If you want to open a Premiere Pro project in Audition to do a final mix, it is actually much easier than using OMF, or "Edit in Audition" workflow.
Simply open Audition, then execute "File>Open..." and point to the Premiere Pro .prproj file and then the "Open" button. Audition will then read the Premiere project, and present you with a dialog asking what sequences you want to open. All edits, audio effects, and audio keyframes will be then opened in Audition. Effectively, Audition can read Premiere project natively.
"Edit in Audition" workflow is just for legacy purposes at this point.

I've updated to Sequioa and it seems to have fixed the bug I was experiencing. Will try a few more projects in the hope it is finally resolved.

Assuming you used an XML to import to Premiere Pro, those subclips were defined in the XML. Either Final Cut or whatever intermediate translator you used described the clips as subclips, so that's how Premiere Pro imported them.
Those blue ranges are clip markers. If you also open the Markers panel you'll see them listed there when the clip is in Source Monitor.

Ok so here's what worked for me. Once you have your video in the timeline, go to the text panel and you'll see three dots (...) click on them and there's an option that says Generate text editing transcript or something like that. It then let me select, copy, cut, etc the transcript and the video was being edited at the same time.

I have this same issue, any idea how to resolve this? I tried selecting "more space" in display settings on mac, but it messes up resolution and everything on mac is too small..

Thanks @mattchristensen. I did watch this video along with Karl's other nine videos; but I missed the crucial step, at 07:52, of leaving all the projects open as I migrate the project into a Production so that all the links are maintained.

Hey @arlens46928762 thanks for the feedback. While you can't recognize faces or specific people with the upcoming Search panel, we definitely have heard that it would be wildly useful.

@melody8219 Thanks for trying out Search panel! Right now the Metadata search is matching against all metadata the project knows about. We're looking at ways to improve that, and give you control over which specific metadata you want to search for.
If you're talking about the length of visual results, there's no specific limit. For example if you have a 10 minute clip of a person looking at the camera talking, and you search "person looking at the camera talking" you should get a result that is 10 minutes long. Are you seeing a limit you don't expect?

@KazuTa I replied on your other post. Short answer: the Reassociate command you found is to help in cases of unintentional clip moving; it isn't needed when breaking apart a project to a production. I also linked to the documentation PDF for Productions, which has a page on how to do the migration you're attempting. Hope it helps!

Cruious if you have figured something out. Im in the same boat. I don't need it, and it slows me down. I change names a lot in finder so it'll say its missing. I don't want it to tell me its missing at all, i would rather just re-import the image with the new name. Did you figure out a solution?

Hello all,
Sorry for the hasty request. I changed the title slightly to see if the dialog box or the issue, in general, can be improved. I think that may describe the problem better.
Cheers, Kevin

Thank you for this well thought out explaination. It helps me to beter understand the purpose of the beta version and the intention to help flesh out other bugs by the community that may have been overlooked by the devs. Your professionalism is not overlooked and appreciated. Thanks, again.

Hi @mayjain Thanks for the update. Sadly, having run some initial tests in v25.2, I'm still having the issue. In fact, it seems to be worse now. Main difference I noticed, was that after switching to Software Only (via startup menu), the render now takes roughly twice as long as in v24.6.4. The CUDA export (v25 default setting) on the other hand took the longest it ever has. These are the results of my initial export test, using my 17 minute reference timeline: Default (CUDA) 10:30 min // 7:10 min // 27:30 min // 17:10 min Software Only 8:30 min // 8:28 min (vs. 4:30 min in v24) I need to do some more tests to try and confirm what the new the baseline is, but if this is going to be the default going forward, it sounds like it's going to become a much bigger problem for me!

@Nick Ha and All,
Announced in the Beta 12/16/24, "With the new Search panel, use natural language to find these visuals, plus spoken words in transcripts or clips with embedded metadata like shoot date, location, or camera type – all at the same time."
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-discussions/now-in-beta-search-panel-finds-the-shot-faster-with-visual-search/td-p/15042130
A staff comment on productions is here:

In context, I think markers/labels are also planned. But so far (I'm on Build 104), it includes visuals, text, and metadata.

I also have an M4 Max and am currently editing a project (UHD 25fps) with r3d clips (4800x2700px). I am currently doing the sortout and keep clicking back and forth between the source monitor, timeline and programme monitor. whenever I drag a snippet from the source monitor to the timeline and then switch back to the source monitor, there is a 10 second delay when I press play again. I then started the project on an M1 Max and it worked fine. At first I thought it was my setup with the BM Ultrastudio 4k Mini, but even without it the project makes the same error. I also changed the sequence settings to 4800x2700px but also no changes.

BTW I'd like to report this bug is getting worse and worse for me. In a project with 7 interviews, 5 of them were unusable in transcription mode. Every time I tried to edit a transcription it would corrupt passages of text. Weirdly there were also missing passages of text and text incorrectly exporting when using the .txt file format with no line breaks (only happened on two sequences out of 7 but no apparent reason) and one project even completely refused to export a .srt. In that project the sequence was 25P but the transcript time codes appeated to be in a 60 base. eg 00;01;15;59 which made no sense. There is something seriously wrong with the engine. I've reported this as a bug but nothing has been done since my OP. The only workaround is to translate to captions and edit there.

If it sometimes works it sounds like you are recording with a stero mic and the channels have a phase shift that causes the audio the cancel out when mixed down to mono. You can try to open your source clips and choose "retranscribe" from the "..." menu in the text panel and pick one of the channels instead of the default "mix"

Thank you for that feedback. Noted on the interface refinement 🙂 As for productions - there's some good and some slightly less good news. The good news - the search panel already works on all open projects, not just the active one. So if it's feasible for you to have the source media project open alongside your editing project you can already search across (parts of) your production projects while editing. That said - we are aware editors would like to search through production projects without opening them. But this requires additional effort. Since we need some of the information from the project there is really no good way to search through projects without opening them at least once (+ of course analyzing the footage). But we are aware of that request and might come back to it in a future release.

This indicates that transcript was a "static" transcript, which does not support text-based editing. In future, I recommend transcribing your source files, rather than nesting.

Same issue on SOME of the clips - some work with setting new poster frame others revert back to first frame as soon as click off them. Adobe Premiere Pro (Beta) V 25.20 Beta (build 95) Apple M2 Max 32 GB Sonoma 14.5 Three displays- Dell U2415 x 2 and HPU28 4K Media is 4k (4096 x 2160) but several different frame rates: 23.976, 24, and 25 FPS - maybe should check if it is only happening on one of those frame rates?
