Hey @J453 Now I think I figured out what is the source of the issue and it's quite abstract. "Live shapes" don't like dual monitor setup (possibly with different refresh rates or resolutions) Steps to reproduce the issue: 1. Use dual monitor setup with different resolutions / refresh rates 2. Create new document 3. Create an ellipse. 4. Duplicate the ellipse. 5. Merge the shapes to a single layer. 6. Rotate one ellipse by hand to some uneven value like 20.6 dgr. 7. Without changing selection to the other ellipse, try changing fill - you get scale paths bug pretty much infitnie amount of times with every click. I think the program tries to snap points to pixels or something like that, but calculates it incorrectly so tries to redo it every time. 8. Undo the "Scale paths" operations. Convert the rotated ellipse into a regular shape, to do that: add a shape within the rotated ellipse, select both shapes (don't touch the not-rotated ellipse), use "merge shape components" in pathfinder to turn live shape into a regular shape - it looks the same now, the rotated ellipse is just not a live shape anymore. Click the fill color. The "scale paths" operation might happen once or twice as the points snap to pixels, but it ends at that. I'm not 100% sure if dual monitor setup (different resolution / screen refresh rate) is crucial to that, but I assume it is, I didn't have this issue when I tried working on a single monitor as a troubleshooting step in the past (although I didn't know specific steps to recreate it) and I think if it wasn't part of the source of the problem, more people would report it. User @paolor94677584 confirmed they use dual monitor setup with different resolutions and refresh rates and that the steps reproduce the issue. @sboxle @Noah24222334l7ij can you clarify if you use dual monitor setup and if the monitors resolutions / refresh rates are different?

@Earth Oliver @CShubert Ok, so I played around, I switched power management mode in NVIDIA 3D settings to "Prefer maximum performance", the issue disappeared. I switched back to default "Normal" setting and... The issue is still gone. I even restarted my PC and the issue is gone. That's some weird bug. So to anyone having this bug: Go into NVIDIA Control PANEL, 3D Settings / Manage 3D settings, then in Global Settings tab find "Power management mode", switch it to "Prefer maximum performance", restart PS. If the issue is gone, try setting it back t o"Normal" to see if it's still gone as it is in my case.

I don't know why would my mouse have anything to do with G-SYNC. Anyway I just checked with my wife's mouse (different brand) and it's the same. It works normally with G-sync turned off (globally), it even works normally on my 2nd monitoir that doesn't have G-SYNC. I also don't have issues outside of PS, even in AI or AE. I actually don't even have this issue in PS 2017. It looks like despite the per-app OFF setting Photoshop tries to use G-SYNC, since it switches something and flashes my screen black after a few seconds when I don't move the cursor and again when I start moving it, or when I move from artboard to menus and back.

App Version: I tried 23.2 and 24.1 OS: Windows 11 The issue was absent on Windows 10, PS 23.2 This is the usual issue people have with G-SYNC with a twist. The cursor lags for 1-2 seconds after doing something on canvas (using brush, transform etc.). Some people suggested turning G-SYNC off for Photoshop (it works, but monitor flashes black when switching between G-SYNC ON and OFF when starting and stopping using a tool, so unusable). Other people suggested using G-SYNC only in fullscreen mode. This is actually a default setting and I assume this is why I didn't have issues on Windows 10. However on Windows 11 it doesn't matter. It works the same with both settings - G-SYNC on for fullscreen only, as well as G-SYNC on for windowed and fullscreen. There are 3 ways to have it not stutter (and not having screen turning off and on twice per a brush stroke). The first one is turning G-SYNC feature off completely. 2nd one is USING A WACOM PEN. Yes, seriously. It stutters when using a mouse. It's fine when I use the pen. Also a silly workaround is to have at least a piece of a youtube video visible on the screen, then it keeps the refresh rate of the video. I tried to record the issue. It's absent on the recording, but I think it's expected.

I can't believe Adobe 2D software are the top world has to offer in 2022. This bug persists despite many people reporting it, there's no major breakthrough in both PS and AI for at least last 7 years. This industry needs it's 2D Blender. I can't believe I can just as well use PS 2017, even better - there are no bugs like this one, there are far less graphical glitches like layer not refreshing it's visibility etc. By now we should have a node editor, which is a standard in any 3D software even for 2d parts (textures). Instead I can't even keep swatches in a library in a way that changing the swatch changes the color wherever it's used in the document. Having ability to for example dynamically combine masks using live data from other layers and applying transforms based on specific calcualtion I want to make using inputs I choose - It would be a dream, while it's a standard in shader editors in not only 3D software, but even in Unity or Unreal Engine. At least make it so it's better and less buggy than a version from 5 years ago. You took away Adobe Preview, you added some stuff that's rarely needed, like AI filters and the library feature that's not even dynamic as I mentioned. But the main difference is a bunch of bugs and stability worse than the 2017 version I'm using. 2D software looks like car companies before Tesla and like Autodesk stuff before Blender. But they at least tried to not break it, while not caring about big improvements. The worst part is I don't expect you to try and match setups with one of us to find the issue. After all, where do we go, to competition? Prove me wrong. Sorry (not sorry?) for the rant, but Adobe is the most expensive software I'm using in last 5 years and it's the software that improved the least. I'm worried about Substance Painter now, but in 3D you actually have some competition to be wary about. I don't think I'm getting the value I'm paying for if I have to resort to using 5 years old version, because you can't fix issues that multiple people are reporting.

Hi. I tested today, it seemed to be working fine with a single display. Now I have both monitors connected to the same GTX 1080, one by DP and the other one by HDMI and the issue is back. They have different resolutions and different refresh rate, alhough I don't see how different refresh rate could be connected to the issue. Moving PS to the secondary display doesn't fix the problem. So it looks like many people reporting this issue (probably all of them) use dual monitor setup.

I wish I could edit posts. I just wanted to add that it's pretty annoying, because Photoshop is 90% of the reason I'm paying for Adobe software, I sometimes use AE and Illustrator, but that's it. And currently I work on PS 2017 to avoid the bug.

@J453 Did you try replicating it using 2 monitors with different resolutions? Doesn't it only happen to people with 2 monitors? And a quiestion to other people having the bug - Do you use a single GPU, or maybe multiple? In my case on monitor is connected to a GeForce 1080 and one to integrated GPU.

Hey, good (?) news, I managed to break a file to a point that it stays broken on my wife's PC. I'm attaching it. Sorry for a dumb file name, but somehow saving with a new name, cropping etc fixes it. I could probably rename it from outside, but I'm not risking fixing it accidentally. It's a bit different now, it's most likely still the same bug, just with some different result. This time some shapes are broken only THE FIRST TIME you press "fill". Single "scale paths" happen and then it works as it should. Here's a video showing what exactly is broken now: https://youtu.be/d2KSOYbxr2A Keep in mind some shapes seem to be not broken, the ones shown on the video should be broken though.

Hi. This is not related to a specific PSD file, it happens in every file for a few years even after clean install of Windows 10. I've found another bug report that seems to be related to the same bug here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/bug-change-in-shape-attributes-affects-shape-scale/td-p/11869289 One person suggests: "It seems to be something with specifically using a multiple screens and a cintiq, possibly". I am using 2 monitors, but not a cintiq. But, since he mentions Cintiq, maybe it's related to having 2 separate monitors working on 2 GPUs? I'm running GTX 1080 on my main monitor and my iGPU on my 2nd monitor. I didn't manage to pinpoint conditions under which the issue starts appearing, but just before I made this reply I had this issue appear literally in 2 minutes after opening a file.

Hi. This is some weird issue I had with PS versions for last few years. Usually I worked on CC 2017, but recently I switched to the newest version (and I'm starting to wonder why I did it), and the bug came up. It makes me restart Photoshop much too often. After I play around with shapes I bit, the bug appears and it only gets fixed when I restart PS. You can see the bug in a video HERE. At some point isntead of changing fill color, shape gets scaled. It was like that for a few years, in the meantime I formatted system drive, reinstalled whole OS at least twice. The bug keeps coming back.

In my case it seems to always be damaged preferences file. This never happened in the past, this never happens in PS 2017 which I also work on, so looks like it's PS itself that's damaging the file. Is hould add, 1-3 years ago I used to have a lot of PC crashes before I changed my PSU. Never had this issue back then. Nowadays my PC almost never crashes and I had this issue several times in last 2 months. It has to be caused by recent versions of PS.

Had this error at least 4 times. First time around 2 months ago, fixed by updating PS. 2nd time few days later, fixed by completely uninstaling and reinstalling Photoshop. 3rd time tomorrow morning, fixed by updating to 22.2. 4th time now. Restarting PC doesn't help. VERY annoying. Meanwhile old good PS 2017 works fine, while having Adobe Preview support and visible grid during warp transform. I swear I only installed the new one, cause 2017 is having tablet support issues with newest windows updates. So, let's reinstall Photoshop AGAIN and hope someone else comes around and makes a proper node based software so I can forget about PS after 15 years of working with it.

I created 60fps composition, imported 60fps 16 sec footage. It lasts 13 sec in AE. Audio desynced. But audio is in the proper pace, video is too fast. How does it not synce in 60fps comp?... EDIT: I also created 60fps comp in cc2015, imported same footage. its 00:16:47 like in video players. In cc2017 it's exactly 00:13:00. What's going on here?

I'm working on trailer video for another version of some app and it's supposed to be very similar to trailer from a year before. Back then I did it in AE CC 2015. I used 60fps footage in 30fps composition, audio fits perfectly, in plays at 2x speed just like the video (audio embedded in video). So I started the new trailer with some not-video assets, today I got the new footage to put into video and... Audio in AE CC 2017 is just broken, totally out of sync, strange things happen. I can't open the file in AE 2015 anymore after the edits I've done in the last days in AE CC 2017. Is there any way to fix it? To make the vids play their audio correctly again? Or do I have to start everything over from last year's version in AE CC 2015?...

That actually helped a bit, colors are almost identical now in PS, so I'm marking your reply as helpful. Still I need to apply workaround (action - open and save as RGB) to every b&w asset. I don't think the problem is 100% solved, so I'm leaving the topic open, but I don't expect anyone to give me a solution. It would be perfect if someone from "up there" noticed this and add to some notes. If moderation thinks this should be closed, then close it. For me the workaround is satisfying. Thanks.

I'm not a beginner. I don't mean a difference in displaying the picture, I mean the difference in color code and displaying in Photoshop. So, screenshots. Let's make a standard document and create 2 objects - one that has color and one that's made with only white and gray color. As you see on the right side, one should export in 50% scale with name test_color.png, and the other 50% scale with name test_white.png Here's the "Generate>Image Assets" checked. After this, I save the document. Now I have a folder with assets - these 2 elements scaled to 50%. Let's open them. First one - red. Looks fine. RGB mode. Now white. What the? At which point have I decided to export this in grayscale? The files were both exported in the moment I saved the document. Where is my very specific input? Seems like Photoshop just tries to be smart and decides to export it in grayscale, cause this element doesn't use anything other than white and gray. Lastly - here's exported 50% size ball (#d7d7d7) on the original ball (#cccccc).

I'm working on sRGB file, not in grayscale. Exported assets are too bright, so batch converting them won't help, as they will still be to bright. I know some solution would be to batch edit levels so the brightness match (more or less) the original, but that's not a quick and proper workaround.

What export dialog do you mean? I'm using the "Generate Assets" option added in CC, that exports assets based on alyers/group names every time I save the document. In "Export Preferences" "Convert to sRGB" is checked, but it looks like it doesn't apply to generated assets.

Hi. I'm trying to automate process of exporting assets for animation purposes. I'm using Generate Assets option with layer naming (45% name.png). Unfortunatelly after 2 days I noticed that B&W assets are too bright. Turned out Photoshop decided to export all the b&w assets in grayscale ruining their proper brightness. How do I avoid that? I want color to be proper, would be great to export them as RGB.
