HI, Image Trace in the 2025 version performs much poorer than previous versions from the last few years. It took me a while to figure it out but the new version has left off the Simplify check box and it seems to be stuck ON by default.    I'm an illustrator who scans my illustrations into illustrator and then uses Image Trace to vectorize them. With the "simplify" automatically on I am getting poor results and so have had to downgrade to AI 2024. Is there anyway to gain control of this again?    PS I'm still slightly annoyed Image Trace took away the old CS5 option to trace multiple files at once... big help when scanning in multiple frames for animation instead of doing them all one at a time.  ... What am I missing here? I have Illustrator v28.7.2 and Illustrator v29.0 on my computer and I can't figure out why the brush tool is behaving completely different from one version to the next.    In this video the v28.7.2 brush behaves the same as it has for years in illustrator. In this v29.0 example it isn't really working at all; deleteing previously drawn lines and averaging the art into something unrecognizable.    Same exact brush/ stroke used on bother versions, sames scale on the screen.  All the paint brush tool settings are exactly the same too (set to fully accurate under fidelity, same settings for edit selected paths with 6 pixels, fill brush strokes, etc).    I can't figure out what I'm missing.    I'm grateful for any help!   ... Hi, I've been drawing more or less the same way in Illustrator for the last 15 or so years. I need help with understanding why my blend modes have stopped transferring to photoshop (sometimes). Here is an example. This drawing has 20% gray with the blend mode "Multiply" as shadows.   In past, I've always done all my drawing in Illustrator and then pasted the final version into PS to size for the assignment. I've never had problems with the blend modes appearing correctly in photoshop. Now I'm losing the blend mode in parts of the drawing (confusing to me that some work and some don't). Just got a new 16" Macbook pro (M1 pro). Switched from an intel iMac. Completely clean install on the new computer (didn't transfer any apps). I like to keep illustrator parked on my drawing screen.   Whenever the laptop sleeps the location of tools and workspace are scrambled into new locations upon wakeup (see before and after sleep images). Driving me crazy.... every time I try to do anything I have to search around for my pallets and tools. Each time things are moved into new and different locations like a game of hide and seek.       Illustrator 26.0.3   I have a Wacom Cintiq pro 24 as my 2nd monitor and I have encountered issues between adobe/ apple/ wacom drivers many times. This doesn't happen with the same monitor connected to my imac and it only happens with adobe software (illustrator primarily).    Adobe customer support asked me to delete preferences, reinstall software. Having some issues with files I created back in March that are now rendering and looking different. AE animations from Illustrator files.   Until yesterday the Illustrator source files and the AE files have not been opened since March. Now any of my old AE files I open appear washed out. Rendering the video to the same settings as previously rendered shows the distinct change in color.   I spent 3.5 hours with Adobe help yesterday and we were unable to make any progress on the issue. Color management seems the obvious issue but I  have not changed any settings, and all the attempts by Adobe support fiddling with those settings made no difference. Erased and reinstalled all the adobe software, tried some different versions... no luck.   Seems especially odd since the original files have not been touched or edited but are now changed.   Currently on AE 18.2 but the issue now happens on AE 17.7 and 18.0. It's entirely possible I am missing something but there has been an issue with LiveTrace for years that I hope will be addressed.   I have a gigantic Wacom Cintiq that I use as much as I can, but oftentimes for cartoon work I get better results with good old pen and paper. I scan in the black line work, LiveTrace, and add color on layers below with the Wacom. I do apologize to the trees I've brought down but it is how I get stuff done.   Back in the CS5 days, I could import multiple scans, select them all, and LiveTrace would apply the same settings to all of them. Makes sense to me. Same pen, paper, scanner, and drawn at the same scale. Simple black line art that LiveTrace can sort out pretty easily.   Nowadays I have to LiveTrace each individual scan individually. It isn't possible as far as I can tell to LiveTrace multiple images at once. This can be really tedious when I'm scanning in multiple frames for animation or something similar. Illustrator also still warns me that "Tracing May Proceed Slowly With This Large Image" but it just is not slow. Even back in CS5 it wasn't that slow, now on my full blow work rig the LiveTrace is done long before I could close the warning box.   So, am I missing something? Or, couldn't there please be a way to LiveTrace multiple scans again?     ... View more
