I have a document with a couple of hidden spreads. The page numbering seems to respect the hidden spreads in that it skips those pages in the numbering. This makes sense. But when I create a table of contents, it seems to insert the page numbers as if the hidden spreads were not hidden. You will see in my attached images that the page numbers on the bottom left shows page 16 on spread 20-21. This makes sense given that spreads 16-19 are hidden. When I create the TOC it does not do this. It treats page 16 as 20. Is this normal functionality? I sent this to a client and it was wrong. I should have double checked, but still, not good. Is this a bug or a feature?

Thanks. Yes I'm aware of that. I'm just looking for a quick way to apply a grayscale effect for iteration purposes. I don't want to overwrite my files when I'm iterating on concepts.

I agree that doing it in Photoshop is best for achieving proper grays, but when I'm iterating quickly and just want to test a design concept I should be able to convert a colour image to grayscale directly in InDesign. Then when I prepare for production I can adjust all my images properly at that time.

I tried this plugin and it would not allow me to open InDesign because it thought it was malware. Had to delete it. Back to the old way I guess.

Old post, but thought I would reply. This happened to me too, but then I realized that one photo I took which has a missing camera matching profile was a JPG, not a RAW. JPG photos will not have camera matching available in Lightroom. At least this is the case for me with my Fuji x series camera.

You should be able to export slices in the asset panel because slices are for making assets. Anyway, I did use Save for Web and it worked, so thank you 🙂

Hi, I haven't used slices in Illustrator for a while but I've inherited a project from someone. So I've created some slices, then I select the slices and go to my Asset Export panel. Then I click "Generate Multiple Assets from Selection". Then it shows thumbnails of the slices I just created, but they are blank. When I export them they are blank files. There is art on my artboard, what am I missing here?

I agree! It's probably a complex issue that can't be solved too easily. Plus fixing it isn't a huge money maker. They are facing a lot of pressure from competition so they are spending a ton on new features to help drive new customers. Follow the money.

Yes, it's still very much an issue. My go to "fix" for this is, after waking up my computer and going into Illustrator, I do Command+E twice. It switches GPU off and then on. The problem then goes away (until the next computer wake up).

Oh, wow. Does the lag only occur during/after using Adobe applications? Also, are you using a 4K monitor? Have you contacted Apple support? I wonder what their response would be.

I have a similar problem with my M1 Macbook Pro. I'm not using Premiere, but I'm using Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign. After a while of using these apps, my whole computer slows down. The Mac UI system animations get very choppy and I have to restart. I'm using a new 27 inch Dell 4K monitor. I only started to notice the issue when I got the 4k monitor. The issue doesn't go away even after closing all my apps, I need to restart the computer, so I think it's both an Apple issue and an Adobe issue. I'm a little late with this, but I'm experiencing slow, lagging Adobe software on my M1 Macbook Pro as well. For me the problem only started when I purchased a new high resolution monitor (4K). The lagging also appears in the mac system UI animations as well (launchpad, mission control). The issues goes away with a restart, but returns over time while using demanding apps such as Adobe CC and Chrome. I'm starting to think it's a RAM issue. I too have 16GB of ram and I've been reading that 16GB might not be enough. (all my system and adobe software is up to date) It's surprising and disappointing that this "powerful" M1 mac pro can't handle the software.

I have a bit of text on one side of my page, when I view in Desktop Preview, it disappears. It happens sporadically. The object has "Fix Position" on but it is not below the fold. It also occurs when Fix position is off. Seems like a bug. My Xd is up-to-date.

I have a file I'm preparing for print so it is in CMYK. I'm attempting to smooth out an area using the gradient tool. I have very specific CMYK values (C100 M0 Y30 K30). It's a simple gradient, one side is my CMYK colour, the other side is transparent. When I use the gradient tool on my image, the CMYK values change to C100 M27 Y43 K4. I have checked both sides of the gradient colours, even the transparent side, to make sure they both contain my specific CMYK values. Mode is set to Normal so there is no multiplying or lightening of any kind. I've done this in the past many times and have never run into this. Not sure if I'm missing something, or if it is a bug.

I have been using Lightroom classic for about a year, and suddenly my presets stopped working. When I click and hover my mouse over the preset, the effect seems to work, but as soon as I move my mouse somewhere else, the effect is gone. The one thing I did that may have contributed to this problem is I checked "Store presets with this catalog" in preferences. Then I unchecked it. After that, they stopped working. Here are the steps I have made to fix this: - updated to latest software (computer OS and Adobe) - Reinstalled LRC (twice) - restarted computer - deleted LRC preference file - Optimized catalog - contact Adobe tech support... I have contacted Adobe Tech support about this and I did the screen sharing so they could take control and look at everything. I've done this twice, and both times, when they were done, the problem was fixed. Then I continue to use it, and eventually the problem comes back again. I tried to follow along with the tech to see what they are doing but I may have missed some. The previous time the tech unchecked "Use Graphics Process", and also increased cache from 5.0GB to 15GB. Here's some other info that might be helpful: - the exact same presets in Photoshop Camera Raw work fine - the exact same presets in Lightroom CC work fine My computer is 2013 Macbook Pro running latest OS. Any help is appreciated

What if you have a lot of presets? You can't click on multiple presets, so you have to move each individual preset. That's insane.

I have 4 columns of text that are threaded in 4 text boxes. I inserted a footnote. I went into Document Footnote Options and selected "Place End of Story Footnotes at Bottom of Text". The footnote is then placed at the bottom of the column in which the footnote number appears. But I want the footnote to be at the end of the story, so at the end of the last column. How can I achieve this? "end of story" should refer to the end of the threaded text, not the end of a column, am I wrong?
