So many bugs, I ended up going to Davinci, never looked back.Most stable editor I've ever used to be honest. Not that it helps your problem but the issues with PP don't seem to go away.

I could only get it fixed by a windows reinstall, once it's corrupt the problem resides in the system someplace. Hopefully not for you but I tried everything.

Finally solved my Prefences freeze, created a new account in Windows, removed the old one and now the new account works as it should. Doesn't require reinstalling Adobe apps either. Only way I could stop PP from freezing, not even the latest beta would make it run right. Seems to be a rogue file in the user account or something. Now it all works well... for now.

Having Premiere Pro work for the last couple of years with no change in hardware doesn't make it machine specific. I uninstalled it, removed all plugins, used the cleaner utility. In this case it would appear to be an Adobe problem itself as they know of the issue and are working on it.

Yeah DaVinci is on my radar now. I just downloaded the free version to test it. Probably makes economic sense as the full version is reasonable for what it contains and no subscription. Not seeing anyone with my Edit/Preferences problem so far and they only appear to be addressing the File/Export problem at this time.

I have the beta installed, still locks up when I go to Edit and choose any of the preferences. And I mean locks up, no matter how long you wait, it freezes when you click anywhere after that. Uninstalled, removed all plugins, reset prefs when loading using ALT key and all other options set to not load. File->Export just sits there as before but no lock up, other options open up. Just Edit is my main problem.

If I select File it locks up, if I go to Edit and any of the preferences, it locks up. None of the fixes listed stops this for me and I hear of others with the same problem. Tried the beta also, still the same. I suspect sonmething in the registry is affecting both programs, no idea, Windows 10, 64 bit.

Thought I would get by it by installing the beta but that crashes just the same. Has yours started working yet? I have uninstalled everything, plugins, ran it without addons, in safe mode and as admin, still crashes going to the file menu and/or edit settings.

I don' tthink so, mine locks up so I have to close the program down, I waited and waited and to no avail. This also happens when accessing the Preferences options as well. Other than that the timeline and everything else works as it should. I suspect a windows update and Adobe not playing ball.

Yes that's a good call, didnt think to use the shortcut key to export, at least I can do that for now. Tried al I can, I suspect this is a windows update causing the problem and Adobe has to catch up. Can't see whar else it could be. Cheers

Same thing has suddenly happened to me, did you fix it? I have reset, uninstalled, downloaded new gfx drivers to no avail. File menu causes it to crash, other menus seem ok. Doing my head in.

I know you can copy a clip's attributes so you can copy the keyframes from its scale or position ok, but what if you have a pile of keyframes that you did for the Position in the effects panel, and wanted to copy the same amount to a different property such as the Rotation one? It seems strange that you can't do this, I know the result will be a different effect but I would like the same amount of keyframes I've used in one area to simply be copied to another. There must be a way. Thanks

Used to be that when you wnet to Save your project, or Save all, that the item would be greyed out to indicate you had done this since your last edits. Now whether you save or not there's no indication of it as it is in windows programs in general. Just wondering why that is. Many times I'm resaving because it looks like I haven't done so, the menu item should show that status.
