The announcent that Adobe Premier will support Nikon N-RAW is indeed very good news. I know Resolve is supposed to be the coolest software out there but I find it exteremely hard to use and uneccessarily comlpicated as far as colour grading is concerned. I have tried going through multiple nodes only to achieve the same result in Premier in a few steps with Lumetri Colour on a few adjustment layers. Looking forward to the update. Jonathan

I had those problems with "AI" selections on my "old" notebook with an Intel Core i7. It seems as if the older internal Intel HD graphic card and the missing RAM aren't suitable for new ACR versions. With that notebook, I wasn't able anymore to use the subject selections. Even with my Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra (latest Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, nVidia RTX 4070 Mobile), the latest ACR version leads to stutter or system freezes when using the AI supported functions, whereas on my PC with Intel Core i9-10900K, 128GB RAM and nVidia RTX 3080 Ti, I have nearly any problems. What's also annoying is, that Adobe products eat up the RAM like nothing. When you open a photo in Photoshop, it loaded into the RAM. But after closing the photo (not Photoshop), the RAM won't be freed! After my workflow sometimes I have approx. 100GB of 128GB filled. So, when you open a photo with a high resolution (like my photos with 45.7 MP from my camera) in ACR and do a lot of work, the RAM is full and Adobe begins to use the paging file, which slows the system down extremely.

At first, thanks for your answer. Well, the technical preview of the AI denoise must use different routines, otherwise it would still create a new DNG file. If this wasn't new tech, it wouldn't be a preview feature. The Geforce RTX 4070 is the mobile version with 8GB GDDR6 RAM, 80W TGP, Boost Clock 1605 MHz. I also get a message, that the AI settings have to be updated everytime I check or uncheck the Denoise checkbox in the detail tab. Another thin I noticed is, that the cursor only begins to judder, when I use the pen of the Xencelab pen. When I use the notebook's trackpad, the cursor behaves normally. I will post this in the bugs section as you mentioned. Or some moderator could move this thread over there. Thanks.

I can only agree with this opinion! Also found the manager very useful as a point of contact for managing and organizing ALL modules as a headquarters. I also found the operation there to be more comfortable and clearer. I would really like to see the original manager remembered. I also have to admit that some errors have crept in during the restructuring. In one place you can delete and/or rename, in another place you cannot, and the menu of the modules (color, gradient, brush, contour, etc.) has different content/range of functions in different places (menu bar vs. panel). It looks immaturely cobbled together, as if several departments were independently involved in the design and usability wasn't an issue? Everything was better before! 😉

Guten tag!
1) Are you using third party plugins?
2) Can you setup the status bar at the bottom to show the GPU mode and report if it changes at the same time?
You should see D3D12 on windows: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html#real-time-gpu-status

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately this doesn't work with my touchpad (pinching only leads to scrolling to the left, two finger tap opens the context menu)... I have to use the touch screen directly, what annoys a bit (when I don't need the stylus) because of the fingerprints and I don't always use the notebook in tablet mode. 😉 But that's my personal problem. There should be an option in the preferences to toggle this function on and off. Nevertheless, thanks for your help.

I think, the topic can be closed... In my opinion it's the lack of enough RAM. I now have a Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 with 16GB DDR5 RAM, which works flawlessly. But the RAM consumption of Photoshop increased tremendously with the Creative Cloud versions... The CS6 outperforms the later versions in this regard with ease.

I don't know how much this will help for Windows users (specifically I use Photoshop 2022 - 23.3.2 and Windows 11) but this was the best that I could find. Apparently, it may depend on the codecs (as Mister_M3780) mentioned. This post from 2020 may provide some helpful information. I essentially ended up just running my .mp4 videos (with wrong codec) through a converter to make .mov type to fix the problem with the codec mismatch.

Hi Chad, I'm a member of a digital painting program and I and many others have noticed the same problem with mixer brushes. The lag is sometimers so bad that it seriously affects our painting. As you said, it's worse when zoomed out. Is this something that Adobe is going to resolve soon? It only started happening after I updated to version 23.1.0. Also, is there a way to uninstall the update? I'd like to go back to the the previous version as it's a real issue for my work. Thanks, Susan

Please update to a later version or go to "Preferences" -> "Technology Preview" and disable the "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" checkbox. That should work. Unfortunately in version 23.2.2 the clone stamp tool is laggy again, when hitting the Alt-key, it begins to stutter again...

I have exactly the same problem but deactivating "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" didn't do the trick. The cursor still stutters massivly and the clone stamp tool for example is unuseable. When you press ALT once (or hold it pressed), the mouse beginns to stutter (in the top menu 'Filter', '3D' etc letters are underlined) and it won't stop unless your press ESC or ALT again. The stutter stops temporarily when the cursor is moved to my second screen but begins to stutter again when moved back in the main Photoshop window.

Greetings,
Updates to the Adobe Photography Products were released yesterday and include a fix for this issue. Please install the December update, restart your system and verify that you are no longer experiencing the issue.
Thank you for your assistance in reporting, providing additional information and, most of all, for your patience.

"3. Although the color of the brush preview is set to red by default, it is not shown, when I change the brush size or edge. I now have to guess or paint a dot to see what it looks like." I have the exact same issue here and it drives me mad... This preview was so convinient... Lots of problems since the last update... Do something Adobe !!! >:(( Glad you don't have the problem anymore since you changed your windows version but i'm on MacOS and it seems i cant do anything...

Resetting the brush tool didn't work. But I had some findings: 1. The key binding on the German keyboard layout somehow seems to interfere with the English layout. Because when I change the language in Photoshop to English and press the '<'-key, I'll get the same brush but not as an eraser. 2. It is the very first brush in the brush list. 3. When you're hitting the '<'-key and the left mouse-button simultaneously, the brush isn't changed to eraser mode. After letting the '<'-key loose, the brush tool stays in eraser mode until I end painting (letting loose the mouse-button). After letting loose the mouse-button the tool jumps to the very first brush in the list (round and soft) again.
