Thanks for this link. I am currently sticking with PSUserConfig.txt What puzzles me is that it still works even though many reported it stopped working a few years ago.

Overexpose with blown out highlight, there is no more data to play with. If if may, my two cents are: go for underexpose instead when you are in situation like that, at least you will have data to play with. For Exposure Metering: go for spot metering. Depending of your camera model, as a exemple in the setting of like in the Nikon D850 you also have that great option of [ Highlight-Weighted Metering } it's especially for those types of photography, such as theater, concert, or situation, of a bright subject and dark background. Of course ISO is your friend also the quality of your lens at least with a opening of f2.8, noise will be more present in the dark area that you can fix easily in post production.

j'ai enfin trouvé le problème. A priori quand on travaille sur des photos de nu (même partiellement), le remplissage génératif ne fonctionne pas. Il faut donc tricher et cacher la peau.

thanks for the reply. I did, but still less quality, unprecise and really slow compare to last 2024 update.... I'm a fan of the remove tool, it's incredable, so usefull and the result is a wow factor.... but need to stay as good or evolve in the right direction, not to be broken with new version as many tool as experience with update and new version..

Xanathon wrote "...as you can see from the multiple tries to force their usage of our work for AI training upon us"
This is false. Adobe does not use your work for Generative AI training.
From Adobe Help:
"Our Approach.
We do not and have never trained Adobe Firefly on customer content.
"Adobe Firefly is trained on a dataset of licensed content, such as Adobe Stock, and public domain content where copyright has expired. Adobe Stock content is covered under a separate license agreement, and Adobe compensates contributors for the use of that content.
"We do not train and have never trained Adobe Firefly on user content.
"We recently updated our General Terms of Use to explicitly spell out this commitment (Sections 2.2F and 4.3C2)."

I tried using the PSUserConfig.txt way to force PS not to use Windows Ink but no change... But I found another interesting thing. If I turn off the button on the toolbar that says "Always use pressure for size" I don't get these hangs and the memory climbing until all the Ram on the pc is used. So I can't use pen pressure but that's kinda the point of using a pen, to be able to use pressure and tilt.

Or you could switch to a Xencelabs tablet, which I did late last year. It not only has a nicer feel than the Wacom, it doesn't have the problems with pressure sensitivity. Both pens (it comes with two) work beautifully. You just uncheck "Windows Ink" in the profile for Photoshop, and you're good to go.

Actually after trying Generative Fill multiple times on your provided image and not really getting good results, i ended up using the Remove Tool for the below results.

Hi, something it can be challenging and frustrating with Photoshop. As you know, more tech info you share better it is to get proper assistance. As you know, the GPU also depend of other component and setting. > Your Processor model and does it come with or without and an integrated graphic. > Did you set up your preference for photoshop in NVIDIA Control Panel ? it's important , more so when the processor have integrated graphics. > Did Photoshop preference-performance recognise your RTX 4090, if yes, did you set your preference in the advanced menu ? > GPU temperature > RAM , how many do you have ? Photoshop loves RAM. Did you test it in the bios or else to be sure everything is working properly ? > Latest NVIDIA Drivers > Latest BIOS Version and so own...

thanks for you reply. The bug is concerning the home screen not to show either at the start or when needed to go to the home screen.. It was working fine 2 days ago, so.. PS do not freeze or crash, so no need to upgrade to 25.4, so i will wait and I don't want any new bug to appear. thanks.

Happy to report that 8 years and 7 Photoshop versions later, this is still an issue. Using Ryzen 9 7950X integrated Radeon graphics. Photoshop and the graphics driver keep crashing each other every time Select and Mask is clicked. 💃 Guess that's never getting fixed then.

Layer mask - Reveal all - means add a mask that is empty and does not hide anything. That way it can be painted on, with black, to hide areas of the layer. This has not changed.
Assigning a shortcut to layer mask - reveal (or hide) selection, is not an extra step. It will add a mask that reveals (or hides) the selected area. Again, this is not new and has not changed.

davescm thanks for your reply. The file was save before shutting down PS and was save on a second local SSD drive. (Samsung 980 Pro) all my local SSD are also Samsung 980 Pro. I also have many Exterior SSD Drive and never had any issu with PS.... that<s wath I do I do my work on Internal SSD drive and when the job is done et finalize, I do tranfere them on external SSD drive. agree with you multiple save is the way to go and PS is set to save automaticly every 5min. But in this specific case I did not save many copy increments. But still is not the first time and never-never had that problem, more so because the file are always manually save. befor closing PS or else...
