The recent Beta update altered the method of using the mouse's left-click to drag across the opacity percentage values (<--->). Now, a pull-down for a slider is required to modify the values, which reduces productivity for changing percentages on the fly. It would be beneficial to revert to the original feature.

Have you checked under the PS Windows pull-down menu to make sure the Contextual Task Bar is checked on? If not checked - the Generative Field will not be seen. A very common issue among new users.

Was this your created PSD with your current PS or created by someone else's PSD? Originally the PSD was inside of PS, but when saved, may have corrupted. Keep all other apps off when working on large files. You did not mention other large PSDs failing to open.

Check to see if you can launch from Photoshop.Exe from the Program directory. If PS launches—delete the shortcut and create a new shortcut. Still fails, do a clean uninstall PS with Revo Uninstall (do not save preferences), then reinstall PS from the Cloud.

First, have you updated the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti driver? The alternative is to try another GeForce RTX 4070 or a 3070 to see if this corrects the issue. Likely an incompatibility issue between the MB, the RTX, and PS. Mysteries at work!

There have been many community posts regarding the subject matter. and they have been flooding PS community emails over the last several weeks without an update to PS 25.0.0 (Beta). While other updates have occurred, the select and mask issue seems to become a non-priority, though reports by PS that this has gone to the team. Despite other application issues, this one is the most targeted. At some point, I am sure that this will be corrected, but the question remains.... When?

My first guess is there is a file-handling error occurring in your installation of Windows 10 / AMD when trying to open CR2-CR3 files from your Canons. I do not have that issue with my EOS R3 or R5 on Win 10 or 11 running with Intel 13th Gen. and 64 GB RAM. I might suggest you find another PS user on Windows to see if the same file(s) will open for editing. Or, upload the troubled RAW file on WeTransfer along with the link to see if others report that issue. An option is to install the free Windows 11 upgrade. Check your Windows Update to see if your PC system qualifies.

Brush cursor in select and mask displays as a mouse arrow pointer Photoshop Beta 24.7. Was working until the last update. Please forward the issue to the PS team for immediate updates.
