I believe it might be this same issue: https://community.adobe.com/t5/substance-3d-painter-discussions/bake-problem/m-p/15131057#M8747

I am not sure, but I wonder if maybe you're having this same issue: https://community.adobe.com/t5/substance-3d-painter-discussions/bake-problem/m-p/15131057#M8747 Edit: No, I don't think that is your issue at all, ignore!

I'm very glad it worked for you as well 😃 Now we should hope that Adobe and Nvidia will work together to fix this so that we don't have to stay with an older driver!

That's the version I linked to in the other thread and which worked for me as well.

Unfortunately I have no other suggestions then! It might help someone else, or the one that ultimately (hopefully) help you if you list your drivers information and graphics hardware though. Wish you best of luck!

Had the same issue with the latest driver for my RTX 3080 ( 572.16 ), I reverted to the December version ( https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/237786/ ) and the oddities are gone! I hope Adobe will work with Nvidia to fix it in upcoming versions in either driver or SP!

Okay, my steps seems to work. However, I've noticed that we also need a neutral environment map to get the full range of unbiased colours. I created a totally white HDR file and then set SP up like so:

I don't use Substance Designer, but having taken a quick look, it looks like you can, when in a project, go via the Edit Menu > Preferences > Projects > Color Management, setting the dropdown to OpenColorIO, Custom on the next line, and then click the ... to the right of the path it shows there. Then if you set it up for Painter, I guess you can just select the same ICIO file in there. You can try?

Hello again! I have not verified the results of this, but at least I figured out how to get the tonemapper into SP without SP dying on me or spitting out red stuff in the log. I downloaded the .ocio and the .cube file from https://modelviewer.dev/examples/config.ocio and https://modelviewer.dev/examples/pbrNeutral.cube respectively. I went to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio and created a folder that I named khronos_pbr_neutral and added the .ocio file into there. I then created a subfolder named luts into which I copied the .cube file, I also created a subfolder here named filmic and put another copy of the .cube file in there. (I have no idea why it would have to be in both places...) Finally, I went into Blender 4.2:s folder structure and grabbed the file xyz_E_to_D65.spimtx from the Blender 4.2\4.2\datafiles\colormanagement\luts\ folder and put a copy of it in the folder khronos_pbr_neutral\luts. We'd then have it like so... Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio\khronos_pbr_neutral\config.ocio Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio\khronos_pbr_neutral\luts\pbrNeutral.cube Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio\khronos_pbr_neutral\luts\xyz_E_to_D65.spimtx Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio\khronos_pbr_neutral\luts\filmic\pbrNeutral.cube After this start a new project in SP, go to Color Management, and set it like so... Color management: OpenColorIO OpenColorIO configuration: Custom Configuration file: [click and then go to the khronos_pbr_neutral folder you created earlier, select your config.ocio file] Please share your experience, and if you have a better way of making it work!

I'd like to request that the Khronos PBR Neutral Tone Mapper is added to the Substance Painter and Sampler programs. Maybe also Designer? I don't really have much experience of that program. Alternatively, I request that you publish a guide for letting the user add it themselves if applicable. I've tried with the OCIO file they've published ( https://modelviewer.dev/examples/config.ocio ), but as-is it crashes Painter (bug reports sent at least twice from the program on restart, running the latest version of Painter on Windows 11). Thank you very much! 😃 Some reference reading available at: https://www.khronos.org/news/press/khronos-pbr-neutral-tone-mapper-released-for-true-to-life-color-rendering-of-3d-products https://modelviewer.dev/examples/tone-mapping

Any updates on this post please, @Marion3D? I also have yet to get any feedback on my other post that I linked from my last reply here, regarding preview of multiple materials. Thank you very much!

My partner and I are experiencing crashes that has caused a popup on Sampler startup that lets us file a bug report, however we notice that the auto-response is coming from contact @ allegorithmic.com and we wonder if you are receiving the bug reports? Windows 11 23H2 22631.4037 Sampler 4.5.1 Thank you!

@Marion3D just adding a reference to the other post I mentioned: https://community.adobe.com/t5/substance-3d-sampler-ideas/previewing-several-materials-in-a-ssa-file-next-to-each-other-on-a-mesh/idi-p/14809256

Hello Marion! When here I speak of Materials, I mean those listed in the top left corner, which you can have one or more of in a project file (*.SSA). As you keep making more of these in one project file the project file grows huge quickly, with for example the consequence that the file gets ever more impractical to share with partners. For this and also other reasons, being able to extract a Material while retaining its layers and their properties is an important feature. Even more helpful is it if you implement the other feature request I posted for previewing materials side by side. One could have it work in one or both ways of exporting a single or multiple materials as a SSA file, and / or in a target (receiving) project, choose to select an SSA file to import from and then selecting materials to import from it. The effect of an export can today be achieved in the roundabout way of making a copy of a SSA file and then remove the unwanted materials from the file copy. But there is no way to import materials with the layers intact. I hope this is clearer now, otherwise I'll try again 😃 Thank you!

I am currently in the midst of creating terrain textures, and like in real life the terrain has different stratas. Think of how there could be grass on land, then some natural beach followed by a seabed that change with distance from the shore and the depth. Just to get the idea, here's an image. In Sampler we can create beautiful terrain materials, but it's limited in that one isn't able to preview how they come together making it very hard to "marry them" together, which then requires lots and lots of exporting, trial and error. I'd like to be able to preview two or more textures next to each other on the same mesh in the 3D viewport, perhaps controlled with something like the typical UX of gradient stops. Think perhaps, that you have a ruler-ish interface where you can add stops by hitting a + button, then clicking such a stop to choose a material (from the ones in the project file) for the partition, then you can slide the stop to decide on how big of a portion of the mesh it should take up.

This is a feature request that is about reusing parts (layers and materials) of a project file in various ways. First off, layers within an SSA file: I'd like to be able to duplicate a layer such that I can easily create layers with variations. Also, if I have multiple materials in a project file, I want to be able to copy one or more layers to a different existing material or to a new one. In addition to the above, I'd like to be able to copy materials and their layers via exporting a Material as a SSA file to a SSA file of its own, and then be able to import it back in to a new file. Or better yet, be able to import via selecting an existing SSA file and then get a dropdown (or with tick boxes) of materials in it that I can choose to import. Both ways can be useful, especially when a SSA file is getting huge. Other export options means losing the layer properties.

How about letting you add a "Node Graph Layer" in Painter, that will let you work in a nodes based way -on that layer-?
