I have the same problem with the Photoshop 25.11 on Windows 11 23H2. Photoshop sees the plugin and says it is loaded, but the plugin does not work - no log files created anywhere. I have tried all the suggestions from this and nearby topics and no luck 😞

The problem is still here even year 2024 in PS 25.7 (25.7.0 20240415.r.504 130b225 arm64). As an alternative workaround (instead of trimming) you can wrap the group into the another group, then call Merge operation on that newly-created wrapper group. And if someont from the Adobe interested, here is a error stack gathered with the diagnostics tool mentioned in the help article linked from the error dialog (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/program-error-opening-psd.html). Photoshop Error information
Code: -1

Looks like in 24.3.0 20230316.r.376 37b4b38 x64 thing become just worse and Save operation is completely broken now. And even the check mentioned above does not help. Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.3.0 20230316.r.376 37b4b38 x64 Operating System: Windows 11 64-bit Version: 11 or greater 10.0.22621.1413 Sample code var newDoc = app.documents.add();
newDoc.saveAs(new File("C:\\test\\1.psd"));
newDoc.artLayers.add();
newDoc.save(); //will fails
//saveWithActionManager(newDoc.id); //will work
function saveWithActionManager(docId)
{
var idsave = charIDToTypeID( "save" );
var desc267 = new ActionDescriptor();
var idDocI = charIDToTypeID("DocI");
desc267.putInteger(idDocI, docId);
executeAction(idsave, desc267, DialogModes.NO);
} doc.Save fails whether there is unsaved changes or not (sample code above explicitly introduces unsaved changes before save). And the doc.saved check will not help here. The only way I get this worked is to use Action Manager-based code.

Yes, as a temporary fix I replaced doc.save() with if(!doc.saved)
{
doc.save();
} But I still hope that we will get back the old behaviour that does not require any additional checks in this scenario.

When I try to save current document with jsx, the document.save(); operation fails in case of there is no changes in the document. The error message is following: "Could not complete the Save command because of a program error".
Test code (you need to create "C:\Test\" directory first)
var newDoc = app.documents.add();
newDoc.saveAs(new File("C:\\test\\1.psd"));
//newDoc.artLayers.add(); //uncomment to prevent error
newDoc.save(); //will fail
In the previous versions of Photoshop you can call Save for any documents with or without changes without any errors.

Thank you! Yes, the problem was definitely caused by hardened runtime / System Integrity Protection. How could I forget about this? Additionally I can confirm that if the SIP will be fully turned off, the debugging also will be working again.

I'm developing Photoshop SDK plugins. Recently I updated my Mac to the new macOS Catalina 10.15.4 and installed new Photoshop 21.1.3. I added my previously built plugins in the Photoshop's plugin location and plugins works fine - I can call them and got results. But when I try to attach to the Photoshop process with XCode (v11.4.1) I got a error
DetailsCould not attach to pid : “27291”Domain: IDEDebugSessi 855031; RawLLDBErrorMessage = "Error 1";}--System InformationmacOS Version 10.15.4 (Build 19E287)Xcode 11.4.1 (16137)
I also tried to attach with lldb via the Terminal, but also no luck - the same "Error 1". Meanwhile, there is no problems with debugging any other my (standalone) application, with UI or console. I can either run directly from XCode with consequence automatic debugger attaching, or manually attach to the application already run. Could someone advise, what changed in new versions of Photoshop and/or macOS which prevents debugging and how we can now debug our plugins?

As for Photoshop SDKs, looks like the newes version are available in new place - https://console.adobe.io/downloads. I just downloaded CC2020 SDK from here. And it actually new SDK, with support of the Cloud documents and so on. There is also a few words about notarization of plugins in this new SDK.

You cannot save a cloud document, psdc, locally No, in the remark above I saying not about cloud psdc, but about simple local psd. Steps * create PSD * try to it to to local disk C:\ in the local folder called "cloud-content", so the path (local path, no cloud) will be C:\cloud-content\test.psd. Yes, it is a little bit strange name for the local folder, but why not? app.documents.add(100,100); app.activeDocument.saveAs(new File( "C:\\cloud-content\\asd.psd"));
* this code will throw an error. Just again - no cloud functionality here at all, just trying to save local file, but due to "magic words" in the path the operation fails. I also can replase saveAs call with tha AM-code (also without referencing any cloud-specific entities such as "cloudPSDFormat") - and it also will fail. So how does a user backup cloud files? No problem with this. You can "Save as" cloud psdc file as local psd file via the Photoshop UI or via the jsx code with document.saveAs (but you should specify the target path which is not containing "magic" word "cloud-content".

Yes, this AM code works fine and saves in cloud. Thank you. --- In additional to the original report: if I want to save *local* file in the path "C:\cloud-content\test.psd, it still fails. And I could not workaround this with AM code (with your code with removed idcloudPSDFormat, or with the code captured with script listener). It's a strange desire to save file to the such special local path, but who knows, may be this remark will be helpful for your debugging.

No, it also will not work with path like C:\cloud-content\asd.psd with the same error. As I can see from my tests, any path which starts with <any drive letter>:\cloud-content<any suffix>\any\other\path.psd will cause the same error. Wherein the paths where 'cloud-content' part is not on the top, e.g. C:\test\cloud-content\asd.psd work as expected.

then the file will be saved, but not in C:\cloud-content1 folder, but to the following path C:\Users\User\Documents\Adobe\Деловые партнеры Photoshop Cloud\asd

Adobe Photoshop: 21.0.0 20191018.r.37 2019/10/18: 614690fb487 x64 ScriptListener plugin is installed. After updating to 21.0.0 I see unexpected behaviour of ScriptListener - the listener's log ScriptListenerJS.log is very large and grow very quickly even I do nothing inside the Photoshop. And the log is full of the MRUFileListChanged event blocks like the following
var idMRUFileListChanged = stringIDToTypeID( "MRUFileListChanged" ); var desc5980 = new ActionDescriptor(); var iddontRecord = stringIDToTypeID( "dontRecord" ); desc5980.putBoolean( iddontRecord, true ); var idforceNotify = stringIDToTypeID( "forceNotify" ); desc5980.putBoolean( idforceNotify, true ); executeAction( idMRUFileListChanged, desc5980, DialogModes.NO );
Steps to reproduce
Close Photoshop
Clear ScriptListenerJS.log and save
Run Photoshop, create document and draw something
Close document without saving.
Check ScriptListenerJS.log
Expected behaviour - the log is stable, no records being added (because no actions is being performed in Photoshop) Actual behaviour: the log is infinitely growing by adding the MRUFileListChanged blocks mentioned mentioned above. The only way to stop this is to close Photoshop. This behaviour almost blocked my jsx scripting work and this is very sad.

When I use "Color" blending, I got incorrect color under the some circumstances. Environment: OS: Win10x64-1809 (OS build 17763.437) or Win7x64 Photoshop: 20.0.4 20190227.r.76 2019/02/27: 1205725 x64 Steps to reproduce:
Create PSD with 1080*1080 canvas size.
Create layers group
Create red rectangle inside the group (use Rectange tool)
Set Stroke to None in the rectangle settings
Set Opacity=95% for the rectangle
Use Free transform to stretch the Rectangle on the whole canvas
Set Color blending for layers group
Remove white bacground layer
Expected result - semitransparent red color over the whole canvas. Something like this RackMultipart2019050689278179n-a2fa7294-9feb-4b98-8110-3af050236ffe-2009607994.png Actual result - semitransparent black layer RackMultipart201905061117031gk-7f8b8885-9369-44fc-a2ab-b05ce872bdf2-46455127.png Also, when I exporting the group with "Quick export as PNG", I expecting semitransparent red color, but get the whole black color without transparency. The problem gone if I turn on "Use old compoistion core" in settings. The problem can't be reproduced on non-square canvas sizes and unstable reproduces on different canvas size (like 100*100px") For the reference - the screenshot with document settings and rectangle layer setting RackMultipart2019050652648hi9j-ec050f00-6c09-4aed-8223-f3569b8972a4-449441641.png Comment for myself - referenct to my local ticket PTT-1852

Adobe Photoshop Version: 20.0.1 20181029.r.41 2018/010/29: 1197484 x64 I have PSD with frame animation and the at least one layers group, I can't use the "Paste frames" command with "Paste over selection" option. When I try to run such a command, I get the error "Could not complete the command because of a program error". After removing the layer group (with "Ungroup layers" command, thus the group's content is not deleted), the "Paste over selection" starts to work fine. Steps to reproduce:
create new PSD
create frame animation
create the new frame (there should be 2 frames now)
create new group and create new layer inside this group
in the Timeline panel under the "hamburger" button select "Copy frame"
Again in the Timeline panel under the "hamburger" button select "Paste frame..."
Select "Paste Over Selection" option and press Ok.
The error will be showed.

I also ran into this problem. Moreover, due to some task-specific restrictions the workaround with the smart-object-inside-smart-object is not a solution for me. So, the proposed way with additional option for the Liquify smart filter will be highly appreciated. By the way, it is very disappointing that such an issue was already noted by Adobe staff as "high priority known bug" here (https://forums.adobe.com/message/6271379#6271379) in aug 2014, but nothing has been happened since then on this issue. I hope, more correct behaviour will be implemented in future updates.
