I'm creating a photo book for a recent graduate and I'd like to include 4 newspaper clippings. I need to make sure the text is readable when printed in the book. When I scan the clippings, should I use 300 or 600 dpi, or does it matter? What format should I scan it to (PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPG)? When I open the image in PS to clean up the white area, unsharpen, etc, is there anything I can do to improve the photo that is also part of the article? I have access to upscaling software but how much should I upscale the image to ensure the text is clear (2x, 4x)? Is there a specific resolution I should have in mind to get the best results? (The book is 10x10 and I'd like the image to be about 5x5, but I can use a full page if that's the only way to be able to read the text) Thank you for any tips!!

That is kind of what I assumed. Bummer. I just dropped InDesign from my subscription but I guess I'll think about adding it back. Thanks.

I want to add a few sentences of wavy text to pages of a printed photo book. I thought I'd type the sentence in PS and save as a PNG and then upload the PNG to the page in the design program as I'm adding photos to the pages. The design software has text but I can't make it wavy or curved. I see several options for text (none, smooth, crisp, sharp, strong). Which of these should I select to avoid a blurry or smudgy look when the text is printed on the pages of the photo book? Should I check the interlacing box when I'm saving the text as a PNG? Thank you!

I have been asked to turn this jpeg into a layered psd file that would allow us to quickly and easily change out the 4 photos inside the puzzle pieces each week. I am pretty familiar with the basics of photoshop but I'm not sure how to create a psd file (or smart objects?) so that we can just copy/paste the 4 new photos into the file each week and have them look like this? Can someone provide the steps for this process? Thank you!!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! I'm going to give it a shot with b/w and maybe hand painting. Thanks again!

I have a stack of very old photos that all have the same yellowing issue. I've tried adjusting the red, yellow and green levels individually and it helped but I'm thinking there is probably a better way? I've attached an example. Can anyone give me the steps to apply to get this photo looking somewhat normal? Thanks for any help!
