Stephen, thanks! This is part of why I've never gotten into smart objects. So confusing to learn. Do you agree, in this case/ scenario.. (read thread), maybe i'm best just adding a new merge visible to the top of all alwyers for the unsharp mask?

I think they should just add a collapsable panel as a place to access those if you want, just like swatches, layers or anything else. Then you can just detick it under window if you don't want it there. Turning it completely off in preferences is good of course, just get it off the workspace Adobe!!! The AI toolbar too, let me collapse it to the side where I can find it if I want without having to figure it out and turn it back on

Let me slip in here for Eric. One thing I think you need to check is what keyboard your Mac is sensing.
If you go back to the Function key screen I showed you how to get to before, click on the item below Function keys, called Modifier Keys.
On the upper right of that you'll see Select Keyboard. Please see if that is in fact the keyboard you are using. If you're using a Mac keyboard, let us know. If you're using a 3rd party keyboard, see if you have an app that you downloaded to customize the keyboard. If you can't find it, go to the manufacturer of your keyboard and download the app (they WILL have one)
If you are on a Mac and wish to customize the keys, there are a number of URLs showing you how to do it. With a brief skim, I did find this; I hope it works for you:

If you setup your keyboard shortcuts using "Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts" and then "Create a new set" (the marked button in the attached image). This set will be carried over to the new version when you update Photoshop, if you do as Anshul_Saini suggests when updating. The problem is that once you start your updated version of Photoshop, it often (randomly it would seem) reverts back to the Default set. So you will often have to go into "Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts" and reselect your set. It's a bit of a pain, but once you know how to fix it, it's managable. The set file can also be backedup manually, if you want.

Hi, @larry45, are you aware that you can load both JPG and TIFF images into ACR? You can set this up in the Preferences so that it will always happen, or you can right-click on an image and select it to open in ACR.
The one caveat is that if a TIF image has any layers, it cannot open in ACR. You need to both flatten the TIF image AND then Purge the Cache for that folder from the Tools menu. (This is very similar to refreshing a web page).
GIF, PNG, and PSD images cannot be loaded into ACR.

Why did this go away when I downloaded the 64bit version ? It was a very useful tool when trying to print to scale. Now what do we do ?

The other option is to record an action to upsize and then run it via Image Processor (not using fit) or alternatively via Automate > Batch.

Great job Gary! Files ok, but full disc not. So let you know if persist, my guess done. ANd 6-7 important apps there that needed full disc, so set an alert in calendar every 6 months to look at all that! BTW, as anti clutter person, if you have any clue what these are in there, I have no idea : Smbd, sshd-keygen-wrapper, XProtect, BackService, sh,

Erik great thanks. Also how keep Adobe creative cloud in menu bar, it's there and then not there. on former issue: This happens cause: 2023 is in dock Adobe does get rid of old version for you. Or even alert in anyway you have the newer version of something right in app folder ready to use. Adobe confusingly calls them 2023, 2024, and elsewhere, numbers like 14.1 that have no meaning. Instead just calling everything 2024.

George is still there, still good and not in a black hole. They changed their support system to Zendesk and one of their main sales people left so customers may be querying old support replies and/or replying to the person no longer there.

DW CS6 is obsolete web software. It's of no value to anyone anymore. Too much has changed in 11 years— web technologies, browsers and web devices are completely diffrent now.
Use a modern code editor or switch to an online web platform like Squarespace, Webflow, Wix or WordPress.

Ok, I got a hold of it. As I got (in Bridge) to Edit/Camera Raw preferences/File handling and I set the "JPG" drop down to "Automatically open all supported JPEGs" it got back to normal.

So that is the Photoshop preference at work!
You either set it to open JPGs (and TIFs) in ACR, or you don't.Only the Ps Preferences change that.
When JPGs open through ACR to Ps, it only requires one mouse click on the ACR [Open] button to continue to the Ps UI.

@larry45 "Reset to Saved Layout" in Bridge is the Reset function, but perhaps reset is not really what you need or something else has happened that prevents "Larry" from resetting to what you expect. Perhaps the unwanted changes you made to Larry were saved, so resetting just reloads the new version (the original Larry is no longer there).
We really do need more information to help you.
- What changes did you make to "Larry" how did you make them?
- Did you ever click "Save Changes to This Workspace"?
- WHat do you expect to happen when you reset "Larry"?

As for Clarity, that's simple. At least what it is based upon, what it is doing (more or less):

Based on Mac Holberts old Photoshop Midtone Contrast which you can still apply today with his free Action(s).

You can see the Process Version in the Calibration Panel. You can also update the version from there. Any change you make is saved when you hit the "Done" button. You can update many images at once by opening them all simultaneously in Camera Raw, select them all then update as stated above.

Hopefully, Adobe will continue to fix this bug so our save window can be placed anywhere on the screen.

Unfortunately, no. SFW is a "deprecated" feature.
"Deprecated" means they don't recommend using it, and that it isn't undergoing further development.
All I'm able to do at least is to show you the expanded dialog which works better than the compact version.
That's my understanding unless an Adobe Employee knows more.
