe after having paid for a program that can't be registered. That last part is what I've heard and hoping it isn't reality. I paid for a ligit license directly from Adobe and I expect it to work. Else I've learned a lesson. That applies to my Dreamweaver license. Thanks for any input. as well.

I tried that several times and now no longer have any version of the Adobe Application Manager. Tried installing several times and once with Run as Administrator to install and no joy.

I appreciate the links and was directed to another page that has the updates listed by product. I had found one of them but not the main index page. Thanks for the links and your time. As for updating should I need to go that route I'll likely find a product that wont cost me monthly fees and I can outright buy. Being retired doesn't leave me feeling like renting software when I can buy a program such as ON1 and not get hit with monthly payments. If I were making an income from using the software but for personal use and an astronomy hobby, not likely. Thanks Again

A search says that using the Adobe Application Update is the only way and that now appears to be uninstalled after an attempt to update and install what I think was a later version. So the creek is rising.......without a paddle of course.

and seems to have disabled the older version and not installed anything. I had to sign in just as here but that didn't seem to show the updater as before. In fact looking at installed programs shows nothing for the updater. Not sure where to turn now. Suggestions?

According to the updater there's: Photoshop 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5 Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 update Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update Same PS CS5 & Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 update for 64 Bit

Adobe Application Update manager is installed on my computer and I have legit licenses to PS CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5. When Adobe Application Updates run it shows I have updates to download and install, goes through the downloading updates 100% and then tells me; Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. This last attempt was just to get Camera Raw installed but I've tried 6-7 times over the past two weeks. I had issues with my Windows 10 OS and had to do a system reset. Although it kept my documents and such the programs needed to be installed again. I'm in a loop. I don't use this software for any other purpose that to do some astrophotography processing and maintain my website. I'm retired and do not make a living doing this. Hence I can not and will not pay a monthly fee to use software when what I have is fully capable. Is there a way to actually update the software that I legally own? Of course calling support doesn't seem possible these days. Thanks for any suggestions... -Steve

Look at my posts above about renaming the file and you should be good. I didn't have to reload any programs or change anything else. Quoted from my earlier post above:
"finally found a way to speak with Adobe directly. I was advised to go into my C drive, open ProgramData folder, open OOBE folder, and rename the file ffc to ffc.old. That's ffc dot old. Seems the dot is missing between the ffc and old when posted. (C:\ProgramData\Adobe\OOBE) At this point Windows Control Panel, Remove Programs no longer advised me that I had an application that required Creative Cloud and uninstalled the Creative Cloud program. It took a good deal to find a telephone number that I could actually talk to someone and resolve this which isn't what I expected from Adobe. That number is [Moderator deleted private information. Please do not post private information like e-mails and phone numbers]. I find the tactic that Adobe used as bad as a virus or malware and is not what I would have expected from them. At least there is a way without a lot of time loss to correct the problem."

Renaming a file shouldn't have any adverse affects but then I don't have any Mac systems. At a minimum I would call, as I did, and get someone at Adobe to take you through this process. But keep in mind that renaming a file shouldn't do any damage, it will generally through an error if it needs to execute something and can't. You can always rename the file back to its original name. According to this thread from 2015 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1875906 , you should not have any problems. Steve

Did you look at the posting I made above and check the ProgramData folder for the Adobe/OOBE folder? I don't/didn't have any CC products installed either and don't even have a CC account so that isn't required. The malware appears to be in the form of an Adobe updater that appears in the system tray. The Adobe notifications icon tells you have updates and does this malware install. Before rolling your eyes make a quick check, you may find your answer is already posted.

Same thing happened to me today but there is a much easier answer, at least for me. Copied from my post on another thread:
