I just wanted to followup on my previous post regarding the remove tool working for me. I have had mixed success with the remove tool. After seeing the post about using presure sensitivity on the tool I will try making sure I've got that setting set to use pressure sensitivity. I am really frustrated with the lack of support from Adobe on this seamingly insignificant problem that can be a massive inconvenience.

I won't say reducing history states is a complete cure but it does make the tool usable. Glad it worked for you.

I have had the same issues others have with the remove tool. I finally reduced the number of History states to about 10 and voila, the remove tool has been working well. By the way, I'm also on Version 26.0.0.0. Hardware in Intel i9, 64Gb of Ram and Windows 11.

Hi Carlos, I'm on 25.7.0 and I still have the problem with the remove tool maxing out memory. I've set the Image processing to Stable in the preferences and set the pen tool to presure sensitive and it still occurs. It doesn't happen all the time but fairly often. It doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to when it's going to happen or how big of a job you are removing. I also tried selecting each object then clicking the checkmark to remove. I've also tried remove after each stroke. I'm on a PC i9 with 64G.B. of Ram. Are you on a PC or Mac?

Hi Patrick (Paddy), I believe the problem you are having is one that is UNIQUE to Dell XPS 4k laptops. I should say it was unique to my XPS 15 4K laptop and it's driven me mad until I figured out what was happening. The folks in the threads above all offer pretty good advice for fixing corrupt profiles but I believe your problem is Dell's renamed version of the Adobe RGB profile and the use of Dell's Premier color program that runs automatically. If you have that set to Adobe RGB for Photos you will receive the error you are getting. I had to make sure I was using Adbobe RGB (1998).icc as the profile set to default and in the Windows Color Management program and completely disable the DELL Premier Color service to keep it from running at startup. You can probably do the same thing by going into the startup tab in Task Manager and setting it to NOT startup. Once you do this and restart you should be good to go. I just use Adobe RGB fro all my PC's and use my laptop to tether with when shooting so I didn't want to change my profile to SRGB. Let me know if you still continue to have problems and I'll be happy to help you over the phone. Happy editing

Roberts fix also fixed my problem on a Dell XPS 15 laptop. I have had this problem off and on and yes, it happened to me after loading Photoshop CC 2019 as well. I copied the sRGB IEC61966-2.1.icc profile to both the folders specified in the beginning of this post but that didn't fix the problem. Going into the color management app and setting my color management to my profile created by my Spyder color managed profile for the Dell 9560 and making it the default worked for me. Why this changes occasionally is beyond me. I suspect it may have something to do with On One's Photo Raw that I use as a capture software.
