I came across the same problem and accidentally found that I had to clear out the search and replace fields and close the edit PDF window. When I did a new search or search and replace, the Whole Words Only option was unselected.

That the Pen Tool doesn’t work for »Pixels« seems perfectly reasonable.
When creating a Reactangle or Ellipse that is a finite process, the Pen Tool is intended to create Paths with varying numbers of PathPoints so the process is not as clearly »contained«.

Why do other programs seem to be able to render ⍼ regardless of font? Including, for example, whatever browser you're using to read this right now.

that info is for individual subscription users trying to change the language of apps including acrobat that will be installed using the cc desktop app.
also, it's not clear what you're trying to do. eg, if you're the admin of a team/enterprise account and want to change the language setting of acrobat, https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/change-language-settings-of-acrobat.html
or are you asking about language packs for adobe reader? are you asking for a language pack for subscription or continuous license acrobat? windows or mac?

you guys really need to incorporate your community input before removing features like this. I depend on this pen tool width and varity of color chocies. what graphics program in this day and age limits user colors to 10? Did you allow some non-artist to make that decision? You've restricted it so much that it's useless.

I am an architectural illustrator that has been using Photoshop since version one. I have taught PS at the college level for 12 years, and for the first time in 30 years I am considering ditching PS. Disabling the pixels on the line tool feels like a slap in the face from Adobe - even more so their resistance to changing it back. What next? Axing blending modes? Will I be able to rely on PS current features in the future? Please fix this to restore our faith that you care about the community if nothing else.

I agree that new "features" should default to off, not on. Obviously. But it's that culture of arrogance going around the corporate world, where they stupidly think that they know best and can rightfully force us to change how we do things or impose new features on us without our consent.

I wonder if he was thinking of Photoshop. One of the thousand reasons I tend to use Photoshop even when Illustrator would probably be more appropriate. Really, graphic work these days is far more likely to be for something other than print media, that being the only situation where Illustrator is clearly superior. Desktop publishing used to be really important, but now it's just a niche market. I can make do with Photoshop as long as it's not gonna be a poster or flyer or something.
