Confirmed, I thought I was hallucinating but its true Photoshop 2025 gen fill is indeed unusable. I opened up a psd file done in 25.7.0 with the gen layers still there and re-generated with the same prompt in 26.4.1 and what used to look like realistic landscaping looks like roblow now.

YES! What is up with this?! It's gotten insane! Need to fill in a shadow? Here's a horror face or squirrel, or non-sensical tropical bird! I almost wonder if competitors are messing with the algorithm or something?! It used to fill patterns beautifully! WHAT THE HELL.

26.0.0 Remove tool progress bar issue appears fixed for small areas content-aware strokes, and seems even more performant for large areas. Initial use make take a few seconds, but is remove tool is instantaneous thereafter. It's working very well now in the content-aware mode. Fixed! Thank you devs.

The situation has gotten worse with the latest non-beta version of OSX (26.0.0). Despite not selecting the option to remove older versions, all my previous versions were uninstalled. When I try to reinstall an older version, the generative fill feature automatically opens the newer one instead. It’s been quite a hassle. The quality has significantly declined. This version generates far more nonsensical fills compared to the previous one, which is really disappointing.

Incorrect, before the generative AI was added into the remove tool – short strokes of remove tool typically rendered instantaneously with no progress bar. It was NOT dependent on connection speed because it rendered locally off the image data. This is what ppdix was refering to. Please read the original description carefully. Go back a few versions and test it out and you'll see the remove tool does not show a progress bar if the rendering occurs under a half second or so. Currently, on beta the remove tool has an option to use generative AI for the remove tool and that is understandably going to need the progress bar. HOWEVER, the situation mentioned here is about the current version of Photoshop which still only has local content-aware rendering, and the option in beta to use local data over generative AI. In either case, the progress bar should not appear if the render happens near instantaneously. The progress bar just flashing for a milisecond is extremely distracting. Imagine if the paint brush did that – it would be absurd.

Hey, @RedFishBlack. I'll clarify this for you.
The 'Last filter' menu item becomes usable after using a filter at least once. When you relaunch Photoshop, the history of the last steps is unavailable.
Once the above-stated condition is met, you'll find the Last Filter option in the Keyboard Shortcuts menu.
You can use CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + F to adjust the last used filter.
The issue isn't on my Windows device, as the assigned shortcut is remembered. I'll share this with the team to review.
Thanks! Sameer K

Why give the mask icon a second icon?!? That seems like a change just for the sake of changing. No benefit at all. Au contraire.

The New document dialog is so ugly and fuzzy that I can hardly read the text in there. What's going on here? Fuzzy text in a dialog? Are we going back to the '90s? I hear that I can get rid of it... temporarily. Not sure that I understand that twist. Come on, guys, I've no time to lose on this. You cannot expect that such an ugly and fuzzy and confusing dialog (at least on a mac pro) will go unnoticed? You're not trying to tell me that you put out this horror and didn't know it was an absolute no go? Guys, the scare the bejesus out of me.

Hello! I have the exact same problem as described by Andrew Forshaw. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with OS X El Capitan and Adobe PS CS6. I did experience the shortcut problems first with PS CS5.2 after upgrading to OS X Yosemite. Then upgraded to PS CS6, continued to have shortcut issues. Upgrading to OS X El Capitan didn't change a thing. The keyboard shortcuts worked in safe mode. I don't know where the issue lies or how to fix it. Please help!
