PLEASEEEEEEE, PLEASEEEEEE, PLEASEEEEEEE. BRING BACK BEING ABLE TO USE 'ERASE TOOL' AFTER 'LENS BLUR' HAS BEEN APPLIED TO PHOTO. PLEASEEEEEEE. ITS LITERALLY ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO ERASE SMALL DETAILS BECAUSE ONCE ERASE TOOL IS CLICKED, IM ONLY ABLE TO ERASE ON UNBLURRED PHOTO SO IT DOESNT EVEN LOOK THE SAME.

One at a time. Sometimes neither reset cache nor resynchronization works. Only reboot Lr.To see the result. The option is not. The option can be forgotten and not even hope for change in 20 years. Experience working with products by Adobe.

Hi All. Currently LrC does not allow to select multiple Maks within a correction and neither it allows to select multiple Corrections. This means we can't work on multiple Masks or Corrections My idea is to : Allow selecting and working on multiple Masks and Corrections I personally am already able to do it. Look at the videos. I can select Multiple masks and perform the same action on all of them: Delete, Hide, Convert, Rename, etc... I can also select multiple Correction as well and affect all of them. I can also move multiple Masks. I wanted to share this video as I hope it will encourage users to vote for the request, that is very doable. FWIW I have not even 1 year of coding experience with Lua (the language used by LrC) and I managed to do it...took me a couple of weeks though (I am still very bad) For sure the LrC team can do the same and actually can do even better than me since the SKD has many limits with the UI C.

Corrupted images are very hard to detect and remove. I am using Duplicate Image Finder and luckily it can detect and list those automaticaly. Take a look at this article: https://www.mindgems.com/article/find-and-remove-corrupted-image-files/ Please note that you have to use the SIMILARITY mode in order for the images to be loaded and inspected for corruptions. Give it a try - they have a free demo and the tool is ridiculously cheap for what it has to offer.

@Per Berntsen Yes I experience rhe same as @David ART LRc still palys a sound when deketing Masks and Remove AND when an operation is non valid OR kbsc is doing nothing. I believe at some point it was asked to mute any sound via a Preference. @CMass I think you could pitch the option to the LrC team. Something like "Mute All Sounds" in the Preferences > General I think that option should also affect Plug-ins.

On a whim I had a crack at giving this to an AI, see what it made of it. It turns out that ChatGPT does a pretty good job of not only telling you what parameters the preset sets but also giving a description of what effect the preset might have. Reveal any preset in the Finder then drag it onto chatGPT. I got this for. one of my monochrome presets. The description at the end is ChatGPT's, not mine. Colour me impresssed: Torbay Inn Mono - Lightroom Preset Breakdown Basic Adjustments: • Clarity: -25 (Reduces midtone contrast, softening the image) Split Toning (Black & White Color Grading) • Shadows: • Hue: 52 • Saturation: 6 • Highlights: • Hue: 50 • Saturation: 8 • Balance: 0 (Neutral balance between shadows and highlights) Color Grading Adjustments • Midtones: • Hue: 56 • Saturation: 0 (No additional color tinting in midtones) • Luminance: 0 • Shadows & Highlights Luminance: 0 (No lightening or darkening in grading) • Blending: 100 (Strong blending between colors for smooth transitions) • Global Adjustments (Overall Tinting): • Hue: 0 • Saturation: 0 • Luminance: 0 Preset Summary This black & white preset is designed for a soft, cinematic look by: :white_heavy_check_mark: Reducing midtone contrast with lowered Clarity :white_heavy_check_mark: Adding subtle color toning to shadows and highlights :white_heavy_check_mark: Keeping midtones and global tint neutral, ensuring a clean monochrome effect

@ZimFromIRK , the Pause button in the identity plate will only appear if you have "Automatically write metadata to XMP" selected in the Catalog settings.
Note XMP is only Written to XMP it is not automatically read.
LrC will read XMP if available on import of images or you can use the menu option in the Library module Metadata > read metadata from files.
See the link below for help with writing metadata to XMP in Lightroom Classic.

I expose the image in high-res mode in camera, which results in a high-res file, which I then load onto my computer. So I suppose the answer is that the high-res happens in camera. However, I get noticeably different results from processing the same image in Lightroom and OM Workspace. That suggests to me that some further processing is happening in the computer.

This issue seems to be back. The Update Ai Modal Progress Window is not always disappearing EVEN if the update of Ai has finished. This happens when using the updateAiSettings argument in photo:applyDevelopPreset() I can't steadily reproduce it but it has happened when applying a preset (with Ai mask) on multiple images...attempting to stop the Modal progress Dialog didn't work and I had to restart the app. I am doing LrTasks.startAsyncTask(function()
catalog:withWriteAccessDo("Apply Preset and Create Snapshot", function()
-- Step 1: Apply preset to each target photo
for _, photo in ipairs(photos) do
-- Apply the preset to the photo (virtual copy or original)
photo:applyDevelopPreset(preset, nil, nil, true)
-- Conditionally set the photo's copyName to the preset name
if setCopyName then
photo:setRawMetadata("copyName", presetName)
end
end
etc...

I am happy that this works for users who only had issues after updating to 14.0.1 and could upgrade the previous catalog again. Unfortunately my issues with edit history and previews pre-date v14 and so this solution doesn't work! This might not be causing cardiac strain for me but is definitely causing marital strain, due to my determination to get this sorted!!

@marjav if you are talking about People Ai masks created on several individuals then they can't be synced to other images and obtain separate selections as in the source image. This is a long standing issue and it's due to the fact that there are no settings that tell the Ai to create separate Masks. You must create anew each masks in each Correction. E.g Source image has : Mask 1 Hair person 1 Hair Person 2 After syncing you end with 2 Hair masks but targeting the same person. Delete one and create a new one for the other person. Repeat for all maks, for all photos to which masking was synced. That's the only thing you can do. .

@jabraham After moving file with LrFileUtils LrC will mark them as missing and so you have find them yourself again in the good location. Tis simpler to move via LrC directly. I hear there's maybe a way to programatically cut-n-paste metadata. You can do with photo:getRawMetadata() and then do photo:setRawMetadata( )

An old thread but... I had this issue after denoising a 2016 archive file that had been imported into LR as a DNG (not as a Sony native ARW) then opened as Smart Object in ACR . I reimported the file to LR as an ARW then opened as Smart Object in ACR and there was no purple band after running denoise.

From what I can tell upon refining if the dabs in the masks are "intersecting" or "close enough" the masks are inserted in the same spot index Masks table. This is bit like saying that two sentences in two paragraphs (in a text file) should be saved in two separate files while sentences separated by a period, on the same line, you should be saved the same file. This does not make sense. Anyway aside for the issues @johnrellis reported there is also another consequence of this "logic". Steps to reproduce. 1. Paint a first "hole/stroke" (do not create the spot yet) 2. "Refine Add" another "hole/stroke" but not connected to the first one. So the first set of dabs does not intersect with the second set and neither tis "close enough" (Screenshot two hole/stroke") 3. Refine Subtract and "join/connect" the two holes. Now all 3 sets are intersecting 4. Finally create the Remove. Result: Two differet Spots were created and they both have a copy of same "subtract" masks. So it is NOT sufficient to paint connected, intersected, strokes because Subtractions do not count...probably because the function in place only considers "Add Masks" (i.e masks with MasKValue = 1) This is for me a case of over-engineering. Very simply all masks should end up in the same spot WHEN WE REFINE. I would remove the "intersect" and "proximity" logic altogether, Simpler for users, simpler code. .

I wholehartedly agree but would like one additional checkbox in your proposal: "rename folder to match catalog name". I would also go one step further and have a suggested new catalog name preloaded in the new name text box that strips off all old version numbers (and -2-2-2's) from current catalog name and appends "v-14.0" (or whatever the current release number is) but allows you to over type it if desired. When I first read about the forced backup and it's location I was immediatly in your camp about not liking being forced to do it and where it is placed. But as I thought about it more and have played with it, I now actually think it is a good design. I'm OK with a foreced backup but If it is an option it should be the default. I'm also OK having it placed as it does. The reason is this. This is not a regular back up that should shoe horn in with the set of normal BU's you may or may not take when exiting LrC. You would probably already have taken one of those before you upgraded anyway. This is more of a "quick fallback" (if needed) idea. Having it right next to the updated version makes it easy to find if needed and and makes it pretty obvious that it was the one that was updated without having to scrollthrough a long list of regular backups trying to figure out which was the last one before you upgraded.

I write into XMP for a few reasons. 1. I can edit externally in ACR or LrD (or even in Phothsop without opening LrC) Particularly ACR has one of the most vital tools for color correction and that is not available in LrC. 2. By saving in the XMP I keep a "double copy "of the edits (one in catalog, one in files) If I remove a photo from the catalog or something bad happens to my catalog I can get all edits back without having to use a catalog backup that usally is hours behind. 3.Keywords are saved into XMP which means they are available in other non Adobe apps. This is the best for archive. 4. Before I started coding I was reading the XMP to reverse engineer edits and find bugs. XMP was my only way to figure out many, many things and problems. @johnrellis came to my rescue years later and gave me his super vital Show Catalog Metadata Plug-in so I don't need to reverse engineer by reading the XMP anymore...almost. So overall yes I don't need to save into XMP but it helps. I have lost a catalog, backup was 12 hours behind and having the edits in the XMP saved me.

Faced a similar issue with copying settings from one project to another. All the masks would copy correctly but the select subject mask copies the subject from the previous image. Uffff its been a headache. The trick above works and also Another way i found a work around for this is to save the project and close. Once reopened, my mask reads properly. I guess it resets the photoshop's memory.
