Hi there! Thank you for the update! I've only used 25.6 for 10 minutes now and I couldn't reproduce the bug yet. (mouse only) What a relief! On earlier 25. and latest 24. versions I could do it anytime, anywhere, right after starting Photoshop. I really hope you smashed the bug with this fix! Right now it seems I'm finally able to work with the latest version. If it gets stuck again, I will definately report. Big thumbs up Adobe, thank you!

I've noticed in Gimp they have another way. You simply don't need to click with the mouse, you just navigate while holding space bar and move the mouse. I never thought of that before, but I can get used to it pretty fast since you hold space bar anyway in PS. Wouldn't that be a temporary solution? To just have a simple option in the settings to activate only-space-bar-navigation. No mouse click needed. It wouldn't harm anyone who is not affected by the bug. But give people who are affected the option to work with the latest version.

Hi there! The bug still persists in 25.3.1 and occurs instantly on my system. Last week I tried to use Photoshop on my girlfriend's system. (Latest version, Windows 10, Wacom Tablet) Unfortunately it was also bugged. Just navigating around the image with space bar and mouse got instantly stuck. When I asked her about it, she said that she got used to it and just works with it anyway. I wish I could ignore it like that, but I can't. It drives me crazy when this occurs and it's killing my flow completely. There are probably way more people affected, but I can picture only 1% of us actually sign up to the forums and complain about it. As CJButler already mentioned, most folks just click again and by that accept the software not working correctly. Judging by numbers this is now in the top 5 highest upvoted bug reports of all time here. It's massive! Since 3 of them are marked as fixed, this could break all the records. It's good to know that at least someone at Adobe is still trying to figure this out. Thank you for keeping it up! And it's also kind of sad, looking at the profits they make a year (billions), they could do more in this case. At some point the older versions will no longer be available and won't be supported anymore. It will be a sad day, but before being forced to accept this bug and work with it, I will probably just quit Adobe and switch to Affinity Photo. CJButler I hope Adobe will support your efforts and have more technical staff investigate this error. Happy holidays to all of you!

Thank you Caity, that is good to know. I've updated to 24.7 but unfortunately the problem still exists for me. And as I noticed today, it also affects the crop tool! I just click on the edge and move it and sometimes it gets stuck and does not let go. So it's probably not related to the space bar button specifically. Just to take a guess: Maybe there is a problem with mouses that operate at higher frequencies. (such as gaming mouses) I'm using the ASUS ROG Gladius at 1000Hz for example. (Mouses with lower frequency kind of stutter on my 144 Hz monitor) I hope you will find the solution. Photoshop is unusable for many people with this bug. I'm back to 23.5.5 where everything works fine for me.

This is horrible! No solution seems to fix it for me. It's like someone is holding down the spacebar after you released it. But it's only in Photoshop, our keyboards are not broken. Please Adobe fix this massive bug! I will switch back to an older version immediately. All these fancy new functions are useless when you can't properly navigate around your image. It's very frustrating.

Ironically the ALT menu seems to be deactivated in Lightroom.

+1 for the option to disable the ALT menu. It's very annoying to have the menu pop up while using the clone stamp or brush tool. Please let us choose to deactivate it.

Hi Trevor, thank you for the reply. I probably didn't describe it correctly. On my project there is already a complex path with curves and loops. Using the 'Stroke Path...' option I want to turn this path into a lightning ray. But I can't find any brush that makes it look like lightning. I was hoping there is a simple way to do it.

Hey there! For a new project I want to create a custom lightning ray that follows my path. It's a complex path with curves and loops and I want a lightning ray to follow along. It should look as realistic as possible, like from a real thunderstorm. But I can't find any way to do so! There are lots of options for the brush, like jitter and pressure, but nothing I use leads to an authentic lightning ray. I know how to create it by hand, using multiple single rays - but with a complex patch it's a lot of work. Is it possible to do it using a path in Photoshop? Best regards

The Save for web (legacy) export option works fine for me! It preserves all exif data like camera model and lens. But you have to make sure the image you're currently working on actually contains exif data. I noticed when you use the protocol to open the current image in a new tab, it loses some exif data.

Great, so it's not my computer or the german PS version! 🙂 Thank you! I hope Adobe can fix it soon. If I may add a suggestion: It would be awesome, if you can click on the opacity/fill slider, then use the mouse wheel to change the percentage instead of moving the whole mouse. I feel that sometimes it is not accurate to move the mouse. In Lightroom all sliders can also be clicked then changed by using the mouse wheel which I really enjoy, it's so much more comfortable! I was always wondering why it does not work in the flagship Photoshop? Would be great for color balance sliders, camera raw filter etc. Also the double click to reset sliders would be great. Have a nice day! With best regards Malu83

Thank you for the reply! I don't see how it may be connected to the keyboard. Preview in 20.0.8 works very well and fluid. It's currently really not working for me. In most cases I hold and drag the opacity to 50% but there is no preview. Only when I release the mouse I see the preview. It's very bad to work with and takes a lot of my time. It would be kind of okay (but not good) if it jumps to preview after a second, but it does not. It seems to be broken, like a bug. Can anyone else confirm? Just try some color lookups layers and try to change the opacity percentage while holding and moving the slider. With best regards Malu83

Hello! Since the update to PS 21.1.0 (german version) my opacity and fill slider is not working right. When I click/hold and move the opacity or fill slider in the layer panel, it does not show a live preview. Usually as long as I hold and move the slider there's always a live preview at every percentage. (no matter how many layers I have) But with 21.1.0 it does not seem to work anymore, I click/hold and move the slider, but there is no preview - only when I release the mouse button it will show the difference. Unfortunately it is very annoying to find the right percentage of opacity/fill when you don't have that preview. I'll probably have to use the older PS version until this is fixed. I also have a feeling that the overall performance is slowed. When I use a color balance layer on top of other layers, moving the sliders seem to stutter some times. It worked better with the older version for me. But the opacity/fill thing is way more important for me... Are these known bugs? Is there any solution to it? I'm using a i5-6600K with 32GB RAM, SSD and GTX 1050Ti @ Windows 10. Please tell me if you need a PSD or anything, that may help. Thank you very much! With best regards Malu83

Greetings! Sorry for digging this thread up, but I'm having the exact same problem. Using the latest Photoshop CC 21.0.3 and not being able to export an image with full exif data. I use LR for first steps on images and PS for fine-tuning. If I bring them back to LR afterwards and export then, exif is there. But no matter which export option I use in PS, there's never exif data like camera model, lens id and shutter parameters. I've tried Save as... but there's no exif data. I was wondering, why it is not possible in PS by a simple checkmark to keep all exif data, if I prefer it? When I use Export as... there's only the option to keep copyright/contact information or no exif data. Why is there no option to keep full exif data? It's the same reason for me, uploading images to photo sharing sites and show exif data there. I need to export images in different file sizes and resolutions for several platforms and always bringing them back to LR for exporting to keep exif data seems like an unneccessary step which could be easily done in PS. Thank you and with best regards Malu83

Hello! Thank you very much for the reply. I'm using Windows 10 and the individual layers are in Screen mode, didn't change the group blend mode. Legacy compositing is unchecked. I've tried it with Photoshop 2019 version now, it works fine there! Andrew if you still want to look into it, I'll gladly send you the PSD - E-Mail incoming. Thank you so much! With best regards

Greetings! Is this the right way to report a bug? I have a group of overlay textures - all in blend mode Screen - and put a color/saturation layer over the group, then clip it to the group. When I change the saturation then, my Photoshop causes problems. The overlays change their opacity, irreversible. Zoom into image doesn't work anymore. When I delete the color/saturation layer now, all layers lose their thumbnail. But the image still looks broken. Only restarting Photoshop helps for me. But how do I change color/saturation values of my overlay group now? I guess it's some kind of a bug. Can anyone recreate this behavior? With best regards

Thank you! Unfortunately it's a very old and small Wacom tablet without any buttons. But I think it will be enough for my needs, just for the pressure thing. Is there any explanation from Adobe why it's not possible to assign arrow keys? Does Adobe answer on this forums too? It would be so much more intuitive for me. Everytime I need to use # or - key, I have to look at the keyboard to hit the right button. But not with the arrow keys, they have a seperate place on most keyboards and I can't miss them on mine. They don't seem to have any use when I press them in Photoshop...I just can't understand why it is not possible to use them in such a good and complex software. I've tried to assign PageUp keys too, but it also won't work. With best regards

Greetings! I'm trying to assign my arrow keys for shortcuts to increase/decrease brush size and hardness. But it won't work, it always tells me that it is an invalid key, for all arrow keys. I really don't like the standart shortcuts and trying to work with an old pen tablet... It would be very helpful for me to use the arrow keys on my keyboard. Is there any reason why it won't work? Any workarounds? Thank you and with best regards

Greetings, I'm a bit confused about how to send this error to Adobe. Where do I find crashreports? I'm using Windows 10 and LR crashes, then just tells me that a report will be sent to Microsoft. My Lightroom CC 7.3.1 crashes when I use my dvd-rom drive! By putting in or removing a disc the screen goes black and it freezes. After the error message LR needs to be restarted. What can I do about it?
