Generally, 32-128 GBs should be fine for running most jobs with Adobe publishing apps (ID, AI, PS, AP). If you are doing some serious 8K video editing or 3D rendering, you may want more.

Just did an InDesign update. Surprise: Nothing has changed regarding the write protection problem or the problem of not being able to overwrite PDF files. I think the "team" should stop collecting information and start solving the problem. I have the feeling that no one at Adobe is interested in a solution. It's just a lot of work... This really can't be called customer service - it's more of a rip-off. You get an inferior product for a lot of money.

Hi everyone,
We've seen cases where the Selection Tool stops working properly (unable to move objects freely) after the Windows KB5050094 cumulative update, particularly when using an external monitor. A bug has been logged, and the product team is actively working in collaboration with Microsoft to investigate.
As the experts suggested, here are some workarounds that have helped users:
1. Uninstall the KB5050094 update from Windows Update History: How to uninstall a Windows update. - If the option to uninstall is unavailable, try the other workarounds below.
2. Change display settings: Adjust resolution and scaling, see if it affects the issue.
3. Run Windows repair: Some users have reported success after repairing Windows.
Let us know if any of these steps help! I will keep you posted once there is an update from the product team.
^

Removed previous post about them being Windows lock/temp files. @Ton Frederiks is correct. Wait. No, those are from a Mac. Sorry! I go back and forth all the time, and I forget which lock/temp file each OS makes. Anyway, they are harmless lock/temp files.

Please please please please give us a checkbox to turn off the notifications that pop up every time an image is updated. I also like to listen to music with Apple Airpods when I'm layouting, which then automatically switch from the iPhone to the computer every time the (video) notification pops up. That's really annoying.

Try remove the font folder in package it will work, it worked for me.
By @morsy74
This will mean that you've fonts duplicated - installed in the System and / or in Adobe's own folder and / or in the Fonts subfolder.

To quote an irritated user who posted on User Voice, before the number one thread for Acrobat was taken down, "The UI designer should be sent to North Korea and forced to dig his own grave". Maybe a bit extreme, but I think it neatly encapsulates our feelings about the New Acrobat. By the way, the threads that Bevi Chagnon started now state that the requested changes were implemented, which is absolute gaslighting of the highest order. If I couldn't revert to the Old Acrobat, I would have to find a new pdf creator/editor.

I haven't experienced any real lag in Photoshop on my three Windows 11 systems under conditions similar to what is being described. I don't think the problem is necessarily Photoshop. The systems have varying hardware. One is an i7 9700k with 64GB of 3200MHz DDR4, a 1TB 970 Pro and a 6GB 1060. The second is a Threadripper 2950x with 128GB of 3200MHz DDR4, 2 1TB 970 Pros (scratch) and a 2TB Aorus (boot), and two RTX2080s. The third is a Threadripper 3955wx with 256GB of 3200MHz DDR4, 2TB FireCuda 530 (boot) 8x2TB FireCuda 530 RAID10 array (programs), 400GB P DC5800x (scratch) and a 6.4TB D7-P5620 (backup), with an RTX3090ti.

The main reason I currently run Windows 11 is the lack of Adobe's support for Creative Cloud in Linux. I find Windows 11 very annoying, but it is completely stable. (I've never experienced a crash on my two home systems or work system, despite having modified the registry in quite a few instances. Still trying to get rid of Edge!) I just prefer using Linux. The idea of using Proton to enable CC in Linux is appealing to me, but I seriously doubt it will ever happen, and even if it did, there would be no technical support. I don't foresee Linux ever being a supported platform for CC. I hope I'm wrong.

bro what i did was a complete reinstall. Wipe everything clean and install again, not the most convenient fix but a no-brainer, and PS got to work and save like normal again.

It’s great to see Adobe prioritizing security and keeping up with modern authentication methods. The QR code sign-in is a helpful workaround, but updating the OS and apps is definitely the best long-term solution. Hopefully, this transition goes smoothly for everyone!

Yea, calling that "odd" feels like an understatement 😄 I think, i've reached a point, where i checked every possible setting, i can't figure out, what's causing that problem. Trimming the available RAM for all Adobe programms seems to do the trick for now, but is no long-term solution by any means. I mean, there are a few possible tweaks i can do, but they mostly cost money which i'm not willing to spend since my pc is 3 months old. If anything new happens, i'll let you know! Thanks for helping 🙂

This issue might be caused by corrupted preferences, a faulty installation, check or outdated software. Try repairing the installation via Help > Repair Installation in Acrobat, updating to the latest version, or resetting preferences by deleting the preference files in the AppData folder. If the problem persists, uninstall Acrobat using Adobe’s Cleaner Tool and reinstall it fresh.

Hi @Oshino Studio,
I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with recurring font issues, especially with commonly used fonts like Helvetica Neue. Let’s work together to resolve this.
One step that might help is clearing the font cache. This can often resolve font recognition issues in InDesign. Please follow the steps in this article: Troubleshoot Fonts in Illustrator & InDesign.
Additionally, I recommend clearing the InDesign cache directly. Here's how:
- On Windows: Navigate to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\ .
- On Mac: Go to /Users/[your username]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version [#] .
Once you’ve tried this, let us know how it goes. If the issue persists, feel free to share more details, such as your InDesign version, operating system, or screenshots, and we’ll be happy to assist further.
Best, Abhishek Rao

But each page / spread can be rendered separately.
Each graphic object - TextFrame, placed vector graphic, etc. - can be rendered separately and then combined on the page.
Even when there is TextWrap involved or transparency - it can be split into separate tasks.

That's funny, because I think Illustrator is not intuitive for a Photoshop user and I'm literally raging at the opposite things. What kind of program doesn't let you right click on layers for a context menu? Why do I have to select a tiny box/circle next to a layer to select the shape when the layer is already selected? Why does Ctrl+T bring up a text editor rather than Free Transform? I had to google just to increase the width on a stroke. Why can't I simply fill a color into negative space of a shape? I think Illustrator is utter garbage lol. I think Adobe could definitely add more parity between their programs to make things easier, but they don't. The programs look identical and there should be some functionality that carries over... Like shortcut keys like "CTRL+T for Free Transform", or RIGHT-CLICKING FOR A CONTEXT MENU ON A LAYER! I'd like to see some actual quality of life improvements to Adobe's suite rather than AI tools.

Hi Illustrator is written using a decades old codebase, that only works with 1 CPU thread. Adobe is aware just how slow illustrator is, and they have a couple of surveys going on here https://survey.adobe.com/jfe/form/SV_cGbDwd2k1gfpIOO and here https://survey.adobe.com/jfe/form/SV_czQpFnmd3PWAreS regarding the lack of speed. Adobe feel there is a lack of uptake on these surveys, but the counter argument to that, is they are incredibly hard to find. Adobe have announced some multi-thread speed ups here https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/20423296-make-illustrator-multi-threaded-on-cpu#{toggle_previous_statuses} in the new beta.

Thanks to everybody, I'll save locally on the next job. Maybe it was the SSD cache (Sandisk Extreme Pro 2 TB, should have 26 GB) - though not only the saving, but also the entire system got slowed down massively. There's also 300+ GB free space left. After the file was saved, the system still was that slow - until I closed PS. That's why I wasn't suspecting the drive. I never had this issue before, though I - apparently stupidly - have done this since at least a year without issues.
