It's not File Eplorer that's doing this, it's Photoshop (CS6) that is doing it. If it was File Explorer, it would be doing this with every file that I open and save, it's only retaining the original date with Photoshop CS6. I now have 2025 (subscription) and it's not happening. But CS6 is on my work computer, and it still does it there.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around why they defaulted to this method - and only with the newest versions of Photoshop and not the rest of the suite. Do you know anyone who sorts every piece of artwork by the creation date - including updates to artwork? I can't imagine it. LOL

So why would every other program - including adobe programs - show the latest save date, but Photoshop shows only the original date? I didn't set it up that way - I clearly wouldn't have. I don't really have any need for displaying both dates - not that I would know how to do that. Seems like just another dumb thing they did with Photoshop to keep amateurs like me guessing. lol

I really don't understand this because it's only in Photoshop, no other program on my computer does this. I just opened an illustrator file, saved as with a new file name, it shows a date of 7/19/2021, while the original file was 2019. The only way a Photoshop file will save with the current date is if it's a new canvas, as in, I didn't open an existing file. Any image I open in photoshop retains that original save date indefinitely, even when I save it to a completely different drive. I only have one date shown in File Explorer, and for every other program on my computer, if I Save As, the file always get the current date. As I mentioned, this is only happening with Photoshop Subscription Download. very strange...

I've searched for the answer and couldn't find it, but now I'm baffled. When I open an existing file and make a change to it and "Save As" (to create a new file name) the date I'm getting is the original file save date - even though I made a change and saved it with a new file name. If I create a NEW canvas and paste the same image, it gives me the current date when I choose "Save As". Why is it giving me the original file save date on the hard drive? This is making it impossible to sort my files by current date unless I create a new file. In older versions, if you saved a file with a new name it gave you the current date! Thanks again.. sorry to be inundating people with these issues, they're all on the subscription version and it's frustrating.

Thank you, I can download it from my work computer, and I also still have 5.5 installed on my PC. Strangely, there are times when I just open 5.5 to make a graphic because I don't want to deal with some of the known issues I'm facing with the "most current" version I just downloaded (I don't even know what it's called).

Thank you... that seems like a bit of work. We shouldn't have to build a default palette that has been in every other version. It just seems odd that as the software progresses, it is more diminished. We pay for the latest only to find tools we had and liked in earlier versions are gone. Why would they remove a simple palette that was useful? I'm sure I'm not the only person who used that palette. I build flyers and business cars in photoshop, most of the time, the colors don't need to be custom calibrated, so it's easier to just select a color... but with a couple of dozen layers, who wants to customize every color? Thanks for the info

Thanks, I know people always ask if I searched before I posted, and I did. But the first 12 that it fed me had nothing to do with my dilemma, so I decided to just post my query. And 481... definitely not going to read all of them! lol

I would truly hate to think that someone who purchases the entire suite of programs for severall hundred dollars per year would not get access to any of these swatch libraries if they didn't have a prior version. This is getting to be a problem with Adobe products... seems to be many limitations on tools in programs in the current version when they existed in prior versions. How does that make the current version any better than prior versions? Highly disappointing. Thanks, though. At least now I can look in my Illustrator and try to get them loaded there - my palette was missing from the first open there, too.

That's the problem... since I purchased the entire suite of programs, I've never had that full palette, from day 1 it was a black and white color sample, and nothing more. My CS6 version was on my work computer and I'm working from home full time so I downloaded the latest... and so many things are now limited that it's annoying. Even in Premiere there are far fewer video transitions than there were in the prior version, but people seem to think I'm in the wrong program. lol

These are the only choices I have, and even in RGB or CMYK there are only 6 primary colors. I have no idea where "Art & Illustration" exists, or even "Default Swatches"... so I can't even find a hamburger menu. lol Thanks...

Hi... Thanks, but the problem I'm having is that the swatch library (shown in my message) doesn't exist in any of the libraries. When I first opened PS, I had a black square and a white square - and that's it. I've since gone through all libraries - including the 'legacy' library, and they're all limited to certain palette colors, and no where near the number of colors in the image. I'm trying to figure out why I can't get a palette with all of the colors that were in prior version without having to recreate all of those colors and add them to a custom palette.

In every version of Photoshop that I've used, the default swatch library was as shown in the attached image. I had it in 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and in CC. Now I've purchased the subscription based and the swatch libraries are not even close. Many times I'm creating a basic graphic and want to select default colors, but I can't find this swatch library.... what am I missing? When I first opened Photoshop I had black and white. I've been through all of them... can't find it. Would be nice to have it back, it makes things a little easier than having to mix a color every time. Thanks... still just learning the new features...

I had a blank screen, so I didn't even get to a point where the workspace was open. I also noticed that Photoshop was being finicky, too. Is his what we can expect from subscription-based programs?

You must be an IT professional. lol Yes, my computer was restarted twice due to blackouts yesterday, after I had already closed, so .. no, it didn't shut down unexpectedly.

I've created a couple of videos in Premiere, but now every time I open an existing project, the layout and windows have moved and changed. Things are disappearing, and then a few minutes ago I tried to open it again and got a completely blank screen - no splash screen showing existing projects, just a blank screen. It happened four times. Even when I did open a project, my bin wasn't showing up, so it wouldn't present all of the clips/graphics that I was using in the video. What gives? This is very frustrating.

Thanks... since I just spent $$ on the subscription, I'm not quite ready to spend another $600 on third party transitions and effects... I'd like to be able to get full use of those that are included with the Adobe products I just purchased. Basically, none of the After Effects transitions are showing up in Premiere Pro... but when I was on CS6, they were.

I purchased the full subscription, and installed Premiere and After Effects. But I have noticed, for instance, that many of the transitions I was used to seeing in CS6 are not available in Premiere. Many of those transitions are in After Effects, but I don't have any of those AE transitions availabel in Premiere. I'm trying to find out how, or if, I can load those AE transitions into Premiere Pro.

Thanks, I realize they are diffent, but I didn't ask how to transfer transitions from CS6 to CC. I asked how to get more transitions and effects in my current version, like I have in CS6. Since I'm now paying for the full subscription for all current software, I'd like to be able to use those AE plug-ins while using Premiere2021. CS6 had access to my AE plug-ins, the current version doesn't.

I just installed Premiere and After Effects (Creative Cloud), and when building a video in Premiere I find limited transitions and effects. When I worked in Premiere CS6 at my other job, all of my After Effects transitions and effects were available, but I don't have them all in Premiere 2021. How do I get the effects to work in Premiere? I'm sure it's simple, but I am still learning... TIA
