This is an Adobe software bug. I've worked in after effects for decades, always keeping my software current as the bugs come and go, but after the most recent 2024 update, after effects intergration, the AE/Premiere Dynamic link is supper slow. I've found that sometime if I right click on the embedded AE clip in Premiere, and click Edit Original, that that it can wake the link up so it works correctly.

What is more strange is that once I place the an AE composition on a timeline in Premiere, the AE preview is great - nearly realtime. It's just within AE that preview is encredible slow for really basic text. FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, ADOBE!!!

I'm having the same issue with AE 24. I've update at least three times since it was first released. I'm on older Mac, 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, but this shouldn't be happening, and seems to be happening with new computers too. I rely heavily on AE for animating graphics for clients. This is driving me insane and costing my clients a lot more because it takes so long for me to animate text using After Effects. This is such a basic function of AE. I'm not going to list the curse words I want to use here, but the list is long. VERY LONG.

Hi Kevin, Mac Monteray 12.1 Adobe Premiere 22.1.2 After Effects 22.1.1 Media Encoder 22.1.1 I am desperate for After Effects to work with Media Encoder right now, but since this is a Premiere forum, I will focus on that. Premiere looses all dynamic links if i open or close after After Effects while Premiere is open. I have to open AE, open Premiere, the close Premiere, then close After Effects. Comps cannot be relinked or imported- only dragging a dropping new links from AE to PR works. Also, I cannot import photoshop files at all- although I'm downloading the version of PS that just came out a couple days ago and we'll see how that goes. I have -cleared render caches -deleted all old versions of Adobe products -deleted all preference files from each app -anabled software rendering only -disabbled multi frame rendering in AE and ME -disabbled import sequences natively in ME -Uninstalled every Adobe product including creative cloud and then repeated the previous steps Any ideas? -Nikia

I'm having the same issue of no way to export h.264 from After effects. I've tried adobe's recomendations and they don't work. I tried to leave plenty of time inbetween projects to deal with bugs, but I've never seen such horrible upgrade as the current versions of Adobe, January 2022. Now I'm under the gun with thousands of dollars on the line and no work around so far. ABSOLUTELY MADENING!!!

Same. Absolutely horible. I've got at least 15 major issues from importing, dynamic links, editing, encoder. OMG. Right now I'm flabber casted that it doesn't recoginise a project I started in 2022 as 2022. I thinks it's a 2018 project so instead of just double clicking on a project file to open, I have to right click and "open with". The file icon is just a blank white square. Likely the most reckless release from Adobe to date. 2015 iMac 32 GB RAM

As of today, I have all the latest versions of the Apple OS (Monteray 12.0.1) and Adobe Premeire (22.1.2 Build 1) and After Effects (22.1.1) and now I can't drag and drop a dynamically linked AE sequence into Premiere. I can go to File/Import in Premiere and those dynamic links do works, but it saved A LOT of time to drag and drop. Sometimes I a partial message pops up (see image attachment). I've deleted the media cache, the dynamic link folder and disabled multi-frame rendering. So far nothing has worked. Any Ideas?

Copy and paste are such a basic function. It's ridiculous that Adobe has let this error continue and that they have marked this question as answered. "We know about the issue" is not a solution!
