Hello, I need to create a border on many (over a thousand) images of different pixel sizes. Most of the images are not square. The borders need to appear relatively proportional regardless of how big or small the image size is. Using an action that increases (relative) canvas size by percentage creates borders of the same proportion, but on images that are not square, the x and y borders are different sizes. (insert sad face here). Is there a way to do this in photoshop I am not aware of that works on non square images? There is an old post on this forum that asks this question, (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/need-action-that-makes-an-equal-sized-border-for-images-with-different-sizes/td-p/11876979) and (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/action-that-uses-a-percentage-of-image-size-in-pixel-dimensions/m-p/9897687#M174298) but the answers involve scripting and honestly I did not understand... Thank you in advance.

Hello, I am hoping someone here can help with some confusion on my part. I am culling a catalog of several thousand photos I took three years ago with an Iphone XS. In lightroom, there are many sets of two very similar images. The first image looks slightly out of focus compared to the second. The second looks slightly blown out compared to the first. (Note: not every photo has a second similar cousin but many do.). In looking at the overlay metadata, shutter-speed, aperture, ISO etc are identical in both images. In choosing the better image I was opting for the sharper one. I am wondering, however if the Iphone is taking an HDR like shot by combining two shots and that lightroom imports these as two separate images. As a test, I merged two of these and it did indeed like light an HDR pic. Can someone clarify? Thank you in advance... SG

Hello, I am using the iphone xs Smart HDR feature with the option selected to also keep the original photo. Once all these images are in my lightroom catalog, how can I distinguish the smart HDR image from the "original photo"? Does exif display that an image is HDR/smart HDR? Thank you in advance for you help, ipanema451
